Welcome to the North Stilly River Yurt — your off-grid, magical dreamland in the forest on a winding river! 🌲🌊 Come experience a peaceful, secluded getaway tucked into the forest above the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River. This unique yurt sits on 5 private acres and offers an adventurous yet comfortable place to relax, explore, and reconnect with nature. ✨ What to Expect You’ll park at a hilltop above the yurt and follow clearly marked stairs and a winding trail downhill (about 0.8 miles total) to reach your yurt and riverfront areas — a great way to stretch your legs and start your outdoor adventure! Please keep in mind, you will need to pack your items down a long hill- so don't bring too much!! It has some steepness to it and stairs, about 1/4 mile long. Once you arrive, enjoy: A 20' yurt with a comfy queen bed and space for additional sleeping gear. A large welcoming rock patio with fire ring, picnic tables, and BBQ. Plenty of room to pitch tents down near the river or in the fern grove. A sand bar and shallow areas perfect for exploring, playing, or cooling off in summer. You can then creep along the trail further and come upon a nice flat, comfy greenery area to pitch multitudes of tents, have a swing in the hammocks, or play some yard games. ⚠️ Off-Grid Info The yurt is fully off-grid — bring your own drinking water, food, and supplies. There is no heat source inside the yurt, so plan accordingly for cooler seasons. An outhouse is located on site. It’s a perfect spot for groups, families, and anyone who loves the rhythm of the river, the rustle of the forest, and a true outdoor retreat. And yet the magic does not end-- emerge further down the hill and you will come upon the glorious North Fork of the Stillaguamish River. It is mighty during the winter months, but flows to a slow and shallow trickle during the summer making it a wonderful place for romping of children and pets alike. There is also some swim holes if you need to truly cool your skin down. The flowing Stilly has blessed us with a very large sand bar on our side of the river which has an abundance of flat, soft sand to pitch more tents on, and also build castles in for the littles. Lastly, don't forget to catch the fantastic view of White Horse Mountain from the two seats that overlook the river! Catch it during the day or during the night with the moon in front of the mountain. You will never forget it!Our yurt property is 5 acres off grid forested wonderland on the Stilly river. What will be provided: Two picnic tables Fire pit Barbeque with propane. Light with long handled lighter right at second burner at source of flame. Cook stove with propane. Light with long handled lighter down at source of flame. Camp chairs Some kitchen gear, such as: wine opener, can opener, kitchen knife, steak knives, barbeque tools, pots, pans, tea kettle, coffee single cup with filter that you pour boiling water from tea kettle into brew your cup, Garbage bags (black) What you might consider bringing: -Queen bedding for queen size bed in the yurt. -Tent, sleeping gear if you plan to pitch tents. -Food, Beverage, Bring your own drinking water. -Toilet paper -Portable battery. We have a Stereo system with CDS and record player. -Sunscreen, bug spray -Hand-sanitizer. This is an off-grid land. No running water or electricity. -We have one very large cooler, that can house lots of drinks. -Long-handled lighter. -Chopped wood. Although if available chopped wood can be purchased. -Swim gear. Beach towels. -Table cloth for rectangular picnic tables. Resources close by: Minimart, that has many odds and ends if needed. Just back down Swede Haven road to Hwy 530. Shell: 38710 State Route 530 NE, Arlington, WA 98223 Darrington, WA is located about 6 miles further east and has a grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, a few restaurants, etc.

Beautiful Scenery at the River

We had a fantastic time camping right along the river & spending most of our time at the river. Pros: a clean yurt, fire pit/patio site and river area! The yurt was also stocked with helpful things like folding chairs, bug spray (mosquitos/biting flies were pretty bad). The people before us must have removed all their garbage, so that was great to start with clean, empty trash cans. We also packed out all our garbage & recycling. Kind of a pain (especially with all our dog’s poop bags), but that’s just how it is. Cons: It is a strenuous hike loading/unloading all our “car camping” style gear from the top of the road where you park, all the way down a steep trail that includes one set of wood stairs & other random wood steps set up in places. We were hoping to use our rolling cart, but that only took us a short distance, (down the gravel road & then just the beginning section of the trail.) Then there is another steep, awkward trail from the yurt to get down to the river. So, be advised this is really a “hike-in” style camping situation. Pack light (or, like us, be prepared to spend hours hiking up & down the trail unloading & then packing it all back out.) We only camped for 2 nights, so it was a lot of work for only one full day of relaxing. With our 6 person tent, multiple coolers of food/drink—just our usual load for car camping—not good for a steep hike-in style camping situation. The weather was sunny/really nice, but that means the yurt gets VERY HOT inside.

The property was absolutely beautiful, the private riverfront area was second to none and we spent each evening watching the sun set on the mountains. The yurt itself was well stocked and comfortable. However, none of us were prepared for the difficulty of actually getting to the property - I wish the hosts would have been straightforward about the path that leads from the parking area to the yurt/camping area. It has a significant steepness with many muddy/slippery segments. Bringing our camping gear down to the site was difficult, and bringing it back up was doubly so and took more than 2 hours. If we had known about this we would have packed differently.

The location of the yurt is absolutely gorgeous. It feels very private, peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery. My dogs had a blast playing in the river. The view of the mountains was breathtaking. The only thing that caught us by surprise was the trip down to the yurt. You park up at the top of the property. It’s not really mentioned in the listing but you have to hike in on a steep incline for about a quarter of a mile. If i knew this ahead of time i would have packed a lot lighter. We packed for glamping not primitive camping. So we were regretful after several trips up and back to unload our vehicle. It’s pretty steep and can be a bit slippery as well. The uphill jaunt at the end of the trip to load the car was even less fun. I loved the stay and the property in general. Just wish I had a heads up in the listing about what it takes to get down there. Book this property and just plan for what it takes to move all your gear down there.

A True PNW Experience

Yurt On River

A perfect escape! We needed a place in the woods (where everything makes sense), a place our dogs could run free & swim without worry, a place where we could relax off-grid, cook steak outside, explore with find the smoothest river rocks, breathe deeply amongst the trees, find the coolest huge snails with the kids, and sleep in a yurt (our first time!). It nicely fit everyone, too (2 adults, 2 preteen/teen kids, 2 big dogs). That was important because both nights we stayed was torrential downpour with thunderstorms! It was quite the memorable experience! When we were down to our last dry clothes, we stayed in, played board games, and read books. The sun came out the day we left and a heatwave followed. This place can handle both, I'm sure. We will be back!

We spent a night at Jamie’s place and had a wonderful experience. Everything matched the description on Hipcamp, and the instructions provided were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. The site was peaceful, well-maintained, and exactly what we were hoping for. We’d absolutely love to return!

My friends and I had such an endearing time here with bbq, stories, camp fire. The location of this THE crown jewel, just next to the river and all the natural beauty to yourself. I highly recommend Jamie’s yurt stay!

Best first landing experience ever

This amazing year it was way more than me, and my girlfriend can ever bargain her ass for with rope swings and a close by a river and very, very secluded. We felt like we were camping in the middle of nowhere while being close to our car.
