Looking for a place to relax, recharge or explore surrounding areas of Santa Cruz and Monterey counties? Vega Vortex is home to the Gaia Health Retreat and possesses vortex energy! Expect a warm greeting upon arrival. To find us, an unmarked road, listed on maps as "Country Lane" (we call it Vega Vortex Rd). Parking is close to our Vega Vortex sign and a short walk to your tent. Filtered potable water, electricity, shower/toilet with an "on demand" hot/cold water are available. Instructions for use are available and should you need assistance - we are here for you! Experience 2 campsites, BYOT (bring your own tent or rent one from us) or an onsite Bell tent. The Bell tent contains carpeted padded flooring, camp lights, shelving, 2 cots with bedding, plus a memory foam camping mattress! The BYOT site's measurement is 10' x 10' . Both sites have shaded areas, and picnic tables. A shower and a compost toilet are available. Enjoy a designated smoking/vaping spot, multiple benches, and swings, a "grounding" spot, birding, water fountains and art. A no noise policy by the county occurs at 9 pm. Due to a high risk fire zone, no open fires. Due to the proximity of the tents right next to Vega Rd, sounds from vehicles can be heard. We are situated in a rural neighborhood setting, with sounds of sheep, goats, chickens, wild turkeys, dogs and many birds nestled between both counties. For enhanced protection we ask that a waiver be signed. Security cameras are on site. While respecting your privacy, we can be seen improving the property. The terrain is hilly and staying on paths limits poison oak exposure. Vega Vortex has been called a Park and Machu Picchu due to the amphitheater landscaping of terracing. Practicing permaculture, a diversity of pollinating plants/ flowers, organic garden and art features exist. Minutes away from National Parks, the Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk, Roaring Camp Train, Monterey Bay Aquarium, National Steinbeck Center, Moss Landing, Elkhorn Slough/Canoe/Kayak, Estuaries (bird watching), golfing and multiple beaches. We have great hiking in the near area and 5 miles away there is great mountain biking trails. A world renoun mountain bike spot with intermediate to experienced trails for riders of all levels. 5 miles down the road as well is buzzard lagoon and is a great Dirt biking/4-wheeling location. It is a fun spot for all off road inthusiast! Your camping site is on a flat plateu and is an ideal spot to park your trailer, motorhome or tent camp. With Complete privacy with views of the pacific ocean and South county's Monterey bay with a 180 degree view as well as San jose and Morgan Hill. For the wine inthusiast, Loma Prieta winery is 5.5 miles away along with Windy Oaks Winery that is 3.7 miles away that is located on the "Wine trail" that has alots of winerys to offer in a beautiful location. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this HipCamp! The tent site was perfect — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. Everything we needed was there, from a well-equipped kitchen and fridge to spotless indoor toilets (such a bonus when camping with kids!). We went on the river a couple of times and the kids loved playing in it. Barry, our host, was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Firewood was available for purchase, which made our evenings around the campfire even better. I came with my two kids, and we all had such a great time — we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an easy, relaxing, and well-run camping experience.

My husband and I were trying out a camper van rental and driving down the coast. This spot is fantastic - it has everything you would have at a typical campground - except the crowds! It’s quiet and peaceful with pretty views of strawberry fields and Ray and Robin are lovely hosts; they gave us fresh eggs! As others have said there is a beautiful beach about an 8 min walk away that is dog friendly. We would definitely stay there again!

Weekend Trip to Amaya Creek Redwood Campground

I had originally booked site 1 to be closer to the restroom, but was told that someone that was currently staying there extended their stay. Jing was very prompt & kind to offer us other campsites within the area. We ended staying at Site 3 instead, which actually worked out much better in my honest opinion. It was literally right next to the hiking trail that my buddies went on. However site 3 was advertised as (Near Restroom) but it really isn't. It's a pretty long walk up and down a hill to get it. Luckily we paid for the extra car, which ended up being our vehicle to drive to the restroom. I don't think that would make me not recommend to stay at here. We made it work. Overall our stay was super nice, memories were made with friends & family. The redwoods provided so much shade and we felt cool all day. Not to mention sunset was really nice as well. We walked & drove past the group campsite and probably would plan another stay at that site next time. Thank you for the hospitality! We'll be back!

Eight minute walk to the beach! Pet friendly! Welcome to southern Santa Cruz County, home of some of the longest and most beautiful beaches in central California. Enjoy the peaceful view of 300 acres of strawberry fields across the valley. We are located in La Selva Beach, an eight-minute walk to Manresa State Beach. We are a small, working farm with vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and bees. There are many excellent places nearby to hike, walk, surf, swim, tide pool, kayak or just sit and enjoy the view. Our two campsites include water and electric hookups, and are only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers (no tent camping). You will not have another camper next to you! There are no size constraint on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty. Cell service is very good. The Valley View site can be expanded to two sites, both with water and power hookups. The second site (Valley View 2) can only be booked together with Valley View - please inquire if interested. This is helpful for guests who have separate rigs but want to be close to each other. Our property is a great base camp for your Santa Cruz and Monterey County adventures! We are 15 minutes from Capitola Village, 30 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey. We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area.
