Near North Cascades National Park
Within a 60-minute drive from the North Cascades National Park Wilderness Information Center.
This place feels like your deep in the wilderness, 4G fading in and out, right on the Sauk river. Within walking distance to Darrington. Downhill mt bike park across town 10 minutes away. Skatepark and pump track in town, 5 minutes away. Its basically on the Mt loop highway. Great access to hikes. Right now were working on cleanup as articles of garbage have been adding up over the long tenure of Busters domination. If you have appreciation for the wilderness and are able to put the blinders on sort of speak, this spot will turn into your next annual getaway. Its within walking distance to town, but has the seclusion that enables a deep breath of fresh air that all of us need nowadays. That being said this is on a property that has been collecting various machinery type stuff, scrap piles, trailers, hottubs, etc. Fairly amusing. The current state of the property tells a tale of a clever contraptionist,(probably not a word) wrench turner, and outdoor enthusiast. Buster is the property owner. He has been developing the riverside for years into campsites that, with a little more cleanup, have unmatched potential. Buster makes a great camp host because of his acute incite of the area and the 'path less traveled' or really, the path not known at all by anyone except by the longtime locals of the area. As you make your way past headquarters the shop and residence and start heading down towards the Sauk river, the raw land start to take over. . There are miscellaneous items down by the campsites as well. A trailer that is in need of a makeover. Some not so pretty stuff that is on its way to the dump shortly. The river loud and peaceful. Steep craggy mountain fall right into the river on on the opposite side. The scenery makes you forget about any of the old miscellaneous items that exist around the camp spots. 5 minute drive to town. Within walking distance.
