Absolutely beautiful spot. Kyle was extremely friendly and made sure we had all we needed. We felt very comfortable here. The trees were in full fall colors and the lake is beautiful just a short walk down the trail. Glacial erratic boulders surround the site and make you feel like you’re in a park. You can’t really see any other homes in the area from the campsite. Spring fed crystal clear lake with beautiful islands on them. Kyle owner above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We plan to return one day. 9 minutes to a full service grocery store with beer, gas, firewood and delicious whoopie pies. If you forget something it’s just right down the road. Good cell service, just bring your own power banks and drinking water. Small portable toilet was handy and not too bad to use once you realize there’s nobody within view.

Kyle's property was exactly what we were looking for! Private but still close access to run to the store if needed. Can see the lake through the trees. He had water and a table and chairs and a firepit there for us. Would definitely come back!

I had the loveliest week camping in the beautiful clearing on Kyle's property! The site was spacious, with plenty of room for cooking, relaxing, and setting up camp, all surrounded by stunning granite boulders and just a short walk uphill from the lake. Kyle was incredibly welcoming and always responsive if I needed anything. As a woman camping alone, I found it to be the perfect balance of privacy and seclusion while still being close enough to other homes to feel comfortable. I had such a wonderful week - would love to stay here again!

Kyle’s place is very nice! It’s private although you are in a neighborhood. You can see a sliver of the lake, the beautiful large granite rocks along the property. Really felt special.

This rustic campsite is a total gem!! It’s secluded in the woods and the site is surrounded by these beautiful rocks and you have a view of Philips lake from the site. The extra $$ for the kayaks and water front access was worth every penny. We kayaked all over the lake…it was quiet, relaxing and picturesque. Kyle is so kind and was helpful with any questions we had. You walk through this amazing all natural ‘Rock Garden’ to access the water which is on his property, you can’t see the property from the site there is a huge rock that blocks the house, there is distance and privacy between the site and his property. It was the best rustic camping experience. In addition, you are close to town and Acadia park!! Thank you again, Kyle, you were a wonderful host, we are already looking forward to traveling back to your sweet spot, someday!! 🏕️🙏🏼

This place was absolutely gorgeous and our host was incredibly accommodating. I would definitely recommend renting the kayaks for the time you are there. There’s only an outlet on the side of his house across the street and there is only a litter box in a bucket for toilet so if you are not comfortable with that, keep that in mind. Would definitely go back.

Loved staying here! Camp site is private, flat, and surrounded by woods. Short walk on a path to get lake access. Great for swimming and we caught fish right off the dock. I was worried about mosquitoes but they weren’t bad at all. Pre built fire pit was great. Kyle is friendly and accommodating. He checked in a couple times when we were on the dock just to make sure we had everything we needed which was very kind. The general store is only 10 minutes away if you forget anything or need to grab some more food. We are already planning the next trip back!

Basic campsite with a pitfire, a lot of privacy with the clearing and the trees surrounding. The lake is accessible in 2 minutes on foot. Please note that this access is not private but shared with the host (you have to cross his garden).
The location is quiet unprecise (the campsite is located before the address indicated).

Kyle was a very helpful and responsive host. The camp spot is a simple secluded spot in the woods and peaceful. I was able to back in our 13ft long teardrop trailer with a bit of determination. The real value in this stay is having access to the lake. The dock with chairs on the thumbnail is the host’s and not available to guests, which was okay since we spent most of our time on the water and islands.
As it currently stands, the hip camp requires a camp reservation ($100 per night) and a lake access add-on ($50) to get the full experience, which is pricey relative other hip camps at this value. I could see this place being quite a competitive hip camp destination with a reduced price.
