Fantastic place for a weekend camp

This place was gorgeous. The hosts were lovely. The walk to the river was just at a mile. It was beautiful and we had a great time swimming and fishing. The ponds are all over the property and it was fun to watch the turtles, fish and occasional swamp puppy (gator)!
The cell signal wasn’t great, which was a bonus for me because we wanted an electronic free weekend. There’s not much in the way of stores nearby (Cottageville is about 15 minutes away) so bring what you need with you.
The bath house was really nice- hot water was very welcome after long days of fun.
We’ll definitely be back!

We loved the camp space. Note that the bath house is in the front of the compound, where as you will be camping further back. We couldn't find it at first, but when we did it was very nice and clean.

I am very unhappy with the hosts but I can’t comment on the property as I’ve never had a chance to stay there. I have booked a tent site twice here and they have never responded to my request but I still get charged. Last time I booked, I never cancelled so I was charged. I am extremely disappointed. Looking at their website, it seems that they’re now an event venue. I would really like to speak to someone about the $82 I was charged.

This place was absolutely amazing!! Such a beautiful and clean camping site. It was perfect when you come in you can drive straight to the camping site and unload right from your vehicle! With nice clean bathroom/showers a short walk away. You are able to bring your own golf carts/atv with you and if you don't have something like that you can also rent one from them to help travel to the many fishing ponds and to the river at the end of the property. We were a family of 8 visiting and they had one that fit us all and our fishing/river gear! The property was very well maintained. You can tell they take a lot of time and love into taking care of it. The owner's family who live on the property are some of the nicest people ever! They also have chickens, goats, and even a few beautiful peacocks. The kids loved watching and feeding them. Also another bonus we didn't know before booking they even have a electric post you can plug a couple of things up if needed. Plus they are only about 10 minutes from Bee City Zoo which is a must visit place if you haven't been before! We have been probably 4 times over the past few years. Our family loves it there! Which is how we stumbled across The Natural Gathering Grounds Campground! We will definitely be back again! Thank y'all so much for everything ❤️

We come here every year for my husband’s birthday. The grounds are perfect for relaxing, family fun, fishing and star gazing. The river front is perfect with a sandy beach and shade, which makes the perfect river day!

Excellent campground! The owners were very welcoming and helpful, the grounds were immaculately kept and they had many fun things for us to do while we were there. The bathhouse was very clean and close to any campsite on their grounds. I would recommend camping there 100%!

This is a nice property with lots of space btwn the camping sites. There are special touches all around like rose quartz chunks in the bathroom and solar lights around the pond. Unfortunately it rained the whole time I was there so I didn’t get a good chance to fully explore all of the property. Hopefully one day I’ll make it back this way!

It was a great experience camping here. We showed up later in the afternoon but the address was easy to find. There is a camping section past some buildings on your right well marked. We pulled in and setup camp. The property is quiet and beautiful. Each spot has a picnic table and a fire ring setup. Natural drove into the camping area to check to make sure we had everything we needed. They even have firewood to purchase near the camping area. It did rain on us in the middle of the night but we still had a great time. Thank you for the hospitality.

Vintage Camper Ramble on Rose
We stayed in the vintage rv. Very clean, fun and cozy. When it rained we played pick up sticks and Yahtzee for hours. The owners also left farm fresh eggs in the fridge (unfortunately it was too cold and they froze as well as some it my produce) but still a sweet gesture! My son loved the goats and chickens that roamed the farm. Was a bit buggy, so definitely bring bug spray. We also had fun paddling around the little pond in a paddle boat and the owner took us for a little ride down the paths in her golf cart. Overall very pleasant stay!

We absolutely loved camping at Natural Gathering Grounds! We wish we could have stayed another night. It was so quiet and peaceful. We were able to pick any campsite we wanted. The campsites are big and most are shaded. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful and the bathhouse was very clean. The host Angela was so nice and gave us a tour on the golf cart. The animals are so fun. The goats ate our hamburger buns and English muffins which we thought was hilarious! Not a big deal at all-we enjoyed the laugh! Angela and her husband were so kind and went to the store and got us more buns and muffins which they did not need to do. I will be recommending Natural Gathering Grounds to friends and we will for sure be back!

Tent camping at Natural Gatherings was such a fantastic family experience! The hosts are so nice and hospitable. Our children ages 7, 4, and 2 completely enjoyed playing with the chickens and goats on the premises! The sites were clean and they even had wood (logs) to buy for the last minute camper. Over all, it was a great time and I’d highly recommend this location for anyone! We’ll definitely be coming back. Oh, and they have an awesome history serving in our US military.

I really enjoyed my family's stay at Natural Gathering Grounds! The lakes nearby are only for boating, swimming is only allowed in the river that is maybe a mile walk! The path is well maintained, and there are benches and shaded areas if you need a break! The owners were nice and offered a ride a couple of times, which was much appreciated! The bathouse was super clean, and cute.
There were even a few tree swings around which my son loved playing on!
They had goats roaming around that were super cute!
Overall would definitely stay again, though make sure you take most of what you need, the closest store is kinda far!

Definitely the best campground in this area. Campsites are clean, bathrooms and showers are clean the ground keepers are super nice.
Enjoyed the walk down to the beach.

We enjoyed camping at site 2 which was close to the woods. The river was a nice relaxation once you get there (it’s a long walk, but worth it once you get there per my husband as I rode up in the golf cart.) my four year old enjoyed playing with the other kids. The only downside that I found was that the showers do not hold hot water well (it would be hot then go straight to cold). My four year old also enjoyed feeding and petting the donkey they have on the land. I would definitely come again.

Great little spot. Spots are first come first serve. Lots of shaded spots which is great in this SC heat! Bathhouse was clean. The walk to the river is almost a mile so make sure you bring a wagon, golf cart or other solution. However, the hosts were wonderful and gave us a ride if they were going down in their golf cart. Very hospitable! Would stay again.

Great private campground that shows what Hipcamp should be! They might have been overbooked for holiday weekend but Angela was a pro and handled everything perfectly. Loved my shady tent spot under the trees and near the pond! Would book again.

This was my first solo camping trip and it was amazingly peaceful. The free range goats are friendly and the sound of the screaming frogs crickets and cicadas of the night were easy to fall asleep to like white noise. The owner’s mother was super nice and she took me on the cart and showed me the land and the river. The camp spots are well spaced out and it was nice to camp on grass and not rock. The bathrooms are clean with hot showers. The land is very peaceful and you could sit in certain areas unbothered for hours (i did) no mosquitos when I went. Firewoods was available 6/$5. Only negatives were the water station and bathhouse are a little walk away little and there isn’t a grill but I didn’t do much cooking on the fire so these are negligible. But yeah. Love it. Not much cell service but it’s so worth the disconnection.

My girlfriend and I had a great time tent camping on this beautiful property! Neighbors camping next to us were quiet, goats visited us. We received a golf cart tour of the property from the owners mother who was as sweet as she could be. She took us down to the Edisto! Definitely worth the 1 mile walk from the campgrounds if you're not lucky enough to get a golf cart tour. It was a perfect getaway from Charleston! Thanks!
