Probably the most stunning properties ever ! The sounds of nature abound as do the views. It is LUSH and a feast for the eyes any time of the day or night. Come and camp and experience The Barn! You will have life long memories! Forested hiking trails, bountiful rivers and watering holes, fishing, birdwatching, peace…stars and nature! Learn more about this land: AMAZING STUNNING PROPERTY! PRIVATE! PEACEFUL! Absolutely heaven sent! A place that will stay in your hearts forever. The property's backdrop is the lush James Goodwin forest where you can walk directly from to hiking trails. Fall asleep under the magnificent brilliance of the millions of stars, hear nothing but the sound of crickets, croaking frogs, hooting owls; see fireflies light up the night and fall asleep to the sound of the streams running right alongside the property. Watch the ariel acrobatics of the swallows swoop into the barn to feed their chicks! The two streams feed into the huge Natchaug River right across the street which is great for fishing, or spending the day at Diana's pool basking on the rocks with a picnic lunch. The area and property is perfect for hiking, horseback riding, small retreats, family gatherings all the while enjoying nature at its purest. We offer a Weber grill and large fire pit and outdoor picnic table with umbrella. You can either sleep in the barn, down in the clean stalls, or up in the barn loft. Bring supplies as if you are camping ie bedding, hammock, tent, sleeping pad or inflatable mattress. There is a long wooden table up in the barn loft that seats 14. There are games up there too, (dominos, cards, trivial pursuit etc). You may also camp outside under the starry skies. No loud music. Noise off by 10.30pm please We provide a VERY clean porta potty and the barn has electricity and running (cold) water. Bring a solar portable shower should you need.AMAZING STUNNING PROPERTY! Wonderful family camping experience

Our family and a friend’s family enjoyed our first camping trip ever on Jocelyn’s land. It was just the right amount of rugged for us — a drive-up site with a cleared lawn to pitch our tents, a camp fire, charcoal grill, picnic table, clean porta potty, running water, electricity in the barn to charge phones overnight, and access to a general store. We had absolutely beautiful weather so we didn’t need the shelter of the barn, but it was nice to have a back up plan for downpour. During the day we climbed the ropes course at Adventure Park at Storrs, went fishing and rock skipping at Diana’s Pool nearby, and enjoyed the lake at Mansfield Hollow State Park. Only wish we had time to rent a kayak! We loved star gazing at night and seeing fireflies at dusk. The land is pitched so it’s hard to find a flat patch for the tents but it wasn’t a problem. Jocelyn is a friendly and welcoming host who gave great suggestions to help our kids enjoying the experience!

Jocelyn’s barn and campsite are just absolutely stunning! I camped there with my church and we just had the loveliest time connecting with nature, playing ball and getting together! When I went there was a little bit of rain but that didn’t stop us from hiking nearby trails and all in all, we had a great time!

Loved staying upstairs in the barn! It kept us protected from the wind and rain and had all we needed for a quick getaway. Highly recommended!

Fall fishing and camping with teens

We overnighted here for my sons birthday fishing trip. 3x 13 year olds and dad. Jocelyn was an amazing host. Super friendly and approachable. The barn is a great place for cold nights and rain. It’s a great way to plan a camping trip without worrying about rain or weather. If you are into trout/small mouth fishing the Natchaug is right across the street and there are many many walks all around. Great location will definitely be back again!

We enjoyed our stay here. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. We easily fit 5 of us in the top floor with air mattresses (If you are planning on sleeping on the first floor, definitely bring a tarp or blanket to put down). The outdoors area was well maintained with a great firepit where we sat around the flames and listened to the frogs and crickets and such. Would recommend. Was fun to watch the swallows as well. Porta Potty was very clean and had a convenient solar light next to it to help you find it in the dark.

This property and host were fantastic! We set up our tents in the back and truly appreciated having the barn as a shelter when it rained. The electricity was a great bonus, making it a step up from traditional camping. Plus, Diana's Pool was just down the road and provided a fun afternoon activity.

Firstly, Jocelyn is the most amazing, kind, and helpful woman. She did so much to make our wedding here perfect. And it was! Secondly, Jocelyn’s land and barn are unbelievably beautiful, we didn’t camp there but I can imagine it would be a perfect place to camp. Basically, Heaven Sent is really an accurate description of this place.

I loved spending the weekend at the barn. It was a quiet and peaceful time away from home. Directions were easy even arriving in the dark. Everything was as described and clean too. It was a nice balance between camping and glamping! Thank you Jocelyn for being a great host and welcoming me on arrival.

We had a great stay at Jocelyn's property! It was a great little peace of land in a beautiful area. Great fire pit with a babbling brook right at the edge of the property to listen to. Owls hooting at night. Great night sky visibility. And nice to have some running water and a bathroom. Plus the barn (a couple slept in it but otherwise just nice to have in case a weather break is needed). Did some fishing in nearby streams and ponds. Hiked around in Diana's Pool. Visited a couple of farms. Jocelyn was very responsive and a pleasure to meet. We would be happy to come back here anytime.

I brought a group of women to camp here for a weekend and we had a very comfortable, lovely stay. It rained, so we were glad to have the barn to hang out in for a while. We also brought tarps and canopies and there was plenty of room for us all. Hiking trails nearby. The property is beautiful and well kept, and the host was very welcoming to us. We had a great weekend!

Jocelyn’s place was the perfect getaway for our family. With two young children, we wanted a private space to try out camping, and we weren’t disappointed! Whether you’re tent camping or staying in the barn, it’s a great spot to enjoy some solitude by the fire and stare up at the night sky. She also met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the property and offered to answer any questions we had. Can’t recommend her enough!

The property was great and felt private considering you're not far from the house. The barn loft was spacious and the whole place was clean. It was nice having easy access to potable water and the porta-john on site made the trip comfortable for all of us. Jocelyn was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. She recommended some nearby areas to check out and overall we had a great experience. I would definitely stay here again.

The property was beautiful and well maintained. It was positioned far enough away from their home that you felt like you had the place to yourself. There was good space to have multiple centers for activity. The barn space was well lit at night and made for a great hang out space. There was a lot of good yard to sit up tents, and comfortable accommodation in the barn for people who didn’t have tents. Jocelyn was very accommodating to allowing us to enjoy ourselves and maintain a nice party atmosphere. It was a big plus to have a toilet and running water nearby. Would absolutely recommend.

We loved our stay here! Jocelyn was very kind and welcoming, and this few days of retreat with not an awful lot to do was exactly what we needed. Jumping into ponds, napping on the grass, and grilling without the endless to do lists of our own homes was a true delight.

Phenomenal School Retreat!

We came for our Yale Outdoors retreat and had an amazing stay!! The barn was beautiful and comfortable, it housed 12 of us with no problem. The property was great, we spent hours out by the fire and seated around the picnic table. Jocelyn was the best host, super responsive and helpful; she made sure we had everything we needed. Couldn’t recommend this place more, Yale Outdoors will definitely be back next year. <3

This was the perfect spot for our mini reunion. The barn was fun for the kids to play in and to have in case of rain. There is plenty of space and a great yard with a fire pit and picnic table that were a good fit for 3 families. Jocelyn was very attentive and helpful with questions and recommendations. We'll definitely stay here again.

Quiet, easy backyard camping 🙂🏕

We had a wonderful time staying at Jocelyn's place—an adorable patch of land with a great tree, barn, and firepit behind her beautiful home. It was perfect for setting up a tent and reading or playing games for hours on end. There were even some fireflies, which I hadn't seen since I was a kid. Jocelyn was very welcoming and communicative, and shared some local food tips for us. Highly recommended if you're looking for a night or two to camp somewhere outside of Rhode Island or in eastern CT.
