Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Bring the whole family out for a relaxing weekend of gold panning or metal detecting on my 20 acre claim just down the road from the west entrance to Yosemite national park. Just a stones throw off of highway 120 and a few short miles east of Rush Creek Lodge and spa!
Camp here at Golden Arrow and hide out under the trees along soldier creek during the heat of the day! If you don’t feel like panning there are several good fishing holes to be found across the claim along the approximately 1400ft stretch of soldier Creek. Plenty of level space to park your RV, Travel Trailer, or Conversion Van…
It’s rare to find an active claim that is accessible by 2wd and even more rare to find someone willing to welcome you to pan on their claim and keep what you find! Take advantage of this rare opportunity and try your luck at hunting down some gold on your next vacation!!This parking spot/ campsite has enough room for a motor home, truck and trailer or a couple vans at once. It is a paved road right until you turn into the clearing/ camping area. It is simply the closest camping you can get to the park to rise early to be in the park before 5 am if you do not have a reservation or to wait till after 4 pm … the creek runs right next to the site so you hear the flowing water all night long…
Inclusion policyWe have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination at Hipcamp. We are committed to helping our Host and Hipcamper communities be inclusive.
This campsite offers stunning views and is conveniently located near Yosemite National Park, with a charming creek adding to its appeal. However, some visitors have reported issues with squatters and confusion over whether the site is privately owned or public land. Communication with the host, Kristopher, is generally praised, and he has been responsive, even offering refunds when necessary. Cleanliness has been a concern, but the site's proximity to nature and the park makes it a popular choice despite these drawbacks.

The view from this site is stunning! Kris was an excellent host and even when unforeseen controlled burns caused our site to get smoked out on the last night, he offered a few other locations to checkout and provided a full refund. I highly recommend this site and recommend any other accommodations provided by Kris!

Scam. Go camp here for free!
Tent
This is a scam. The site was clearly marked as public forest land dispersed camping. We drove around looking for other sites that might be what the listing was referring to as there was already another group camping in this spot. The signage and the other group both confirmed that the site is dispersed camping and should be FREE for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors. They kindly let us set up camp next to them and the sound of the creek provided some privacy but ‘Kristopher’ needs to be held accountable for trying to profit off of public lands. This is unacceptable.

Minus the Squatters, it’s a 10/10
6 m campervan · With kids
We loved the site, but we hated the squatters that showed up at 1:30 in the morning. They scared us half to death and woke up our baby. There is nothing to mark the site as a Hipcamp, and there’s no gate, so the squatter’s thought they could just camp there. It was really frustrating that they got to camp there on our dime.
The site itself was very nice. It was beautiful, but be prepared that the creek makes it five to ten degrees cooler. It was easy to find as well.

A Trip to Remember
Tent
The site is very conveniently located near Yosemite National Park. We loved the fact that we were situated near a stream as well. Would have provided a great rating if it weren't for previous campers that left toilet paper and trash strewn about in various areas. Kris, we did a brief sweep and clean up of the area before we departed. I would give the site a good rating overall. Thanks, Kris!
