Glamping Suite 1
This was our first time hipcamping and it was perfect! All we wanted was a complete disconnect, nature, and a comfortable bed to sleep on and Macey’s Glamping Suite 1 had the most comfortable bed ever! The views were amazing…sunsets, moonrises, sunrises..all of it. Macey and her husband are extremely kind and thoughtful. Not only was she super hospitable, but we arrived with a flat tire on our kayak trailer and they insisted on removing the tire for us, diagnosing it with a leaky valve stem, and took it into town and had it repaired for us. We didn’t have to worry about it at all! That was above and beyond comfort care!
The tent was clean, super cute, and equipped with a burner and tea kettle, coffee and water. They have lots of wildlife on the island…heard mice rummaging around at night and plenty of deer. They own horses and cows and goats and chickens. Primitive Glamping at its finest! Soon, they will have a finished full restroom complete with shower. We really took advantage of the yoga deck and played cards, drank coffee, and grounded ourselves back to Earth. This is a spot I would feel safe going alone.

Glamping Suite 1
We loved unwinding in the beauty of nature. No others campers while we were there so we had the whole place to ourselves. Host was responsive to questions and helpful.

Glamping Suite 1
The glamping site was so peaceful and pretty! It was tucked away on the owners land so it felt very private. The host made sure I had everything I needed. I loved the outdoor space and doing yoga on the deck in the mornings.
Glamping Suite 2
Overall - good experience! The tent is perfect for 2 people. The communal fire pit is beautiful! We had everything we needed to cook over the propane camp stove (except a lighter, so we had to make a few trips to the Harris Teeter 15 mins away). Prepare yourself for darkness by bringing a lantern, there isn’t one in Suite 2. Suite 1 we noticed has many more amenities including tiki torches to light the night and keep the bugs away. A fan is provided… but it was unfortunately dead so we couldn’t utilize it.
We would definitely visit again… but with the understanding that we need to bring additional camping items such as a lantern, lighter, and portable fan.

Beautiful Getaway Oasis
I absolutely loved Macey’s Glamping Suite! She was very pleasant with communication throughout. The area felt nice and private while still being in the relative area of people if anything was needed. As a solo female, this is something I value a lot. The scenery was beautiful and I was more than happy to sit and “do nothing” while taking a step away from busy life. Town was fairly close to get anything you may need, as was Sands Beach! Wonderful host recommendation. My pups and I enjoyed it multiple mornings! I would absolutely book again! Possibly later in the year since it got a little stuffy in the tent, but such is summer in the south!
