Weekend Trip to Peaceful Seclusion

This was a perfect getaway with plenty space to setup a tent or hammock. It's also only 15 minutes away from a store if I forgot anything. Kate supplied plenty of split wood, picnic table, chair and bench. The view was amazing and I will definitely be back again!

This was our first stay at Muddy Myst after looking at it on Hipcamp for a while now! With the state parks closing it was the perfect time to try this place out, and it was amazing!! The hosts were amazing and made us feel right at home! Falling asleep listening to the creek all night was also amazing. Will definitely be back!!

Weekend Trip to Ridge Top Retreat

Rebecca and her family were magnificent hosts for our family. They were so kind, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The tent itself was so cozy and the bathroom very clean. We enjoyed making s’mores atvthe campfire and gazing at the beautiful starry sky. We even got to meet the farm animals before we left. It was a great to have our own private space and we highly recommend staying here!

Fantastic property! We rented the tree cabin but the tent sites also looked great. All the amenities you could ask for while still being rustic and private. We visited for our annual fall leaf peeping trip, but we fully intend to come back in the summer--we are excited to take advantage of the cute little pond for swimming and kayaking. Would highly recommend!!

Weekend Trip to River Hills Above the Allegheny

Such a beautiful location. The views were amazing. The hosts were super accommodating and kind. They were on site when we visited, and they offered to give my nieces and nephews a ride in their buggy. They had a blast. Kids and dogs loved trekking through the creek and exploring the waterfall. The open field was great for us to play all sorts of games. Played capture the flag at night. All in all a great time.

We had the loveliest time and the hosts Eric and Vicki are tremendous. She brought us the best ribs and macaroni salad and potato salad out of nowhere as they had extras! Kind and sweet. . Land is gorgeous. Fabulous trails we explored w the dogs. We had a campfire and just relaxed for 2 nights w no cares other than wAtching the stars. We'll be back!

We loved our stay. Quiet, peaceful, a nice weekend getaway. It gives the “off the grid” vibes, but still has everything you really need. The outdoor shower made the experience unique!

1 night at Ridge Top Retreat

Ridge Top Retreat is, by far, the most unique and well-done Hipcamps I’ve visited. The interior of the tent is beautifully decorated and the propane furnace kept it toasty warm on a cool fall evening. The “outhouse” has a portable toilet and a hot shower with an instant water heater powered by solar panels. The host provided plenty of firewood and even started a fire for us! With no ambient light, the stars and Milky Way were beautiful! The setting is gorgeous, set on a high spot with an incredible view across the hayfield to a beautiful country church and cemetery. I highly recommend this very special place.

Camp is on 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek on the western border and back up through a hemlock forest along south border. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. Set up to be most natural, minimal mowing, and sites meant to be more private. We let you know if you have others on property. No running water or flush toilets on sites unless in your self-contained camper. A compost loo provided. Lots of kindling can be easily gathered for a fire. Consider ordering some ahead of time if it has been raining though. There is a tarp and a wheelbarrow to collect logs and kindling and move to your site.

Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesedale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. You can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh from here! There are several ATV trails that have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay. The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike, or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed...must be leashed at all times...dogs, cats, horses, Bring your pets! There is a spring, with potable water, on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesedale road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky... Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops. You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby. Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Please don't bring firewood from other counties due to spread of diseases and destructive insects. Located just outside of Parker, PA and 25 minutes from I-80, our campsite is very accessible, yet still very remote. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Turkey, bald eagles and even bear are occasionally spotted, so be prepared to secure your food and trash at night. For those coming to disconnect, you have found the right place. But if cell service is needed, you will have enough to get texts out and depending what site you booked, calls and internet as well. Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods.Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.
