The property used to hold Glass Feather Studio, which was a glass art studio and is now Glass Feather Lodge. The mountain view from the indoor porch is amazing and there are several places to relax and enjoy this view. There is an outdoor shower and bike wash station behind the lodge and two indoor bathrooms (one with shower) off the porch. The lower Pond Area of the property has a port-a-john near the pond. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. Four-wheel-drive is recommended for rainy weather.

The site's (there's only one!) first appeal is the amazing view of Bull Mountain Ridge. Beautiful all year long, but particularly in late October when the leaves are in their richest colors. It feels private and tucked away, but is very accessible to all of what the Asheville area has to offer. Downtown is a 15 minute drive; ride services and shuttles are both easy to secure and quite affordable. The backdrop of the site is forested and easy to relax in - the understory is maintained for guest use, providing cooling shade with a stunning view. I usually try to say hello to folks and make sure they get settled in alright, but let me know if you'd prefer just to come in and have privacy. Don't feel the need to come to the house unless you can't get a hold of me via text and you need assistance. We loved our RV camping at Williams place. This site is perfect for a small group or family in a quiet setting with a short drive into town. There is firewood you can purchase, fire pit, picnic tables, and outdoor seating. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Asheville.

Great spot for camping. Especially if you want to be close to the entrance of Pisgah. Site 4 is pretty secluded, which was great for bringing the pups, and Hayden was friendly and very attentive to anything that came up. The two outhouses are clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend staying here.

What an incredible find! This Hipcamp site delivered the perfect blend of secluded nature and premium comfort. It truly felt like a private, luxurious escape nestled in the woods. The covered amenity area was a game-changer. The rustic wood counter and comfy seating were great, and the patio heater made spending time outdoors cozy even on a chilly evening. The real highlight, though, was the hot tub—it was clean, and ideal for unwinding after a day of hiking.

Had a great time camping and will definitely be back. Biking from the campground straight into DuPont was a treat. All amenities were as described. Heed the warnings about the gravel drive to the pond campsites; we made it fine with an AWD van but would be spicy in bad weather!

We added an additional canvas top to keep you completely dry and sheltered. This site is totally private among the rhododendrons and has a creek you can hear while sleeping.

William’s campground was so lovely. Plenty of room to spread out and explore. The stars, oh my gosh! We loved sitting at the shared lookout point at night and just staring up at the sky. Check out the spa add-on! The sauna was perfect on a chilly Fall day. Would love to come back in the warmer months.

Christy’s place suited my needs perfectly, I was just looking for a place with basic amenities to get out the cold for one night before starting my backpacking trip. Two things I wanna mention though, if the temperature is dipping below 40°F make sure you have a warm enough sleeping bag or quilt because the little heater they have in there didn’t do much at that temperature, and secondly, I just had a 2 wheel drive truck and the driveway is very steep getting in and out and I was barely able to make it so just keep that in mind. But otherwise, it’s a beautiful place on a beautiful property and I would have loved to stay another night. Only took me about 15 minutes to get to Brevard for some dinner.
