Overall Marvin was a very accommodating host. The property was great w/ plenty of space for the various tents & vehicle sleeping set ups across our group. We opted to set up most tents closer to the gate vs near the river, so maximize hang out space as it wasn’t a huge area. The neighborhood itself was kind of sketchy & quite loud, especially at night (cars revving their engines, loud music, someone using an impact driver at 3am.) We were glad the property had a gate. None of this is controllable by the host, but is good to know especially if you’re a light sleeper.
Our group of 12 was only there Fri-Sun but on Sat morning, it was discovered that the system “septic” was full & it ended up needing to be pumped. The host was quickly on top of it & got someone out that morning, but it was a minor inconvenience & this seemed preventable, as we had only been there ~12hrs.
It’s worth noting that though the listing specifies the host lives directly on site, it was unclear just how close the host cabin actually is from the pictures. There is virtually no privacy. Due to things like the waste system issue, Marvin talked to our group quite a bit, which was nice to get resolved, but the site definitely did not feel very private. It was fine, but the general sentiment from our group was a bit more privacy would have been preferred. However, the riverfront access was a huge bonus, so if not having total privacy doesn’t bother you, then this is a great spot.

What a special place. The river access is the highlight of our time there! We spent hours down there just hanging out and playing as a family. The bunk house was great, and the string lights made the evenings feel magical. Marvin was wonderfully communicative the whole time, quick to answer and happy to help with anything. Thank you for sharing this spot with us, we hope to be back.

Marvin's oasis is truly a gem! It's within neighborhood but you still feel private. We also appreciate how Marvin update us with the weather and even provided us activities for our kids. The kids enjoyed the access to the river on Marvin's property.

The property is right on the water. Amazing views, opportunity to swim, fish, and relax. The property offered a bathroom and running water. Lots of accommodations. Marvin was a great host and always made sure we had what we needed.
We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend here! The campsite is beautiful, right along the river, with plenty of space for our tents and a great fire pit for evenings together. Having running water, and electricity made our stay even more comfortable.
The host was friendly, informative, and very quick to respond. Our whole family, especially the kids, had an amazing time. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Great space! Relaxing, right on the river. Nice that there was a bathroom to use. Marvin was very helpful showing us around and was eager to make sure we had everything we needed. The ‘things to do’ board was a nice touch showing local attractions and hikes in the area. Would definitely stay here again.
This is such a special place right on the river. I loved having the whole place to myself to enjoy. Such a nice bonus to have a BBQ, firewood, bathrooms, and hook-Ups. Marvin was so nice and friendly. I’ll come back for sure!

Quiet Scenic Riverside Camping

This is a peaceful, private, riverside property, with changing views of Mt. Pilchuck (as the clouds allow). We relaxed around the campfire, listened to the sound of the river rushing by, and enjoyed good family times together. Marvin is a gracious, friendly, helpful host.

It was so fun private spot by the river with water access. Lots of space the dogs love it. Good communication with the owner totally coming back.
We loved our weekend with Marvin and Dyane, the nicest people you'll ever meet.
The property is beautiful with so many amenities.
Location is great. Very close to town and hiking. We went to the Ice Caves, they're very close by.
Great weekend and absolutely beautiful view of Mt. Pilchuck. Highly recommend Marvins River Oasis. Thank you both!

Marvin’s spot is a perfect riverfront getaway! Not too far off the beaten path, but far enough to unplug and unwind. The scenery along the river is spectacular. Our rooftop tent fit perfectly in the site, and the nearby bunkhouse was the perfect backup when heavier rain rolled in.
We had an amazing stay at Marvin’s property and I truly cannot recommend it enough. Marvin was incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming from start to finish. The property itself was absolutely beautiful and offered everything we needed and more. There was plenty of space for our group of six, our dog, and our RV, and the access to the river was fantastic.
Before arriving, we misunderstood part of the listing and didn’t realize the property owner could sometimes be on-site. That was completely our mistake, not Marvin’s fault in any way. When we arrived and realized the misunderstanding, we planned to pack up and leave with no hard feelings at all. However, Marvin went far above and beyond anything we would have expected — he graciously offered to stay at his other home so we could feel completely comfortable during our stay. That level of kindness and generosity is so rare, and we were incredibly grateful.
Because of his hospitality, we stayed and ended up having the most wonderful time. Marvin truly cares about his guests and goes out of his way to make sure everyone has a great experience. The property is peaceful, beautiful, dog-friendly, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. I would absolutely recommend this spot to any of my friends and would happily stay here again.

Really beautiful views of Mr Pilchuck during the time of year I went. My friends and I pitched tents and car camped at the riverside camp site. Marvin’s land is tranquil and beautiful. I fell asleep listening to the sounds of the river every night. Marvin was extremely generous and let us use the majority of the space on his property since we were the only campers at the time. There are perfect hammocking trees along the river’s edge. The property is almost entirely fenced to the next door properties but there are a few gaps that neighborhood dogs would often come to visit through. My friends, our dogs, and I had an amazing time and loved the experience Marvin’s land had to offer.

We had a great time at Marvin's River camp. It was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The river is so peaceful. We walked in it, floated it and even tried to catch a fish.
Marvin and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. Especially with backing the trailer in as well as offering up suggestions on how to upgrade our trailer for a better travel experience. We are new to trailer travel so it was nice to get info from an experienced person. My family is looking forward to booking another weekend.

When I drove through the gate at Marvin's property, it was like I arrived at my own personal park on the river. Beautiful clean landscape with lots of quiet shady spots. I couldn't get over how warm the river water was. My dog and I really enjoyed playing and splashing in the river. The site is truly relaxing, fun and therapeutic. Marvin is a great host. Caring and great at communicating any details you need to know. Cannot wait to come back. Thanks Marvin!

An excellent spot for a spontaneous weekend away with my kids. The property is well cared for and the trailer pad is level and quite large. My son loved playing in the river. Marvin was an excellent host.
If you have a larger trailer then I'd recommend backing in from the road. I pulled in forwards and was able to turn my 24ft trailer, but it was tight.

Very clean and tidy. It is in a neighborhood but once you pull in the driveway it is very private and the river is great. Chad gave good instructions the day before we got there. It was nice having a clean barbecue already setup to use.
Chad’s property was beautiful! I was just what we needed to getaway and spend time on the river. Chad was very helpful with all of our questions before hand and made sure we had everything we needed. We will come back for sure!

We stay here often and can’t say enough about it. The river is beautiful, they have added gravel and the RV spot is perfectly flat, a bbq you can use, and great patio lights to light up the site in the evening. Great location and perfect WiFi if you need to get work done. Great spot. Will always return!

What an amazing stay and what a beautiful slice of heaven. It’s no wonder why Chads property is always booked- it’s by far our most favorite hipcamp and just 50 min away from Seattle. Chad and Amy were great hosts, very welcoming and kind but our most favorite part of our stay was being greeted by their adorable golden retriever, Louie. If you’re looking to getaway from the busy campsites, look no further…. All I can say is WOW!

This will be the 3rd time we have been back to Chad’s and it just keeps getting better. This little spot on the river never disappoints. In rain or shine this place is a great place to curl up and get some reading done, watch the river or even do a bit of work (there is great wifi). The property is so close to the city you can duck out midway through a work day and finish up by the river! What could be better!

What a spectacular little spot Chad has! We stay at a lot of Hipcamps and this spot may be one of our favorites. The river was perfect to take a dip in, the neighbors were so nice and the quite was much appreciated. What a slice of heaven! Chad was easy to communicate with and has kept up the property so well. Fantastic stay! We will be coming back!

Peaceful and lovely. My 7 yo loved climbing all over the rocks on the side of the creek, but I wouldn’t advise folks with younger kids stay here unless you are comfortable watching your kids like a hawk the whole time. Very quiet and serene. Pondering staying by myself sometime for some solo r&r.

Beautiful location with direct access to the creek on the property. We were given access to the porch of the cabin which was a great place to sit and enjoy the creek and to set up a table for meals. The sounds of the creek and birds was very peaceful.
We checked out Granite Falls which was a 5-minute drive, and we also went to a lavender farm and visited the town of Arlington, both were within a 20-minute drive.
Communication with the host was excellent. We loved our stay and plan to return again.
