Nestled on the shoulder of Mount Cabot (4180'), our hillside yurt has a stunning vista of the Connecticut River Valley, with Mt. Lafayette to the south and the Green Mountains to the west. Decompress with a hot outdoor shower and cook over the outdoor firepit as the sun blazes toward the horizon, and look up through the yurt's skylight as you revel in spacious night among the stars. The yurt is grid-powered, the stars aren't.
Note: Our wood-fired hot tub takes 48 hours notice for us to make it perfectly hot for you, so please reach out to book it before you arrive!
For an even more immersive nature experience, The Orchard on Apple Hill road is ready for your tent or hammock, along with an outdoor kitchen, two hot showers and compost toilets, picnic tables and firepit, and propane cooking burners. The Orchard's solar kit can charge your equipment and boil a kettle for your hot morning cup.
The Pond on The Hillside is open to guests for swimming or skating at the case may be.
Firewood is included with all sites, so please don't travel with firewood as it's a great way to transport forest-devastating invasive insects.
Hikers are welcome to wander along old logging roads through our sugarbush, and along trails throughout the remainder of the property (300+ ac. total) where there are numerous springs and creeks, mystical softwoods, expansive grassy fields, and a wild apple orchard. Moose, deer, and bear tracks are common, but animal encounters are not - still, please sequester your food accordingly and be mindful to carry out scraps or place them in lidded containers provided.

Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests!
Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area.
Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets.
Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking.
We live one town over and are just a phone call away. If you walk the trails, you may encounter a friendly neighbor's dog but all our guests enjoy the privacy and solitude the mountain provides.

This secluded setting is located on our 13+ acre property, surrounded by a variety of tall trees, with distant views of the farm’s pasture and barn, and bordered by two babbling brooks.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway for two or a family or group experience, the yurt provides a large, comfortable space with top-quality amenities, including Wi-Fi, and is available year-round.
The yurt is 25 feet in diameter, offering 492 square feet of whimsically designed interior living space. With six-foot-tall walls and a skylight, it provides an open, spacious, and cozy stay for up to four guests. A sleeping pad may be requested for additional guests.
This amazing yurt offers a welcoming retreat. Kick back, relax, and enjoy everything Mason and our property have to offer.

The yurt is surrounded by tall maple, spruce, and birch trees. The custom-designed outhouse, outdoor shower (please note: this is an outdoor solar shower available during warm months only), fire pit, and BBQ grill are located just steps from the yurt.
When you arrive, you will walk along Rocky Brook and a two-acre pasture as you follow the trail from your parking area to the yurt. A map of the property is included in your Welcome Guide, where you may explore the paths leading to the pond and Mason Brook on the far side of the property.
The space is heated by a wood-burning stove during the winter months and cooled with a window air conditioner during the summer months. All essential cooking supplies are provided. Guests can also enjoy books, a variety of board games, and cornhole.

The Land
Our home and yurt are located on 2 acres of land with access to 9 miles of dirt roads—perfect for walking or biking. The Andorra Forest Recreational Area is at the end of our road with 11,500 acres of trails. Highland Lake (one of many lakes in the area) is less than a mile away with full lake access.
We have spent the last 20 years cultivating our home and the land: every plant we have planted and every rock we have moved. We have special areas dedicated to honoring the Earth, nature spirits, and ancestors. You may or may not be aware of these areas during your stay, but you are welcome to visit these places respectfully.
People say that the land and home feel "different," and we attribute that to how we have tended the land and how others who have visited have done the same.

We had a wonderful quick trip at Shannon’s yurt! She was easy to communicate with and provided us with lots of information in advance of our stay. The yurt was pristine! Bright and beautiful and so cozy. The deck space is great. There was a small table perfect for food prep on the Coleman cook stove. We used the grill on the deck for burgers. There are lots of cooking tools provided as well as a dish basin and soap. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was so cozy and warm! Looking at the stars through the skylight was my favorite part!! We walked across the road to pisgah for a hike. The gas stove is new and incredibly efficient but a bit hard for us to figure out. We didn’t realize until talking to Shannon and her husband the next morning that the stove auto turns off and kicks back on when it drops to a certain temp. We were manually turning it on and off which meant we were either sweating or shivering in the night. Now we know! And so will you.
There was room in the yurt for a pack and play and a toddler cot. The incinerator toilet was awesome. No smell at all!
Shannon and her husband were lovely to chat with. We can’t wait to come back for another stay at Rest Farm!

Weekend Trip to Back 80 Yurt
Ivan was a great host. He took the time to help us get our gear up the road by snowshoe and made sure we understood how everything worked at the Yurt. He had shoveled out the deep snow so that everything was accessible. The yurt was cozy and warm despite the temps being negative 10 and the winds blowing at 40 mph. We were able to hike directly from the yurt to the peak of Mt Firescrew using Ivan’s recommendations ( about 6.5 miles round-trip). Unfortunately, high winds, low temps, and icy conditions prevented us from continuing to the summit of Mt Cardigan. We plan to come back again.

What a lovely winter camping experience. The yurt was cozy, plenty warm with a comfy bed. Nice bonus to have the heated bathroom by the entrance as well as the toilet by the yurt. We had such a lovely and relaxing time this weekend at the “Mutley” Yurt Site with our two dogs. The property is beautiful and they have done a fantastic job of building out the two sites, which are close to one another to make for a fun group trip, but separate enough to still give you privacy from one another. The yurt was fully stocked with supplies such as cooking equipment, utensils, water jug, LED lantern, propane stovetop, etc. so we were able to pack pretty lightly. We chose to come on a snowy and chilly weekend and the gas fireplace inside kept the whole yurt super toasty, even on a low setting.. so this is definitely winter friendly!
Shannon and her husband were both very helpful with making sure we had everything we needed, including starting the fireplace before we arrived so the Yurt was nice and toasty for us.
We would love to come back and visit again, maybe even with a bigger group since there are the two sites!

We had such a great time at the yurt and exploring the property with our two dogs! Morgan did a great job of showing us everything we needed to know for our stay. The yurt itself is absolutely beautiful and truly makes you feel like you’re sleeping in nature. The location that they chose to build the yurt provides an amazing view of the mountains right out the front window. We opted to use the wood-fired hot tub while we were there and it was a fantastic experience. Although the wood stove was out of commission during our stay, the space heaters that were provided were more than enough to keep the yurt toasty, even during the cold late November nights. We would gladly come back again!

Spent a weekend catching up with friends here. The yurt is amazing, super comfortable and warm with the wood stove, easy to cook on the gas range, water nearby for cleaning up. Brought our own potable water. Nice privy. Left some extra supplies behind for the next people which seems like a well established tradition. We hiked around Welton falls to the AMC lodge, saw a black bear, hiked Oregon Mt the next day. We will definitely be looking to return in the summer.

4 nights at Willard Pond Sanctuary Retreat
This was a lovely yurt, very well appointed with all the right furniture (and not too much) and an efficient wood stove. It's on a quiet dirt road that leads to the boat launch for Willard Pond, so I could drive my kayak down but it was an easy walk when I didn't have the boat to carry. The water's very clear and looks lovely for swimming (just not in November!) and the surrounding land is an Audubon sanctuary with some well-marked trails and great views. (Warning: lots of deer ticks!!) A fantastic getaway!

Absolutely loved this spot and the Yurt. It was so toasty warm and a cozy bed. We cooked on the grill and used the Coleman stove provided. We enjoyed a 6 hour long campfire and toasted marshmallows and played Gin. Loved the furnace / stove in the yurt. The hosts were so clear and lovely. We felt lucky to stay and nest here.
