We are a short 15 minute drive to the North Cascades National Park! During the winter (typically end of November/early December through April/May) part of Highway 20 and driving access to the park is closed. You are still able to get to our dome using Highway 20 as that part is open all year round, but you are unable to access the park. You are able to drive to the entrance, park and snow shoe in if you'd like.
The part of Highway 20 that is closed is on the west side at milepost 134 at the Ross Dam Trailhead and on the east side, at milepost 171 at the Silver Star Gate, near Mazama.
An alternative hiking destination for the winter months is the Rockport State Park which is only a 4 minute drive from the dome. You are able to purchase a day pass on your phone once you arrive.

It is mighty during the winter months, but flows to a slow and shallow trickle during the summer making it a wonderful place for romping of children and pets alike.
There is also some swim holes if you need to truly cool your skin down.
The flowing Stilly has blessed us with a very large sand bar on our side of the river which has an abundance of flat, soft sand to pitch more tents on, and also build castles in for the littles.
Lastly, don't forget to catch the fantastic view of White Horse Mountain from the two seats that overlook the river!

Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls).
A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle.
Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas.
Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River.
In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy this glamp spot! Utilize the dry cabin equipped with two twin size beds, a pullout couch bed, a dining table with 4 chairs & extra seating. With plenty of space outdoors, feel free to pitch a tent or bring your RV for friends! It is a dry cabin meaning there is no running water. We have it powered with a solar panel which should give enough electricity to charge phones & lights as needed. There is also an outhouse with a compost bucket if you'd like to use that. The downside to this lovely parcel is it's on the opposite side of the train tracks, so there will be occasional noise. Maybe it adds to the uniqueness? Just keep that in mind as once in a blue moon, the train does stop so you may be stuck for a few minutes. Oh & those power lines sometimes make a crackling noise. Sometimes we notice it & other times we don't. Now that we got that out of the way, the pros are it's a great place to explore. There are a ton of nearby hikes. This spot is in between Stevens Pass & the famous Alps candy store, with each being about 15 mins away. There is a gas station/convenient store, a few diners, and a rest stop within 5 minutes. Historical Leavenworth is about 20 mins.
There is a spot for campfires, a small 2 burner propane stove & an ice chest for your convenience, but you will need to bring the propane.

Welcome to ‘Index Riverside Camp’ located just past the adorable and stunningly beautiful town of Index. We offer two sites on our 3 ½ acre waterfront property which is set right upon the Northfork of the Skykomish River.
Site 1: 'The Camper's Site'
The ‘RV/Camper Van and Tent Site’ is located to the left as you pull into the property. Park, situate and make yourselves at home near your above ground fire pit and picnic table overlooking that beautiful river. Set up your scene and enjoy.
Site 2: 'The Little Rustic Red Cabin'
The ‘Little Rustic Red Cabin’ site offers an in-ground heart shaped fire pit as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining. Inside the 358 sq ft cabin is a wood stove that heats the place up nicely. The cabin sleeps 4, offering one Queen size bed and one queen futon in the living room that faces a smart t.v. utilizing Starlink Internet. The kitchen offers all of your kitchen needs(minus running water from the faucet).
Also, in the cabin you’ll find a smart speaker to hook up to, two African djembe drums, a ukulele and an Australian didgeridoo. Let your musical side come on out!
Note:
There is no running water on site or septic system. Bring your own drinking water or filter from the river. Water is available in town as well. A porta potty is centered between the camping site and the cabin site.
Generously portioned bundles of firewood including kindling are for purchase located under the cute A-frame structure near outhouse.
Bring your food, water, camp chairs, bug spray, swimsuits, water toys and all your essentials for having a lovely camping and outdoor experience in one of the most beautiful areas of Washington State.

Bring your tent, sprinter van or RV to stay at our double sized campsite with level areas for any sleeping set up in this little camping neighborhood. Just bring your sleeping back for indoor sleeping on two cots.
Enjoy a rustic A-frame cabin with two cots, hard topped gazebo for shelter from rain or sun, a picnic table for dining or games, natural fire pit for campfires when permitted, propane fire ring for safer campfires, propane grill for grilling your latest catch from the river and chairs for roasting marshmallows around the fire.
Please provide your own fuel (propane or wood). Propane tanks are provided to fill as needed in Marblemount at the Mobil station.
While running water is supplied, the community HOA recommends boiling before consumption. Stock up on bottled water before you come!
A community supplied Porto potty is a short one minute walk from the camp. Restrooms with flush toilets and running sinks are a 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive.
Marblemount is located 4 miles up Cascade River Road.
Marblemount is about 25 minutes from the North Cascades Visitors Center located in Newhalem.
There is no official entrance to the North Cascades National Park.
There is no electricity in the park or on the site.

You’ll also find convenient parking right next to your bus, along with a picnic table for your use.
A portable toilet is located just a short walk away and includes a hand-washing station shared with nearby sites.

Our first Hipcamp experience and it was amazing! My favorite things about the site was the river and easy access to it, the forest and little trails, the privacy and the location is ideal. My favorite things about the cabin was how clean and comfortable the bed was, how clean inside and no bugs, the comfy futons, the convenience of everything supplied and the wood stove. The host was responsive and nice, clearly they love their little house. We'd had a reservation at another site but they had to cancel and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did. It was rainy and cold but we were toasty and happy until the sun came back. Perfect little camping spot for the PNW!

I felt very safe here, as there are 2 gates to go through, had the best sleep in a long time!
It's a very big, beautiful property with so many hiking trails to explore,

We really enjoyed the area and the a-frame! The amenities of the canopy and trash were super convenient. The closeness to the north cascades was also a great bonus! The only piece of feedback that I know can’t be controlled by the owners - Monday morning, the neighbors were using some power tools to do construction. However, it wasn’t too early and the a-frame is sound proof so it didn’t wake us up, just impacted a bit of the experience being in nature while packing up/making breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!

One of the biggest benefits of staying at Whirlywind was not having to pack, haul, set up, and tear down all of our own camping equipment. It allowed us to spend more time enjoying the beautiful river and surroundings and less time worrying about the work that comes with camping. (the camping rule “leave it better then you found it” was easy when it was all so clean and organized to begin with) Pathfinder’s Sanctuary sites lack nothing and our spot was exactly what we needed for a stress-free getaway.
We would absolutely recommend any of Jeremy’s sites to anyone who wants the fun of camping without all the hassle! Jeremy was extremely friendly, available and quick to answer any questions we had. We’ll definitely be back!

What a great little cabin! Me and my two kids were there for 2 nights and it was the perfect little getaway. Clean and comfortable. We were right next to the bathroom building but there were no smells. The kids loved the playground and being able to run free. The grounds were very well taken care of. We rented a pedal boat and caught a fish! Would highly recommend for families and large groups. There were a lot of wasps, if you're scared of that but it didn't bother us that much. We'll definitely be returning!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We stayed in the Hytte, and it was truly incredible. It is so quiet and beautiful back there, and you truly feel like you have your own campground. The Hytte is picturesque and comfortable. Having a running sink, your own toilet, and a hot outdoor shower, all just really seals the deal. Dave was very responsive when I had questions, and sent us very clear and timely info for the trip. We live a long ways away, but are already scheming how to get back out to Valhalla again.

Weekend Trip to The Pathfinders Sanctuary
Probably one of the most glamorous camping experiences. It’s a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the campsite but well worth it and made easy with the supplied wagon. The misty Mountain View campsite was a beautiful setting, just one other campsite visible from our site but barely could hear them. Such a serene spot right on the river. Jeremy was super informative and responsive, he couldn’t have been a better host. The campsite was stocked with more than I could have prepared, they really thought of everything.

We had campsite 2 which provided good access to the river, but was not very private and a little too close to bumping river road. Overall a great campsite compared to others in the area, quiet at night, water available, privy in decent condition, but I’d try for site 6 or 7 in the future.
Great small campground near Lake Wenatchee and other fun activities. Or site was right by the creek with a private little beach.

The campground was super quiet so that was nice. We started in site 12 - warning: do not book site 12 - the smelliest outhouses you have ever been in are essentially part of site 12. We stayed in site 12 1 night and moved across the street to site 13... which is WAY better. Right along the river and a big site. Lots of yellow jackets flying around while warm sun is out. Sites 9 and 11 look nice, too. Both are along the River.

I camped here this summer and for one night only --- for good reason! IT'S WAY TOO NOISY! Not because of people, but because it's only about 1/10 of a mile to 207 which has TONS OF TRAFFIC that you can hear LOUD and Clear from campground. I do NOT go camping to listen to highway traffic. that is o way to enjoy nature. I will never go here again.

I've camped here twice, mid-week trips in Aug 2018 (a handful of campsites occupied out of the 10 available and 2019 (only a trailer at one end and a family with a couple tents near the middle). Because you can't make reservations, it seems to dissuade people from coming. There is some traffic noise from Salmon La Sac Rd but it's not bad at all on weekdays, and there are hardly any cars on the road after dark.
Big warning - I had a bear in my site in 2019. I stupidly had left my cooler out. The bear ran as soon as he saw my flashlight shining from the tent doorway, but he decimated my food. So don't be me - put anything related to food or personal hygiene into your vehicle or trailer at night.

My niece and I spent last week at this lovely campsite. We then hiked several miles into the backcountry toward Mt Maude/Ice lakes, camping, and enjoying our beautiful surroundings. An amazing aftermath of the entiat fires aparent, although evidence of regrowth in abundance. Made our hearts feel good to encounter over 20 dear on our trip. We were sad to leave, as we were all alone in one of the most beautiful, majestic places in America. Please take the time to explore this gorgous part of Washington State. You're going to be impressed!

Chill and very well maintained campground outside Lake Wenatchee. Very easy access to the creek and you can walk to the Lake if you want. Booking online is a little tricky because for some reason they don’t show you the map of the campground when choosing a site. A lot of the sites are close to the road which was probably my biggest gripe, so the best sites are definitely the ones along the creek. Bathrooms were standard flush, but bring your own soap. Water spigots located throughout. Firewood was for sale at the camp host for $7/bundle (cash only). Be aware of mosquitos in the summer and don’t forget the bug spray, I got bit within 30 seconds of getting out of the car.

The rest of the Methow Valley was hot and choked with dust and people, but up at Loup Loup it was cool, quiet, and almost no people. Sites are spacious with lots of privacy, and sheltered by the trees so very little wind. Great place to camp and cool down! Cons are limited water.

Excellent campground that isn’t too far off the beaten path but far enough out to be infrequently visited. All the sites include picnic tables and nice fire pits. There is 1 vault toilet onsite as well. The campground is well maintained and I didn’t see a single piece of trash anywhere. Place was perfect with 1 single exception. The mosquitoes are absolutely horrible. Was incredibly difficult to escape them. Campfire, bug spray, etc. It barely made a difference. Either way I would highly recommend and I will surely be back, albeit with more mosquito defense of some kind...

Stayed here in July of 2017 and loved it. No water or electricity but plenty of RV and tent sites. Sites are booked first come first served but we had no problem getting three all together on Thursday evening. There are outhouses available on site and dumpsters for garbage. Many forest service roads in the area to explore and several hiking trails. Mostly quiet with the river running past. I would definitely return.

Indoor plumbing with hot water, which is rare in USFS rental cabins. However, pretty basic for the price ($80). Propane cooking stove was out of order, so had to cook outside on Coleman stove. Also stinky propane smell, which could be remedied by opening large and well-screened windows. Lovely little spot to veg by the creek. Trails in area open to ORV use, so dusty and rocky. Oddest of all, there's a parking lot next door to the cabin with a campground host RV. I for one like to rent USFS cabins in part for the solitude!

If the road conditions had been better I would rate a 5. Chelan county ranger district lists this as a "drive-in campsite" with no other details. DO NOT DRIVE TO THIS CAMPSITE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN OFFROADING VEHICLE. about 30 miles of very poorly kept gravel road on the Cliffside the entire time, so no way to turn around. in the last 3 miles $700 worth of damage was done to our vehicle from brush alone. Hope this helps someone else avoid the tricky situation we ended up in

My family just returned from our first camping trip with our four kids; ages 7, 6 & 2 year old twins. We LOVED Ida creek. The first come first serve campsites worked out well for us with a Wednesday arrival following the 4th of July. We snagged a large open site right next to the river. The grounds were beautiful and I loved how quiet and peaceful it was being truly in the wild. The vault toilet was a bit gross- but hey- it's camping. I appreciated the potable water and the garbage onsite. The fires WERE allowed in the fire pits so that made for warm mornings and fun smores filled evenings. We spent an afternoon hanging out by a slower spot in the river. The water was freezing but refreshing. The mountains were SO stunning- so scenic!

It's much cooler here so pack accordingly and beware of the mosquitos. We found a very secluded campground and it was really lovely though any of the sites would have been fine since there were no other campers. The little creek is super charming. The road up to the top were the camping site was is long and very rough so make sure to drive a vehicle that can handle that.
