D'Ranch at Clearwater is a small, 40 acre hobby farm located on the north side of the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. What started as a simple love of backyard chickens has now become a dream farm for Tracey Durant and her husband Theodore. Nestled in the valley between two forest covered hillsides, and running adjacent to Clearwater Creek on the east and the lake on the south, D'Ranch could not have been a more perfect location for the Durants to plant their roots and get their feet wet. While they continue their love of backyard chickens with their small egg and hatchery operation know as HeebyJeeby Chickens, they have expanded their interests to an array of friendly farm animals including horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, and an occasional turkey or two.

Beautiful little cabin with A/C right on the water. NOTE: This cabin is still considered primitive with no running water. Toilet is located outside and no shower. A wash basin is provided in the cabin. Cabin guests have access to kayaks, and paddle boat to explore the lake. Guests can interact with farm animals, hike the creek and forests, and fish for catfish in the cove. This is the perfect weekend getaway for families, couples, or singles wanting some quiet time. Most sight-seeing adventures are within a 45-55 minute drive including Ha Ha Tonka, Osage Beach, and Jacob's Cave.

This site sits next to an overflow creek that boasts small fish, turtles and frogs. Nice views of the cove and wildlife. This is also near where the lake meets the creek and the White Bass spawn in the spring!

Located only a few dozen yards from the Porta John, and next to the grassy area where the seasonal games are set up, it is the perfect family site! Creek Site 3 is a gorgeous site nestled in a grove of mature trees directly beside the creek. It is a lower elevation site, so will not be available if spring flooding is in the forecast. Perfect Location for Animal Lovers!

My kids didn't want to leave! They loved seeing all the animals but took a special liking to the two dogs, Ellie and Harley. We got a tour of the property on the four-wheeler, took the canoe out, had a fire, and enjoyed the cool weather and sounds of the roosters in the morning. We'd definitely love to return sometime. Great location and awesome hosts!

Tracey and her husband were more than accommodating for our trip. We had a great time camping out on there land. The camp sight was great we were right next to a creek which flowed in to the lake. We saw a bunch of deer walking up and down the creek. The farm is also great lots of friendly animals. I would definitely stay again

Hidden Gem

We setup here as a base camp for a Father Daughter hunt as we hunted a nearby property. Tracey and her Husband were awesome and even let the girls milk a cow. The farm animals are well taken care of and such an enjoyment for the girls to interactive with. The dogs were a huge hit too and love to play fetch. The setting is beautiful overlooking a small lake. Thank you again for your hospitality.

This was our 2nd year we've come down for our anniversary getaway. So peaceful! She has lots of animals to enjoy as well! Great host! We had a nice relaxing time. :)

The views are fantastic. The camping zone is grass covered and flat, right along side the water. The hospitality from the hosts is exceptional and we always feel very welcome. The animals are awesome. You'd be hard pressed to find a better spot in the state.

This place rocks!!!

We loved this place so much, we had the best night of our long road trip at D’Ranch at Clearwater! Tracey was so kind and hospitable to us, we felt right at home. We loved meeting all of her very happy animals and enjoying the beautiful land. There is something for everyone at this hipcamp, we stayed in the no electric cabin and were cozier than in a hotel. Everything is so clean and comfy you will love it here.

Very relaxing location and friendly hosts. The dogs are fun to play stick toss with. Kayaks worked great for fishing. I stayed in Bear cabin on this trip and it was very comfortable. I will stay here again. There is WiFi at the cabins!! Tracy responds fast with messages.

Little slice of heaven

Oh my gosh, nothing negative whatsoever. I stayed in the cabin on the water with electricity and it was exactly what I needed. Tracey was phenomenal and gracious; gave me a tour of the farm and all of her furry tribe, as well as was accommodating with small items I had forgotten. I brought my own paddle board and the area her farm is in is perfect to just tinker around and relax. The grounds itself is gorgeous, so much greenery, so many different types of animals, and just all around serene. I will definitely be back!

What's not to love about this place?! The farm animals are a delight to be around (ask for the farm tour for a "meet and greet" with the animals!) The property is well-maintained, and the cove gives direct access to the lake via paddle boat, kayak or fishing boat. Tracey and Ted are super helpful if you need anything - I forgot contact sol'n and they provided some! The Saturday night bonfires are a fun way to wind down the evening and get to know the hosts and other guests. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature.

Such a great place to camp.

What a wonderful site and equally fantastic host. My only regret is that we didn't have more time. We had so much fun playing with Tracey's aweaome dogs who hung out with us like they were our own. Be prepared to play A LOT of fetch however. Elly was relentlessly bringing us sticks... in a very good way. My daughter was looking forward to petting all the animals, but ended up not feeling well. Tracey took her own time to walk her horse, Blaze down to our campsite to meet us. It was such an amazing gesture and greatly appreciated. I hope to return as soon as possible. Thank you Tracey!

So many activities!

From the moment my wife and I arrived on the farm we knew we were in for something special. The hosts are incredible and there were so many friendly and interesting animals to see and play with. The pigs from New Zealand were hilarious. Our particular camping spot was quite large and nestled into the trees near the water. The views in all directions were lovely and the provided firewood was a very nice touch. Can't wait to come back here!

First time trying out hip camp and have to say it was a wonderful experience. Tracey was an amazing host. The land is gorgeous and very tranquil. The animals are so friendly and loved to interact. Definitely want to visit again soon.

Great place, great people!

This was an awesome camping area, with even better owners. We were 210 miles from home with a busy schedule, so we didn’t get to spend as much time there as we wanted to. We are definitely going to be back at some point with more time to camp. I couldn’t believe how well the WiFi worked…. It made checking in with the wife possible without cell service. Firewood was right there, ready to go… everything was great.

Loved it!

Tracey was very friendly and helpful. She and her husband drove a 4x4 over to our campsite and showed us all the amenities. We loved petting all the farm animals. The campsite was beautiful and by the edge of the lake.

Wonderful last minute getaway!

We only stayed one night but that was our only regret. It was a beautiful place to camp. From the moment we got there until the moment we left we felt welcome and Tracey and her husband were very hospitable! We enjoyed the farm animals, kayaking and playing fetch with Ellie. We look forward to trying a different spot on the ranch with our kiddos next time around. Definitely would recommend!

Tracy’s place was awesome! I originally planned a one night stay tent camping solo, but it turned into two since it was so lovely. She greeted me upon arrival, took me to my spot and made sure I knew she was here if I needed anything. I took walks with their doggies (who ended up being an awesome part of trip) and was able to read an entire book while hanging out in different places in the property. I really appreciated the firewood they supplied! It also got pretty chilly one night and the next morning Tracy brought me some hot chocolate. Now THAT’S a host!! I plan on bringing my grown kids back here in the spring. BOOK THIS PLACE! 🥰

Great farm spot right off the water

We had an amazing time! Awesome little cabins right off the water. Lots to explore. Fun farm animals to talk too! We would definately visit again! Camp hosts were super welcoming and accomadating!! My favorite things were the pitcher wash station, fresh flowers and amazing jean quilts in the cabin. Super cozy off grid cabin!
