HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Learn more about this land: Our property encompasses 3 different campsites: 1.) Camp with Stone Fireplace - a private gravel clearing with functional stone fireplace on an 11 acre parcel. 2.) A Frame to Rest In - a newer addition which is a tiny A-Frame structure close to, but separate, from the Fireplace site and shares a driveway. 3.) Easy Come Easy Go - right off 302 and has a circular gravel driveway easy for RV pull-in with a picnic table and fire ring. --------------------------------------------- Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping. Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores. If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). This is 35 miles through the White Mountains with no gas stations, so you might want to top off while in Lincoln. Thirty minutes east is the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and you will pass the historic Mount Washington Hotel on the way. Fifteen minutes south and you can be at Franconia Notch State Park.

WINTER CAMPING! We have 2 spots with electric and welcome winter campers in any compacity you dare :) Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites are large, private and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 13 sites; 2 large campsites, 6 primitive walk in sites, 3 park and sleep sites and 2 RV camper sites. If our sites are booked, please message me. During the warmer months(Late March-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Some sites have access to electricity. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase. We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended. Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping. The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. There is hiking galore and more than enough to do for all ages.

Even though we haven't seen any there are bears in New Hampshire: Secure coolers, grills, cooking utensils, any food not in use, snacks, and anything with food odors inside the locked compartment of a vehicle or trailer or a bear proof storage locker if available. Wipe off picnic tables and grills. Properly discard aluminum foil used for cooking. Do not keep food/snacks in or around your tent!

Be prepared the final push to the campsite if coming up Franconia is a waterfall then steep hike to tent platforms! We were 4 on a platform, 3 platforms so 12 tents practically on top of each other. In addition, we had two people hanging in her mucks behind us and one in front of us. Unfortunately, there’s always one or two who are super loud. There was even a group smoking marijuana, which apparently is illegal in the whites, but nobody seem to stop them .. very loud ! Water source is a good 2 min hike down steep hill and back up! Beyond this eating area is good- privy is awful with ammonia stench.. main site keeper for that day- wasn’t the most friendly :(

It's astonishing that over five years after Charlotte C. in her comment offered some expert corrections to this listing, the mistakes are still here on this page. Come on, Hipcamp! That isn't very hip! No fires, no picnic tables here. Over at the USDA Forest Service page for this campsite, you can find accurate information and current pricing. Enjoy.

I was the Caretaker for Garfield Ridge Campsite in 2015 and I will be there this summer (2016), too. There are some things wrong on this site about the campsite that are important for the protection of the Garfield Area. The activities at the site include Camping, Hiking, Wildlife Watching, and swimming 3 miles away. Fires are NOT allowed and there is no grill- its bring your own cooking system. and there is NO picnic table. I does cost $8 to stay here. The money is used to buy the bark I use to compost the toilet, and to pay the caretakers for our hard work. Hope to see you up there a this beautiful spot!
