Come relax on this private 5 acre waterfront escape. A long driveway will open up into a cleared lot. The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water. Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent. We have installed a 50/30 AMP hookup for trailers/RV's - we do charge $15 extra per night for hookups, please coordinate with us at time of booking if you will need power for your camper - There is an electric outlet for small electronics like laptops/phones/coffee pot, site includes a campfire area, lots of open spaces to pitch a tent, and an outhouse. Jones Pond is just a few miles away and has a public beach. Take a ferry to Bar Harbor and then retreat to the quiet side of the Bay. Hike Schoodic Mountain and take a swim at the end on Donnell Pond. Restaurants and shops are ready for you in Winter Harbor. Enjoy the sunrise trail for 4 wheelers only a few miles from the campsite. The pit is not to be explored . Also is not part of the campsites that are booked . There is plenty of flat land to stay safe In the meanwhile . there are sites that are semi complete wooded partly . Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included. All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent. A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2025 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2026 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. Happy Dwelling is just 10 minutes from downtown Machias, Maine. It rests on 8 acres of land. Woods create a private and peaceful stay. You may enjoy starry night skies and soft orange sunrises. Just a short walk, is the lovely Sunrise Trail, a converted old train line, for biking, walking, four-wheeling, and horseback riding. Lakes are close by for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Learn more about this land: Open green space surrounded by pine trees. The sites are nestled in spaces surrounded by trees for a sense of peace and privacy. Firepits are at each site. Also on-site, chair and table massage by appointment (I am the Massage Therapist!). We built a new outhouse! It's beautiful! Potable water is available by hose from my house. There are lots of hiking trails in the area. If you're interested in touring some of the towns nearby, Lubec, Eastport, Machias, and Campobello Island are all good choices. And, they all have a hiking trail or two, and I place to have lunch.

*Please read full description before booking. Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Welcome to Lilac Firefly! This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. Upon booking, I will send a welcome email with all info needed for your stay. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily accommodated 20+ campers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and tents are welcome! We previously accepted RVs, but for 2026 this has changed due to tenants now in an RV. There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here too. I travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you. Tucked among spruce, fir, and birch on Sunshine Island in Deer Isle–Stonington, Four Acre Woods began more than 60 years ago as a small, family-run campground known as Sunshine Campground. Travelers from across the world visited this quiet island forest, drawn to its raw beauty and the peaceful energy that generations before us had loved and cared for. The campground eventually closed in the 1990s and sat untouched for over 15 years—its trails, clearings, and old campsites slowly reclaimed by the woods. The land waited, quietly, for someone to bring it back to life. In the years that followed, Caleb, a longtime local operator on the island, took interest in the property. Recognizing both its history and its potential to offer people a deeper experience of Deer Isle’s natural beauty, he began the process of carefully restoring and reopening the land. Local activities include the beach, kayaking, hiking, biking, golf and historical site seeing. Great location near Bar Harbor. The camp setup is nice and Juliebwas fantastic with coordination. You will have a little road noise in the mornings but it wasn't a big deal. Highly recommended if you want to explore town or Acadia.

We stayed in site 1 and we loved the privacy of our site. It was spacious and had both sunny and shady areas. I was able to put my solar panels out to charge the battery and they got full sun. I also left them out for two days without worrying about them getting stolen or something. Jane was responsive, communicated with us as needed and met us on our arrival. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend Jane's place.

What a great spot! Down off a gravel road, with minimal traffic. There is a house you can barely see through the trees, but plenty of privacy. The hosts were great - good communication and even left us a goodie bag with some sweet treats and a deck of cards! (They even left us a couple of milkbones for our pups!) Would absolutely recommend!
