As always we are excited and can't wait to share our place with you! We are a small farmette with goats, chickens, ducks, fruits, veggies, and Irish Wolfhounds. The 1.3 acre parcel across the street from the house and farm has a forested peninsula that the A-frame is located on. Our street ends in a small stream that continues to separate the farmstead from the A-frame site.
Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, ducks, muskrats, rabbits, geese, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species.
The cabin is 100sq. feet with sloping interior walls the flip up side wall is permanently open and screened in. There is no running water or electricity so unplug and unwind. A place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin in the driveway The cabin has a a full size mattress with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Lanterns, cooking utensils, camp mugs and camp coffee pot are provided. Please request the cast iron skillet and butane burner, it will not be in the cabin if you do not ask for it.
You are also welcome to set up your own tent. Please note cleared space is limited and the tent should be a 1-3 person smaller tent.
Outside on the deck are tiki torches, woodstove and bistro table. There is a hammock, picnic table, and 2 sets of outdoor chairs at your site. We do not have a swimming hole but the town beach is 5 minutes away and requires a day pass.
If you forget something you are a short walk to Cumbies, and several farms, bakeries and a large grocer are a very short drive away. Venture farther (10 minutes) to one of the nearby hiking trails.
We are within 15 minutes of the Blackstone Gorge, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Cornier Woods, Franklin State Forest, Wojcik Farm, Cook's Valley Farm, the New England Bonsai Museum, Diamond Hill Vineyards, Caroline's Cannabis, Shire Conservation Area, New England Country Club, and many stables.
The Commuter Rail to Boston, Wrentham Premium Outlets, and a Drive-in Theater are within 30 minutes. Use us as a base to explore Blackstone Valley, Boston and Worcester!! Please let us know if you need something we may have it, we want you to enjoy your stay!!

Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets and frogs to lull you to sleep and early birds to greet you in the morning. Keep an eye out for turtles!
We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful. There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road.
The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping! We do not accept car campers.
Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

The bunk house is on the lower part of the pond, making it more accessible as parking is right at the door.
There are private camp sites for guests who prefer to pitch a tent or park their van or RV. There's a portable toilet on site seasonally for guests staying on the lower half of the farm.
We can accommodated small respectful groups of campers looking for a quiet stay in nature. It's a great spot for local Scout Troops to pitch their tents and explore nature. Message for more information.

This site is large and private with dozens of unique features and details that make spending time here so delightful. The treehouse was stocked with books, games, led light fans, bug spray, and a refrigerator. From the screened porch we saw so many birds flying over the lake. We enjoyed a walk through the forest and saw a family of turkeys! Outside there is a fire pit, charcoal grill and gas grill. It was very hot so we didn’t get a chance to use these. The host was helpful with our initial questions, and the only thing we would have changed was the 90 degree weather! This site is a short drive from Mystic and Westerly with great restaurants and shops.

Communication with Scott was great and the site felt private. The site really is a large area in the woods that has been cleared. The underbrush was quite thick in places which was fine for me because I was in a camper/trailer, but I imagine would be a bit uncomfortable if sleeping in a tent. We were just passing through and the site met all of our needs for the night!

I had a great time camping on Emma's farm. There's a raised platform with a roof to put up my tent. The pond was very beautiful. There's a nice and very clean out-house. Best part is the location: it is a short drive from the truck stop which has showers and supplies if one needs it. Good location if you are planning a beach, fishing and/or casino trip in the area.

Weekend Trip to Getaway Ranch
My boyfriend and I loved getaway treehouse. Watching the sunset from the enclosed porch and waking up to bird sounds was nourishing to the soul. I definitely recommend it.

Perfect if you just want to get away for an easy weekend away. Plenty of stuff to do within 10 minutes of the site, my friend and I spent the better part of the weekend fishing. The provided fire pit and chairs are nice, plenty of wood around the property to make a fire, and it was cozy and comfortable. The site could be cleaned up of some of the less desirable vegetation (lots of thorny vines and plants) but other than that I have no complaints.

Just got back from a wonderful two night stay at Getaway Ranch. Karyssa was a wonderful host who provided us with wood for the fire ring our first night and quick responses to any questions we had. The Overlook site was great, we had plenty of spots to choose to pitch our tents. We enjoyed the view of the river from the stone bench and had great meals and conversation around the table and campfire. The dogs absolutely loved their time here with plenty to explore and we loved having them with us. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet and falling asleep to the sounds of bull frogs and waking up to beautiful birdsongs. We are definitely going to come back again.

The Yurt Campsite was perfect for a camping girls’ trip to celebrate my daughter’s 11 birthday.
She especially loved the hammock near the river. Karyssa was very accommodating and was quick to answer any questions we had, even bringing special fire color packets to make the fire magical for the birthday girl. The set up of tents, air mattress, and fire made it easy for inexperienced campers like us.

A beautiful A-frame! It felt really private even though it’s not far from other homes. Jae has a mosquito net along the “open” side of the A-frame which was super helpful. Jae was so kind and met us at check in. 1000% recommend and will try to come back!

About
Like a J.R.R. Tolkien book, Mashamoquet Brook State Park is rich with legend and lore. The most famous tale is of Israel Putnam who, in 1742, crept into a wolf den and shot a wolf that had preyed upon local farm animals for years. That very same wolf den can still be visited in the park today, where you can craft your own tale of heroism.
After you’ve saved the day, there’s still lots of the park to explore. The name Mashamoquet is Indian for “stream of good fishing,” so it’s no surprise the catches here are fat and frequent. Pull up a lawn chair by the water and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. When night falls, warm fires from the campground beckon. When day breaks, it’s time for a whole new adventure.
