Beautiful property near BSF sights!
Gorgeous campsite on a creek, located within minutes of several landmarks in and near Big South Fork. My personal favorite was Colditz Cove, a striking waterfall and swimming hole just ten minutes from the property.
Twin Arches was about 20-25 minutes away. Tons of good stuff really close. If you ask Louanne will provide a list of recommendations.
Our visit was in late September and there were minimal mosquitoes. Temperatures ranged from highs in the upper 60s during the day to lows in the lower 40s at night.
Louanne was extremely accommodating and helpful. Thanks Louanne!

Peaceful Place to Unplug
We enjoyed our stay at Moonlight Ridge. Louanne was extremely kind and answered all my questions about the place before booking. I realized on the way there I had left my tent at a friends place. I remembered Louanne offered a tent rental so I notified her. She had the tent waiting for us at the campsite when we arrived. There was some muddy spots getting in and when it started raining we were afraid we were going to get stuck, but our cars made it out just fine. We have small SUV’s a Subaru and a Volvo. I think any car that isn’t super low to the ground can make it. The campsite itself is super peaceful and right next to a creek. It’s cold so I didn’t get in, but my dog went for a swim. Theres no service which makes it a great place to unplug. There is service just up the road which was perfect for when we needed to route ourselves to a trailhead. There’s plenty of trails nearby in Pickett and Big South Fork. I’d stay here again and would definitely recommend staying at Moonlight Ridge.

Incredible, secluded campsite!
This is an incredible find! The host, Louanne, and her family are very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful, having thought of everything to make this a perfect camping spot. We took a vehicle that did not have 4 wheel drive; however, we were able to park our car and be driven down to the top of the path that leads to the very secluded camp site. We were provided a two-way radio to call up to Louanne if needed which gave a good peace of mind given there is no service. The land is breathtaking with so much nature to appreciate including: colorful mushrooms; a cool, crisp creek for swimming and cleaning; countless species of trees and other plant life all in full bloom when we camped in June; sounds of the forest like song birds, owls, whippoorwills, ducks, coyotes and various insects throughout the day and night; and a spectacular lighting bug display at night that cannot be appreciated with words. The campsite itself has a great, elevated, flat space with straw to pitch your tent; a nice fire ring with a tripod hanging grill that can be lowered/ raised and held our cast iron great; a relaxing hammock; a sturdy picnic table with lots of table space for cooking/prep; several tiki torches along the path from the tent space to the portable outhouse which provided good lighting at night and kept some unwanted bugs at bay; a clothesline; grilling tools and a hatchet; and a very intuitive, strong cache set up over the creek to keep food safely away from the campsite. This has been the best camping experience we’ve had and we probably aren’t remembering everything! We opted to pay the extra charges to have firewood at the site and a dozen green eggs which cooked up to perfection in the morning- literally the best eggs we’ve tasted. We brought our two dogs and they loved the site just as much, if not more, than us! At night we kept them on their leashes and staked to the ground just to keep them from running off after anything they heard in the woods. This place is truly spectacular and has everything you can think to make for a perfect camping experience. Lastly, I was not able to take good photos at night but the stars, moon, and water are just as breathtaking as everything else. We opted to keep our rain flap off our tent and watched the stars as we drifted off to sleep. We can’t recommend this site enough and are excited to plan our next visit!

Nice and secluded, creek was great for kids, just deep enough for them to enjoy themselves, but not too deep to have alot of worry

Amazing place and hosts
I absolutely loved the campsite! Starr and Bryse met us at the parking area and walked us down to the river. Trail was a little wet but they had made a little bridge over the really low spot. Definately secluded. But a 100 min hike down was easy. Coming up was not too bad as it is an easement road. Wildlife eveeywhere! Saw deer as soon as we got to the bottom. Beavers in the beaver pond were heard but not seen. Now the scarey part was the coyotes. As soon as the sun went down they started yapping. Sounded really close but didnt have any tracks through camp. Host does have an adorable great pyrenees to stand guard at night but he is only a pup so cant fully do his job until age 2. There are bundles of firewood available to buy and could use anything laying around to keep the fire burnin all nigh which helped keep them away. Outhouse was interesting, a pop up shower size tent with a bedside commode over a bucket. Worked great!!!
We will be back. Next time when it's a lil warmer so we can enjoy the river.
Thank you LouAnne for the opportunity. Next time I know you will be living on suite and look forward to letting you. Your two boys are amazing. They really know how to live off the land. Being so young they taught is so much. Love you plans door the cabin. Gives is an idea of what we want to do now.
