Such a great spot to get away for a long weekend. The yurt is super comfortable and the stove heated the place up nicely! We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night, and we saw shooting stars! We are already planning a return trip.

My husband, pup and I loved our getaway at Peters’s property. The yurt was comfortable and well appointed for our needs, and the location was perfect for accessing all the nearby hikes. The added amenities of being able to charge a device, and have a cozy place to sleep, just made it even better. Would highly recommend!

Awesome spot. Super close to the Hurricane Mountain bike trails, downtown Conway, great hiking trails. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area for any of those. Hope to be back sometime.

We had a great weekend and the yurt was really nice. Easy to get to (GPS didn’t drop us right off there, but it was easy to find with the solar tiki torches). It was nice to have power and internet as cell service was spotty. Would recommend and visit again. 3 minute drive up the road is the trailhead for Black Cap Mountain. Great hike!

We loved staying at Peter's yurt! It provided all the quiet and serenity we were looking for without compromising on comfort. The firepit area was big and very comfortable. and the yurt was clean and incredibly homey. I would take this over a hotel room any day! Would definitely come back!

The yurt was cool! Very high tech; it has electricity, a tv with steaming services, lighting, wifi, hot water/sink, and a compost toilet. Note: make sure the outside latch to the bathroom doesn’t close when you shut the door or else you will be stuck inside! Thankfully my boyfriend heard me yelling for him at 4 am but it was still scary at first lol.
This yurt is a lot more “on-grid” than expected but definitely a lot of nice touches. You will totally feel comfortable and like not you’re missing anything. Very much so glamping! Not far from town, and only 3 minutes away from the Black Cap Trailhead - highly recommended, it’s absolutely beautiful, 360 mountains views at the top.
Only complaint is how visible the yurt is from the road during the daytime, every single person going by looked at us if we were outside. Hurricane road was busier than expected, even at night. Be careful on the road, as listed it’s very steep and windy, hard to find at night as the coordinates listed only bring you about 1/2 mile up the road but you need to continue for about another 1/2 mile after that. Thankfully there were tiki torches lit up or else we would’ve never found it! Again this was only due to arriving late and in the dark (totally on us). Overall a great location and very well thought out yurt. You won’t be disappointed!

We loved staying in the off grid yurt! We were surprised to find a grill, refrigerator, and fully made bed when we arrived. The yurt has everything you need and is a 15 minute drive to all North Conway has to offer. Peter was very responsive and helpful when we contacted him with a question. Highly recommend!

Black Cap Hurricane Mountain Yurt
Yurt was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a fridge and coffee maker which was unexpected! Loved being able to have our dog stay with us. Close to great hikes and town of Conway. Would highly recommend staying here!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at the yurt. It was so close to amazing biking and the road leading up to the place were even amazing rides. The yurt it’s self was so magical. The skylight in the middle of the roof was honestly the best part of the stay for me. The fire pit was great, the bed was great. the dock, bathroom, picnic table, and shower were all great. Over all it was just a really great stay!

Awesome stay at the Black Cap yurt from the moment we arrived. Directions were easy to follow and Peter was very responsive to our questions. Love the wide open space the yurt afforded us! Our dog enjoyed running around outside and exploring the area on our walks up and down the road. We came prepared with our own linens and blankets and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to see a ready-made bed (quite comfy too!). So relaxing to fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and breezes blowing through the trees, and wake to the morning light streaming through the dome. The location is a quick 20 minute drive to provisions in Conway and a short walk or drive up the road to Black Cap trail. (Would have caught sunset if it weren’t for the little gray rain clouds that seem to be following us on our trip! ;-) )
Highly recommend and will definitely return!

My mom and I absolutely loved this yurt for our girls hiking weekend! It was in a great location, being just a short drive to North Conway and all the hikes in the area. The yurt is huge, and very clean! We were very thankful for the propane stove keeping us warm at night. The stove worked so well at warming the place up you really only needed to run it for a little bit and it stayed warm inside. Fairly easy to find, even in the dark too. We did have some trouble with the solar electricity. The first night we had a fan and one phone plugged in, and the battery was drained at 4am and started beeping and we had to get up and fiddle with it to turn it off. Following night we only had a phone plugged in and it died around 7am right as the sun was coming up. So keep in mind if you don’t want to hear an alarm noise early in the morning don’t use too much power. Not the owners fault, we just thought it could handle more than it did. The road is also close so you will see/hear cars driving by, but this place is still very remote feeling and beautiful, will definitely be coming back some day! 😊🍁🍂🍃

I'm always down for new adventures! When I saw this online I had to book. It was a little farther up on the road then what the GPS says but we found it. Definitely need a truck in the winter to get up the icy road. To my surprise it was fantastic! Beautiful scenery 👌 😍 ❤️. Nice and toasty warm inside. Great sky views at night. Unbelievable!!! Would definitely come back in the summer to see how it is then. Thanks for a great getaway spot.

Super comfortable yurt in incredibly secluded area near that is still close to town and great hiking! Was so impressed by this hipcamp and will 100% be coming back. Bed was super comfortable, stove was warm, and bathroom + sink were wonderful.

Black Cap Hurricane Mountain Yurt
This place is great! I was a little reluctant based on past reviews, but it has been updated and deserves a good review. There are blackout curtains, electricity, and the wood stove was really easy to use and kept us really warm. The yurt is so close to North Conway yet so remote and private. Even though the road is close by, we didn’t encounter too much activity and we’re perfectly comfortable having our dogs off leash. The place was super cozy and had some fuzzy blankets, perfect for relaxing in front of the wood stove 💖 will definitely be returning, wish I didn’t have to leave.

The yurt was great and super cozy. It was a cold few nights but the fireplace worked great and heated it right up. The directions were clear and maps led us right to the site. The only thing I would note is that there were no sheets on the bed so make sure to bring your own sheets and pillow cases. There was little to no service but it’s close enough to town that it’s easy to get to if you need service. Thanks Peter!

Black Cap Hurricane Mountain Yurt
This yurt and campsite have all the amenities you could want, and can’t beat the location! However, it should be noted that this site is not as isolated as advertised. The entire yurt and campsite are viewable from both directions of the highly-trafficked mountain road (I was there during peak foliage season) and every head that drives by turns to look. I could also hear neighbors through the woods running a chainsaw all afternoon. It wasn’t peaceful until the sun went down, and even then there was no privacy from inside the yurt because there are no window coverings. Creepy! I’d stay here again, but definitely not alone.

My fiancé and I loved the yurt. Everything was perfectly maintained and very cozy. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Location is very easy to find and conveniently located. I saw others mention traffic on hurricane mountain road, and while there were cars during the day, that didn’t bother us and once night rolled around it was peaceful as can be with great view of the stars. We will definitely go back again in the future.

The area is beautiful and conveniently located. This is not a tent yurt; it has insulated walls to make for a comfortable stay even in the winter, and it doesn’t get hot inside during the summer until the afternoon. It is easy to cool because of multiple windows for cross ventilation and a clear dome at the top to let hot air out.
The Swedish composting toilet has no smell if you use it correctly: liquid is separated by sitting, and the fan must be on to help dry solids in the composting bag.
In the summer, the site is sort of like having the best campsite in a campground with all the hookups right next to you, but without having to share them. Yet it also has some elements of sites that would usually require hiking into. The car camping aspect, at least on busy holiday weekends, is the road can be busy with motorcycles. Many look from the road towards the porch to see the yurt, but it is possible to park your vehicle at the entrance to block their gaze a bit for a little more privacy. In the evening, there is no traffic and it is very quiet. The next developed property sounded to be at least 100 yards away and we only heard them once for about 10 minutes.
Make sure it is the right fit for you and I am sure you will love it as much as my wife and I did celebrating our anniversary!

We absolutely loved the yurt! Peter was a great host and has created a beautiful landscape to cradle the camp. Unfortunately we could only stay 4 nights due to our tight schedule. Next time we will plan to stay the entire week. Thank you for your hospitality Peter!
