She has tons of recommendations, but our favorite was the Indian creek cafe across the river. The areas so great and clean and the host cares about her guests! Would recommend!"

Lake,-woods HideAway @Bull Frog Bay

1 site 路 RV, Tent5 acres 路 Bandon, OR
My grandmother bought this property in the 1920鈥檚 as a place for her husband, the country doctor, to have an escape form the 14/7 style of medicine then. My mother spent summers here, myself and my 3 children as well. In the late 90鈥檚 the property was divided between my sister and I. I got a heavily forested piece and in 2006-9 put in road, well, electricity and built my lake front home. I did most of the work myself, used many energy efficient components and used wood from the land where I could. The Hipcamp site is the site of a former tool shed, just a bit back from the lake and nestled in wooded surroundings.聽 A secluded site among towering fir trees, just steps from a fresh water lake. There is swimming and fishing from my dock and float. You might enjoy using my kayaks ( two included with nightly booking)聽to explore the lake especially at sunset and early morning before the wind picks up. 聽You are the only campers here.聽 You can hike the BLM Lost Lake trail, ride bikes on wooded nearby roads, drive minutes to several ocean beaches State waysides with paths to the beach and bathrooms.聽聽Bullards State Park, minutes to beautiful Bandon-By-the -Sea. In town are lots of options : horseback riding , twice a month sand labyrinths, famous golf courses, restaurants and deep sea fishing. Try crabbing on the town dock or visit our award winning creamery making cheese every morning and featuring huge ice cream cones.聽 Please note as this is my home, I require that all guests over age 5 be Covid vaccinated and have had their booster. Please do not request a booking if you are not vaccinated .聽

The Cu-Coos Nest at Dragonfly Farm

1 site 路 Lodging89 acres 路 Langlois, OR
The Cu-Coos Nest Campground is Dragonfly Farm & Nursery's newest addition. Our garden center takes up about 3 of the 89 acres of mostly forested land that it resides on. Our campsites are special in that they are all very private from each other and the property has many trails to walk. Forest bathe! Let your dogs and kids run free and breathe in the fresh forest air. We welcome you to walk the trails to the nursery (during open hours) where we have a playground, picnic area, gift shop and the largest selection of plants on the southern Oregon coast! We host live music events in the summer too - be sure to check out our nursery website for our schedule of events! You'll also find our goats near the nursery! We have 3 American Pigmy goats and 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats. We are in the process of putting up a bigger fenced area for them (we keep them for eating brush). For now they hang out near the playground and we take them for walks to get their daily fill of greens. If you'd like to go on a goat walk with us, just let us know! Well behaved doggo? Let them wander off leash! But please note that we do have dogs (who are very friendly and will probably come say hi), cats and goats on property. We love when dogs visit the garden center too! You're within a 15 minute drive of the beach, the lake, the river or our cute nearby coastal towns Port Orford (to the south) and Bandon (to the north). We are 2 miles north of our sweet lil town of Langlois, where you'll find a breakfast/lunch restaurant, coffee, and a market. We鈥檙e happy to give suggestions! But unless you ask us, we鈥檒l leave you to your privacy. Please note the driveway that our campsites are on, is an easement road and we share it with our neighbors who farm sheep.

The best camping near Humbug Mountain State Park guide

Overview

About

Spread out over a peak jetting out from the Pacific Ocean, Humbug Mountain State Park is known for well-maintained coastal trails and great ocean views. The park attracts day-use visitors and overnight campers alike, and staying here means quick and easy access to both the Humbug Trail, which leads to the summit of the mountain, and the Oregon Coast Trail, which spans nearly 400 miles along Oregon鈥檚 western shores. Humbug Mountain Campground has 95 reservable campsites along with flush toilets, hot showers, and a reservable picnic area with a gazebo.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations at Humbug open at 6am, six months in advance, and can be made online using the Oregon State Parks' reservation system or over the phone up to one day before arrival. Summer weekends fill up well in advance, so it鈥檚 wise to plan early.
  2. Opt for weekdays if possible. If you have some flexibility and can stay during the week, you鈥檒l have a much easier time finding a campsite. Same-day campsites can only be booked in person and are released on a first-come, first-served basis.聽
  3. Arrive first thing in the morning for the best chances of securing a site.

When to go

Humbug Mountain State Park is open year-round for camping and day-use recreation. It's at its most popular during summer vacation, which usually runs from the middle of June through Labor Day in Oregon schools. This also coincides with the warmest, driest days of the year, typically in July and August. September is a good time to visit, particularly on weekdays, if you want to beat the crowds without sacrificing good weather.

Know before you go

  • The nearby town of Port Orford, a 10-minute drive away, is the closest place to pick up food, fuel, and supplies.
  • Collecting firewood in Oregon State Parks is prohibited鈥攆irewood is available sold at the campground. Avoid bringing in firewood from other regions, as it may introduce diseases or pests.聽
  • The campground offers accessible toilets and showers, as well as two electrical sites for travelers with disabilities.
  • A small hiker/biker camping area is available for those arriving on foot or by bicycle.
