Round Lake State Park

Round Lake was created when glacial activity in the Pleistocene Epoch did some stuff. Okay, so geology isn’t always our strong point, but you’ll hardly care about that uninspiring history lesson when you arrive at Round Lake State Park. This pristine park takes up 142 acres of land and 58-acres of lake in Northern Idaho, and it’s full of wildlife like Canada geese, osprey, beaver, and more. There are three hiking trails in the park, allowing you to scout out beaver lodges, dams, and ponds. If you’re really lucky, you might even see a moose. If lounging is more your style, simply mozy on over to the swimming beach. The lake is hugely popular, and things can get a little cozy during the summer. Be sure to plan ahead and reserve your campsite! You wouldn’t want to miss out on the lakeside fun.
