It was a difficult decision to leave our family, friends and what was comfortable to us. About 3 years after our move, our neighbor asked if we were interested in his property. Stayed one night and everything was perfect. Easy to find and good locaton. We walked in the evening to the marina and ate at the Monkey bar overlooking monkey island which we really enjoyed. The next morning we had an airboar ride with River Safaris which is next door and saw Dolphins and other wildlife. We had a great stay at Charles place and Homosassa. Would highly recommend.

Very nice and well taken care of campground. Plenty of firewood all around - forest nook #1 was very secluded and would recommend this spot again! The animals all appear to be very well taken care of (unlike what other comments suggest) and were super fun to see!

We couldn’t recommend this spot more! Such a hidden gem of a location, right in the spring with manatees just outside the launch point. The host is very responsive and everything in the listing was accurate. We have a 30ft travel trailer and it took us a bit to get turned around in the driveway, but honestly we’ve done worse. Just take your time with it and you’ll be fine. Everything was perfect, we can’t wait to come back. Love that a fire pit and wood is available for a fee, hopefully we can use it next time when there’s no fire ban going on. Thank you for sharing your incredible property with us!!

Our stay at Frank’s campground was great! Check in was easy and the ground was level for setting up our tent. After we settled in, he came around to make sure we were all set for the night! We had to leave early in the morning for an activity we had booked and check out was easy.

Super fun to pop up camp here and visit different parks to paddleboard and snorkel around the manatees. We rode our electric scooters to town and saw Monkey Island. Great gift shops. Restaurants. Fabulous place to eat called Crumps I think across the river, about 10 minute drive. Water and electric was available. Road noise is annoying but bearable for the location.

We enjoyed the small town feel of Homosassa. The restaurants and people were so friendly and warm. (Go check out Crumps - a favorite!!) We enjoyed meeting so many new people. The folks at River Safari are great, too. The site is a short drive from a Publix and Walmart if you need anything. We do want to note that the parking area site is actually two sites - one a Hipcamp and the other Harvest Host. As a guest, you will be monitored by camera. There is also a large rental house with foot traffic from the house to the main road, an art gallery open on weekends, and an adjacent rental unit - so be open to frequent passersby, including abundant wildlife. This is not a private site. Traffic on the main road is loud during work commute times. We valued the close proximity to Homasassa Springs. Our Hipcamp host was very responsive. Thank you for hosting us and sharing your neck of the woods!

Great Setting, Full Hookup, Beautiful Dock Area. Host sent very detailed message about the location, rules, & amenities they provided which were greatly appreciated. Location is close to activities & restaurants in Homosassa Springs. Lots of nice details set up at the site like the picnic table, fire pit, lighting, seating on the deck, etc. that made it a very nice stay. Weather got very cold so we were not able to enjoy the dock as much as we would have. Definitely would recommend to others & we would stay here again.

We had a great stay at Frank’s hipcamp. We only stayed overnight on our way south but would have loved to stay longer. The land is beautiful surrounded by forest. Frank was so helpful. We arrived late due to a tire blowout and he drove over to give us extra light. Hookups are new and perfect. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay again.

This is a nice place. We did 4 nights there. Hitting Crystal River, Rainbow River and other spots. Lots of things within 30-45 minutes. It’s a beautiful area with nice trees. One of the pigs enjoyed saying hi. Might have been some homemade blueberry muffins that he liked. The language does make it seem like they have 2 sites around the property and that you have a spot alone, or I just assumed. It is a large shared area for 2. Lots of space but shared. The dog run and disc golf area is large too. Power worked and I have a car freezer so that was helpful, water poured well, and an incredibly fair price. PI tent camped. It’s a VERY sandy area. Dewey mornings got a little messy. The road is a little busier than I thought it would be but still not bad. Couple likely school kids racing back and forth one of the nights. Electric hook up and water worked well, I have a car freezer to plug in and that was necessity. Jessica was responsive and helpful. Met her husband upon arrival, nice guy, even offered to hit the area with a tractor to level it. Her son made a firewood delivery for us as well. I arrived a day late for reservation, and on Christmas and they were very accommodating. The tent zone is a little iffy if it were to rain a lot. The good spots are close to road and away from it are on a downhill slope. Imagine the sand drains well but pouring water out of cooler it ran down hill and I could see getting puddled on a bad day. But beautiful place. Chill environment.
