Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance. We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Site 5 + amenities

My party stayed at site 5. We loved the creek and also being right next to the bridge! We also had a very short walk to the bathrooms. If you stay at site 5 I would recommend a tent size like no bigger than 12x12, if that. We had a 15x15 round tent and still had room, but not much. In addition, we were able to bring 2 cars but at this site they were a tight fit. The women’s bathroom had extremely small stalls and there are 2 single stalls for the mens bathroom. There is also a hose to wash dishes, and a game room with a pool table and a ping pong table, which I wasn’t aware of until we got there. Definitely loved this campsite and will be returning!

Beautiful location with excellent camp sites. level and soft ground for pitching the tent. Firewood is very well priced and kept dry. Bathrooms were very clean. Owners were awesome and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back.

Site 21 Paradise

We were greeted even as came in on a Friday night at 7pm and were shown our tent site (site 21). Everything was so dreamy - you’re right next to the creek, which flows around the campground, and there’s trees on both sides of the site so you have privacy. I cannot wait until the next time we can make it back out!

Tent camping no electricity. Campsite 4 was private, but near busy 350. It was beautiful and relaxing. Bathroom and showers nearby.. The host Linda was an amazing lady greeted us and showed us our campsite

Beautiful fir trees and lots of room. It was a great place for a peaceful campfire. Janet and Linda were very engaging. We loved the water features. Traffic sounds were noticed. We were grateful to find a park open in April. Hope to be back next year.

Trout Camp from YORK!

Always a great time at Bald Eagle Campsite. This was our 49th year camping there and we WILL be doing our 50th next year. You will not be disappointed!

We rented out camp site 30 which is the closest one to the main road which was a little loud but that was expected as the previous reviews. It did have electricity which was nice and it was the closest spot to the bathroom and it had a nice creek that flowed by. The had firewood there for $5 for 7 pieces and the electricity was $10 a night. Very nice and convenient.

Creekside delight

Hosts were very friendly and met me at the entrance when I messaged ahead. Site is on the smaller side just as the description said but I was still able to fit a large Coleman Evanston tent. Best part was the proximity to the creek. Campsite is very convenient and described very accurately on the listing. Also the recreation room with ping pong and pool table was a nice addition.

Great experience

First camper of the the year. everything was as listed bathrooms were clean site was cleaned up nicely. Was meet at the entrance by the owner and got a rundown of everything. Definitely will be staying again and would recommend if you are looking for a simple relaxing place to stay.

Great Weekend Escape!

This campground was the perfect weekend escape. My girlfriend had been wanting to go tent camping for a while and this couldn’t have been a better choice! Site 23 was tucked away from the other sites so it was nice to have that privacy and seclusion. The campground itself was very clean and we had such a great time sitting around the fire listening to the stream. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

The campground was beautiful and well suited for my high top Promaster camper van. I stayed in site 30, as recommended, but walking around there isn’t really a bad spot and other creekside sites are available. Yes, it is just off the road but I slept great and the noise didn’t bother me at all. Linda was a gracious and helpful host and I will definitely be back!

Truly Amazing & Reasonable

We had an absolute amazing time at this site. Campfires, Walking, Fishing & Camping was the pastime of this adventure and hopefully a future one as well. Our host was the most reasonable, kind, caring and respectful person we have had at any campsite b far. I would rate this campsite a 10/10. Will definitely be spreading the word into next year about this place. :)

Never to camp here

Other than the place having things to do. I was never met upon arrival. Then the day off pack up I'm told that renovations are going to be done. But yet there was people still at sites on the property camping. And people showing up to camp. Only spoke with the host once the whole time I was there and that was in passing of the bathroom.
