On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

Great quiet campground! Arrived at night and was a little lost at first since the entrance the the campground is not the main driveway where my navigation had shown - it was a different entrance. The campground was flat and had great space to find a good spot. The porta-potty and sink were clean and maintained. The shower was cold and open, but was fun showering in nature. Also saw some deer and heard animals in the morning. It was a great and relaxing weekend here. 🙂

She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. We bought this 1 Acre property surrounded by crops in 2013. The original farm house was built in 1952. It was a local hang out for all the kids on this road, of which most still currently reside. Our journey started here with a simple little cute house surrounded by dirt... We have worked non stop to make it our home. We've added a shop, built a master suite and put in trees, gains and pool. We built a poolhouse for guests and have added it to the airbnb community. We later built a pig barn and expanded our chicken coop. We enjoy gardening, growing pumpkins for our grandkids. We have multiple fruit trees in hopes to have lots of fruit to share . We love be outside 99% of the time. BBQ & sports, are always enjoyed, especially if it's football! Learn more about this land: Pull in and relax on our little farm. We have gorgeous sunsets and bright stars. We're located amongst farm land, almond and walnut orchards. Our 1 acre has rotating crops behind it throughout the year. Our Rv site sits in the back of our property as seen in the pictures. It has power and water hookups only. The pool and laundry can be used by appointment. Please note, as of now we don't have a bathroom or shower option. Trailers must be self contained. We have tiny rooster, Little John, 17 hens and a mini schnauzer. Fresh eggs are always available during your stay. We’re 2.5 miles from city limits. Close enough to stores and restaurants but far enough away for a quiet stay. We have lots of local winery’s within 20 minutes, hot air ballooning and an abundance of lakes within a few hours. At the "Platform of Pleasure" you will enjoy 100,000+ acre views of protected land looking North to the High Sierra, minutes away from downtown Nevada City and 15 miles from Yuba River Trailheads. Firewood bundles are $1 per stick per stick, (when campfires 🔥 are allowed). There is a $15.00 dog fee per dog/per stay. You can add the dog fee to your booking or pay cash when you arrive. On our property like anywhere in the woods there are mosquitos, so you should bring bug spray. We offer a tent platform, as well as a canvas tent listing. Bright Bear Camp is a private two-acre property bordering Tahoe National Forest. We are located at 4300' elevation down a mostly dirt road along the beautiful Bear River and Bear Valley. This is a very peaceful spot among the trees with a small meadow and creek on the property. As our name suggests, bears are occasionally in the area so keep an eye out. You may also see the spotted owls that live nearby - listen closely for their calls (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Spotted_Owl/overview). There is much to explore in the area and more with only a short drive to the South Yuba River, Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding, Donner Pass, Donner Lake, and Truckee.

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Terrible! Terrible! These pictures aren’t true to what you get once you’re there. None of the campsites are on the water, you have to hike up and down a big hill to unload your car at some sites( like the one I had) and campsites are wall to wall there’s absolutely no room in between they are all super teeny. Also the reservation America got my site switched and the site they gave me wasn’t big enough for a 10 man tent I tried to switch with the people coming in next to me and that lady was rude and awful. I tried to get my money back, but the lady ranger at the front( I think her name was Suzi) already decided she didn’t like me said:”F-you, it’s your problem “. So no I don’t think this place is good at all for camping or day use.

Gorgeous spot at the bed of the North Fork of the American River flanked by forested hills. There's easy access from the grounds to the clean river bed with a beautiful hike extending down the river. Colfax gas stations and grocery stores are a easy drive away. A great home base for trips out to Auburn Quarry or Lake Tahoe. Rangers aren't stationed throughout the day but visit frequently (Kate was a gem and a half). Bring cash! Use the bear box (especially when the campground is a bit quieter). Campers, beware the weekend. Day users may hover and enter your campsite to sit at the picnic tables even when you're standing right there beside your tents.

Ruck-a-Chucky Campground

I'll never return to this campsite while Guy Chrisos is on duty! I had never been here before but I didn’t expect to be disrespected, harassed & ticketed $150 within the first hour of arrival. He had all kinds of lewd names for the men we were with, he ogled another female friend & I while scolding us for several other outrageous claims. Other groups were found with glass bottles but were NOT ticketed and all we did was pull trash out of the river but hadn't thrown it away yet. Plenty of other nice parks in this area where you don't have to put up with this. I'd never recommend this place to someone I liked with Mr. Chrisos on duty. If you decide to risk it be sure to find & read all signage so you don't end up with a court date.

Ruck-a-Chucky Campground

Fire road entry does not require 4X4, stock truck will be fine. Pay by check in box, about $25 a night. Great river access with no potable water. Sites include fire ring and picnic table. Bring your own firewood. Pit toilets are within walking distance from all campsites. Garbage is onsite which rangers change and clean daily.

Mineral Bar Campground is 1 hour from Sacramento (no traffic), and about 10 minutes off the 80 freeway when it goes through Colfax. Great campground, though we had to drive a bit to find hiking. But, Stevens Trail made up for that:
