This place is magic. Can’t recommend it enough. The attention to detail here is next level, just wow. I only wish the weather had cooperated so we could have stayed longer! Weekend Trip to Taylors Landing Camping Club

My family and I had an incredible experience camping at Taylors Landing Campground, specifically at site 6, and I can’t recommend it enough! The campground is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush tree lines that create a serene, natural enclosure. The layout is perfect—campsites line one edge, leaving the center and far side open for activities, which gives the place a spacious, community-oriented vibe. Site 6, like the others, was impressively roomy, easily accommodating our large group with plenty of space between us and our neighbors, making it feel private yet connected. One of the highlights was the nearby cave, which made for a fantastic casual hike. Our kiddo was thrilled exploring it, and it was just the right level of adventure for a family outing. The host, Greg, truly elevated the experience. He was incredibly friendly, always checking in to ensure everyone’s needs were met. Greg also organized a variety of activities for all campers, including frisbee golf, volleyball, and badminton, which kept everyone entertained and fostered a fun, communal atmosphere. From the scenic beauty to the thoughtful amenities and Greg’s exceptional hospitality, Taylors Landing Campground exceeded our expectations. We’re already looking forward to our next trip back!

Went back and visited early in the season this time and the experience was just as amazing. Gorgeous sunrise, lots of turtles and frogs to see. Great space, when the bathrooms needed restocking it was done almost instantly. Definitely our families favorite spot for the year!

It was right on the C&O canal which was really nice. I recommend site 11 since it’s on the edge of a row of campsites and you won’t have other people on both sides. Host provided more than plenty of firewood.

Weekend Trip to Sleepy Hollow Campground

The a-frame cabin was very clean, easy to keep warm with the space heater, and comfortable! The campground was busy, but this was too be expected on a holiday weekend. The campsites were just much closer together than I had expected. It was nice to have a trail near by to take short walks on. The bathhouse was clean. Angela said hello as I was leaving, and she was very kind!

Sleepy Hollow was a wonderful camp for a weekend get away- especially if you're looking to spend time in the local state parks for hiking and boating without being tied to one in particular. Angela was a wonderful host and the improvements made to the campground are evident and made with love. Can't wait for our next visit!

Nice Hipcamp that is convenient to the Blackwater Refuge and Harriett Tubman museum and other attractions. Great little general store at the front with everything you need and a cute little cafe’. This Hipcamp has multiple camp spots that are tight against each other so if you’re looking for something with more privacy this isn’t it. Overall, great Hipcamp!!

We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a narrow valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing in our pastures. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.

The National Park District owns the house which is right in front of the path that leads to the vacant lot. Also I have a legal easement to cross the national park districts land. And there is a kayak drop in off of the Antietam Creek to the right just before entering the path next to the historical Harpers ferry Rd bridge Location Location——- Antietam Creek bridge / Harpers Ferry rd. / Antietam Creek / White House on corner (national Park district owns White House on corner) You will see a red gate that you will pass during daylight hours 1000 feet on your right from there is raw land on the Antietam Creek. The only way to get in the property is to walk past the national park district during dusk to dawn hours. Please abide by these rules. It makes it safe for the campers, but if you do not comply, you will not be allowed back and the police can be called because this is the national park District that you walk past. We do have a legal easement agreement but that easement is only allowed Daylight hours. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing. Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. Whether you’re vacationing along the Chesapeake Bay, hiking and backcountry camping in the northern mountains, or driving your RV along Scenic Byways, there’s an adventure to suit all tastes. Summer is the busiest time to visit, when crowds hit the beach resorts along the Atlantic coast, but the mild temperatures of spring and fall are ideal for camping and outdoor activities. Winters are cold and snowy, so opt for a cozy cabin rental instead.

Western Maryland

Misty mountain peaks, dense forests, and sparkling lakes await in Western Maryland, which stretches from Hagerstown to Deep Creek Lake. Follow the Mountain Maryland scenic byway through the Allegheny Mountains, rent a canal boat along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, or go whitewater rafting in Swallow Falls State Park.
