There is an active farm and wedding venue across the river. You may hear distant noise of their operations or events, depending on the season. Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast. Learn more about this land: Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland. Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States. Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park. We offer two sites; Site A is on flat gravel that enjoys full sun. Site A is across from the large grassy area, perfect for sunning and relaxing. Site B is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. Site B is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in. Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups. The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge. Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception. We do not allow "shower" tents. Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone. These sites are on our private property. For Site A, you may position your RV to view the grassy area and not the house.

Located in the Willamette Valley, where route 240 and 47 meet is the small town of Yamhill. just 3 miles out of town there is a 66 acre farm with forest covered hills, rolling hay fields and a small seasonal creek. We welcome you to come enjoy some peaceful rest on our farm. We have 2 camp sites available and more coming soon nestled in the trees across the open hay field where you can watch wildlife. each site has access to the composting toilet, has their own picnic table, fire ring, access to water, and some extras like hay that can be used for under tents, kindling to help start your fire, a fire extinguisher, access to a propane fire ring during fire danger season, and a few yard games. we do have fire wood available to purchase as well as farm fresh eggs. the camp sites are seasonal and most will be closed for the wet winter months. they will be open from June to September, depending on the weather we may need to adjust the access to the sites. at times they may be walk in only (about 200ft walk) or four wheel drive access only as they are in a low area of the farm and do not wish anyone to get stuck. if access has been changed I will notify you as soon as I can with an update. you are welcome to walk around during your stay, pick some blackberries, apples or plums but please be aware and careful as we do have some poison oak on the property. I encourage you to stay on a path. please message me if you would like a tour of the farm we have a horse boarding stable, rabbits, chickens and goats ( for your safety please do not enter any barns or pastures without permission , preferable accompanied) you can see and hear some of the animals but most are far enough away that they are not disturbing.

Bev and Brenda were so amazingly accommodating! I stayed in the cabin and loved the comfortable bed and the covered deck to sit on. There was also a propane stove to heat up my water. Needless to say, I will be back for sure to do this again. The campground is very secluded from the main home and the road, the running creek was such a beautiful noise and only about 15 paces away from my front step. My dog was with me and he was loving the space to run and play with the ball.

Weekend Trip to Peace on Earth

We had a wonderful time at Brian's cabin! It was clean and comfortable, and the toilet and hot shower were so appreciated! It is truly like being alone in the woods because it is so quiet. We loved playing Scrabble and listening to John Denver on the CD player. Our dog enjoyed the off leash walk up to the water tanks and back - Brian has a gorgeous property. It was a perfect weekend getaway and we can't wait to come back.

Cydnie and Kim were excellent hosts. They got me all set up with propane last minute and the A-frame was so cozy in the winter! I felt so safe and clean. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

1 night at The Retreat at Cannon Beach

Comfortably and cozy for two ppl. Short drive to beach and downtown. Very thoughtful staff, they called me to update about the room access during off hours. Basic Kitchen space and equipment is available. Bathroom was comfortable for us, but if anyone is above 6’2” might have to hunch during shower. We are two ppl with one dog.

Weekend Trip to Peace on Earth

The cabin was peaceful and private, and we felt truly secluded and unplugged from the digital world. Our reasons for going or to get isolated from technology and the Internet and this cabin was the perfect place to do that. Brian was a warm welcoming host and their book of recommendations for nearby hikes and food were top-notch. Gnat Creek was a beautiful hike.

Weekend Trip to Elkenmist

The yurt was a perfect way to winter camp and stay semi-warm in the process. The sauna was restorative and the showers had somewhat warm water (better than freezing!) Lots of woods/trails to explore. Saw some elk roaming on our last mornigng there. Will definitely be coming back when its warmer!

This is a great place to get away and unwind. The cabin is really nice and cozy with all the amenitiesyou need. There is no internet or cell service in the cabin which I truly appreciated. The hosts were great and very accommodating. I will definitely be back and would recommend checking this place out. 5 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

StellaBlue and I had the Best New Years 2026, enjoyed Moses the Donkey Oso much ❣️ I can't even tell you all how BEAUTIFUL the inside is and I never slept in till 9AM! BUT the best of it all is MISS MICHELLE 🪽 Oh my Heavens She is a 🙏🪽ANGEL 😇 The next morning, I met All the Horses and Stella met her Dogs, they had a blast ❣️❣️❣️

Weekend Trip to Creekside Astro-Dome

The Astro-dome was one of my favorite weekend trips in a long time. The hosts thought of every little thing to make our stay here so comfortable including slippers, robes, extra blankets, board games, twinkle lights, coffee and tea etc. The dome was clean and cozy. The hot tub was so relaxing. The trails right from the front door step to the creek were so fun. The hosts were very easy to communicate with as well. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Brian and the fan we wonderful hosts. Very accommodating. Cabin was quiet and welcoming. The bar area was also a pleasant place to hang out next to a fire and relax. My son and i had a great weekend.

Weekend Trip to Kilchis River Retreat

The cabin at Sarah’s place is awesome. It’s warm and cozy with thoughtful touches and the rushing river is blissful. Seeing the salmon spawning and jumping was an extra treat. We loved our stay and are already planning a return trip. The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful - by far the best hosts we have ever encountered on Hipcamp. Thankyou Sarah!!!

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this amazing property in the Witches Cabin. My daughter and I explored around the property and we had the best time. Dionne is a amazing host that helped us find the location and also came out to make sure we were all good at our campsite later on in the night. I recommend going to this hipcamp any time!

The campground closed in 2020 due to Covid with plans to reopen but September 2023 they decided to close it indefinitely

Small and out of the way - makes for a great overnight stop on your way to the coast, or just a secluded weekend trip to hike Saddle Mountain and then relax with a fire.
