The farm is owned and operated by the Pickering Family, who has been living on the farm since 1884. The property is close to Seattle but feels like a world away!

Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. This is a gated property, protected with a code, which you will be sent 24 hours before your arrival. Please be sure to read arrival instructions! The campsites are at the bottom of a long logging road so an SUV or AWD vehicle are preferable , especially during the wetter seasons. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy pool along the beach. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Pets are welcome, there are private outhouses at each campsite. These outhouses are protected with a code, which is sent to you 24 hours before your arrival. Campfires are allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

Camp Keyser is a wooded 5 acre parcel in the mountains, near mountain loop highway - in the center of everything wonderful in the northern cascade mountains. We have one private cabin and 6 campsites. Tent campers will enjoy the lush landscape of a mature forest with sites along the (seasonal) Thirsty Creek. Nearby (3 minute walk), users can contemplate views of Whitehorse Mountain, Jumbo Mountain, Glacier Peak, and Whitechuck Mountain. This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls). A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle. Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas. Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River. In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

Nestled on 30 acres of lush rainforest, our property is a place we’ve fallen deeply in love with, and we’re excited to begin sharing it with others who appreciate nature as much as we do. A beautiful river winds its way through the property, creating what we think is the best swimming hole around—a perfect place to cool off on a warm summer day, relax by the water, or simply enjoy the peaceful sounds of the forest. Our campsites are intentionally simple. This is basic tent camping designed for people who want to unplug and experience nature, not a crowded campground filled with pavement and perfectly level pads. We created each campsite by working with the land instead of against it. Rather than clearing large areas or removing healthy trees, each site follows the natural topography of the forest. Because of that, every campsite is unique in its size, shape, and character. We’re also at the very beginning of an exciting journey. This property is a labor of love, and it’s constantly evolving. You’ll likely see us working on new projects during your stay as we continue to improve the land and add thoughtful amenities over time. Our dream is to eventually build treehouses, cabins, and other unique places to stay while preserving the natural beauty that makes this property so special. By staying with us now, you’re becoming part of that journey. We appreciate your patience as we continue to grow, and we hope you’ll return over the years to see how this little campground evolves. While we do offer glamping sites that are quite special, and allow people to pick up and come here without the need to bring any gear at all, if you’re looking for luxury camping, we may not be the right fit. But if you’re looking for towering evergreens, fresh mountain air, a crystal-clear river, peaceful nights under the stars, and a place that feels wild, authentic, and full of possibility—we’d love to welcome you. We currently offer 22 tent camping sites ranging in sizes small, medium and large, and 2 glamping sites that are all first come, first serve within each size level. Please note that our property is currently 18+ only. Because the campground is still a developing, natural property with uneven terrain, river access, ongoing projects, and limited infrastructure, we are not set up to safely accommodate children at this time. Perfect for tent campers and nature lovers who prefer to car camp, these scenic creekside campsites all offer a relaxing getaway just steps from the water and close to hiking, fishing, a natural cold plunge and several other outdoor adventures. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful weekend getaway or a week immersed in nature, these cozy creekside settings provides the perfect respite to unwind beneath the stars. Also, unlike many of the other sites in the area, there’s no need to worry about train noise or train encounters while staying with us at Timber Canyon Ranch. Please remember to clean up your waste and anything your dog leaves behind ;) We’ve had zero issues yet and desperately want to keep it that way (hence the $100 fine if we find something you’ve left). Some final notes dedicated to safety: Be careful standing and walking on the rocks near the water! Many of them are more slippery than you’d expect and people have gotten severely injured- thankfully not at our site! Our trails to each creekside campsite also require intermediate to advanced skill based on both tripping hazards as well as raw steepness. For your safety, do not book these sites if you are not comfortable navigating extreme terrain!
