17mi from White Mountain National Forest · 18 sites · Tents, RVs · Whitefield, NH
WINTER CAMPING! We have 2 spots with electric and welcome winter campers in any compacity you dare :) Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites are large, private and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 13 sites; 2 large campsites, 6 primitive walk in sites, 3 park and sleep sites and 2 RV camper sites. If our sites are booked, please message me. We have a ton of space and can accommodate you somewhere! During the warmer months(Late March-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Some sites have access to electricity. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase. We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended. Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping. The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. All national forest campground reservations must be made at least seven days in advance. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance online or by phone.
  2. Reservations are often required for sites with hookups, especially on summer weekends.
  3. Advance reservations are not accepted at all White Mountain National Forest campgrounds. Many campgrounds have a selection of sites available only on a first-come, first-served basis.

When to go

New Hampshire's White Mountains are a year-round destination for both summer and winter sports. July and August are the most popular months for camping, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, and kayaking. Fall is the busiest month for sightseers looking to enjoy the changing colors. Fall colors are best from the end of September through early October. Some White Mountain National Forest campgrounds are open year-round, including the Hancock Campground. These campgrounds are plowed in winter but do not have any of the services found in summer.
