Forest, meadow, and a delicious mountain range view....this property feels secluded with one residence besides ours in view, yet is only a few hundred yards off of Hwy 93. Easily accessible whether you're a cycler or RVer. Our acreage is smack dab on an elk route from water to the hills, so when they are using this route, we see them every few days. Deer, coyotes, eagles, hawks and owls are frequent guests, with occasional drop-ins by wolves, moose, and bears. We are mid-build on our home and have a lively family and dog. The two RV spots are about 25 yards from our house, so be aware we will all be sharing the space, to a degree. There is plenty of space for your dog(s) to run. We should communicate to let our dogs meet, but if they get along, no leashes needed. Many summer nights we host bonfires and music, but we're not too wild; things will quiet down around 11 p.m. Water and electric are solid; wifi from the house may reach you. Black and gray water dumping is available for a fee. We are mere minutes from many local lakes, 25 minutes from the Canadian border, 12 minutes from Eureka, 2 minutes to a gas station, 45 minutes from Whitefish, and about 70 minutes from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park.

Traveling this gorgeous country extensively since she was 12 years old, Charlie fell in love with the west and North Idaho. Finally, in 2016 she purchased this little slice of paradise in the remote Far North Idaho wilderness where she turned an old hunting property into an Offgrid Homestead. While many places have been stripped of trees only to be replanted by all the same species, this place was sustainably and privately logged and much of the natural tree diversity exists. Not many places can you find many different firs, pines, larch, cedar, alders, and birch all in one place. Perched at the edge of wilderness areas, national forests, and timberlands but just off a main road, you find yourself transported into the wild in a short drive! The property is frequented daily by all types of wildlife and is hugged by TWO mountain ranges. The homestead is managed in a permaculture design with back-to-Eden and HuglekulUtr gardens to have minimal impact on the land. Learn more about this land: Easy access just 1/2 mile off main paved road with views of BOTH the Purcell and Cabinet Mountain Ranges. Our little slice of paradise is a great stop on your way to/from Glacier National Park (100 mi) or to come enjoy all that North Idaho and Western Montana has to offer. We are just a few miles from the Montana border and you can walk from your campsite to Kaniksu National Forest. We're just a 15 minute drive to Bonners Ferry where you can enjoy the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, Snow Creek Falls, rent kayaks and venture on the Kootenai River, visit the Boundary County Museum, an Antique Mall on the way to town is always full of treasures, play at Kootenai Casino, visit wineries and breweries, many great local restaurants boasting great cuisine with small town charm including an AMAZING farmers market every Saturday May - September and great downtown shopping. Or if you are up for a scenic drive you can venture to visit the Yaak Falls, Kootenai Falls, Ross Creek Cedars, Baldy Lookout, Schweitzer Ski Resort, and much more. Here at our little offgrid homestead you have choice of tent camping in the forest or tent/van/car/rv camping in our field next to the Larch grove and Timberland property. With the river close by eagles are frequently soaring overhead. Turkey, deer, and elk are passing through daily. And there is no neighbors to be seen except our small chicken flock and you may be greeted by Buddy the Dog! Although if you are not a dog person feel free to let us know and we will accommodate you! If you have any questions about local activities, we'll happily provide you with great ideas and directions. Farm fresh eggs and firewood available for purchase and 5 gallons of non-potable water available with use of provided offgrid foot pump sink. Please note there is no cell service. If you want peace and minimal contact we can email everything in advance to have your accommodations met upon arrival and if you want to stop and chat about local activities or the offgrid homestead life just say the word; we're happy to be hosting you and want to make your experience a good one in any way we can! There are no small town main streets or stores, fancy restaurants or coffee stands, not even any museums or other touristy attractions..... what you will find is a remote, peaceful, serene, and private setting with a great history and relatively easy access to any of those things; all less than 30 minutes away. You'll also be in close proximity to Glacier National Park, Whitefish and Flathead Lakes (plus countless other lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams), as well as all of the other wonders the Flathead Valley and Northwest Montana offers. Along the driveway where the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness can best be seen across our grassy pond, the view has always captivated us, so we dropped a tiny cabin here. It’s a magical rustic blend of off-grid simplicity and curated luxury. We built the Cabin with the intention of doing things differently and because we believe we’ve succeeded in this concept, finding the words to define it has been a challenge. It’s somewhere between guest lodge and summer camp. When you come here, you have to expect that you’ll also be doing things differently. Like preparing your food over the outdoor fire or the outdoor cook stove, and heating water to wash the enamel plates in a basin after your meal. And in learning how to use the composting toilet (don’t worry, it’s in a room of its own off the front porch!). Instead of a shower, you’ll have a forest sauna and a dip in the creek. Bring your ice chest and your favorite camp cooking meals. You can find details on exactly what is provided below. The single room has handcrafted custom everything from the queen sized bed to the built in counter. Outfitted with a blend of vintage treasures and thoughtfully sourced high quality pieces like the tiny wood stove with a glowing glass front and the organic linens inviting you in. This is a space for you to soak in nature and connect over the campfire, or across the board game by the light of candles. When the sky is clear you’ll be able to stargaze from bed and when you wake you’ll be greeted by ducks on the pond and a ceramic mug waiting for it’s French pressed coffee. Slip on your boots and your coziest sweater for a walk down the driveway. Reconnect to the simplicity that is possible in this life. Due to the rural location, you have access to hiking trails, lakes, ponds, and rivers literally within walking distance. Relax, go for a run, hike into the mountains, swim, whatever suits your fancy. This is a relatively secluded location. The cabin is within seeing distance to our main house where we live, and you'll also see another occupied cabin to the right of the pond (our friendly neighbors). Our winter visit to the Far North was excellent. The cabin was a perfect place to spend time together. We loved the selection of books available to visitors during our stay. It was great to have kitchen equipment and to use it easily. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy on snowy, cold days outside. The Views are stunning, with no one around but our family. It was ‘dry’ camping because of the late season, but that did not stop us from having quality time together. I love that Paul provides firewood. He was great at communication and make us so welcome at his property.

We really enjoyed our time at the Cedar Grove Campsite! The setting was beautiful, peaceful and serene. The river was just yards away from our camper. The bathroom and shower buildings were very clean and well equipped. We were able to explore the property freely and felt comfortable and able to relax. Our dog was able to roam around with us as well. She loved it! Paul was easy to communicate with annd answered all of our questions ahead of arrival. Highly recommend the Copper Creek Falls hike. Short and easy, with picturesque falls at the end!

Shayne and Ryder are great people! Very friendly and they made sure that we had everything we needed when we checked in. Shayne even took our son to feed the horses and play with the goats while we unloaded our stuff. The Airstream was comfy and clean and Ryder made sure we knew how to work everything. It's very close to a couple different parks on the lake for swimming, fishing, etc. We'd definitely stay with them again!

Loved Paul’s little slice of the outdoors. Everything was thought of. Hookups , Bath house and bathroom right near the site. Lots of privacy. My boys loved fishing and exploring across the river, and Copper falls was a good hour excursion right around the corner. Only thing I accidentally over looked was this place is by the railroad. My toddler wasn’t such a super fan of that in the middle of the night , so if you’re tenting it just be aware it comes a couple times at night. Mosquitos are vicious - pack allllll the candles, spray and torches- day and night. We will be back next year, this place is so tranquil and leaves so much to be appreciated .

Note: We have a Bonners Ferry, ID mailing address but our physical location is approximately 30 miles North of Bonners Ferry and 1 mile South of Eastport, ID. We are a mile South of the Canadian Border just off US 95. Also, please note: Our tent campsite and RV campsite have separate booking sites but share the same shelter and toilet. If you book either site the "other" booking site is blocked during your stay. You are in a forest on land shaped by the last Ice Age, The forest has nurtured generations of of wildlife including majestic birds of prey. It sustained the Kootenai People before borders separated their lands. It saw determined miners pass this way seeking their fortune in gold from British Columbia. This forest supplied timber to build railroads and homes for families in the western migration. Our family is the current steward of this forest and it is our wish to respectfully share its beauty and observe its wildlife with your family and friends! Our Forest is surrounded by Kaniksu National Forest which is managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS) as part of the Idaho Panhandle. National Forest.. The Moyie River ( say Moy-yay) has headwaters at Moyie Lake in British Columbia and feeds into the Kootenai River (say Koo-ten-e) just East of Bonners Ferry. The Moyie River is 95 miles long. The area is private, so there is no view of the neighbors. You’ll have a broken view of the Host’s Cabin. Camp is situated on 15.4 acres of Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night, it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the campsites. There is no mobile phone service at the campsite . There is WiFi at the campsite shelter. We strongly suggest you activate the “Cell over WiFi “ function on your smartphone BEFORE you arrive/lose cell signal so you can access Emergency 911 Services. There is a fire pit (firewood provided), covered shelter, a USFS-style charcoal grill, (bring charcoal and starter), picnic table, benches, bear-proof food storage box and TEMPORARY trash bin. Please plan to "pack-out" all of your trash and recyclables. There are a lot of deer roaming the property, along with many birds and other wildlife . OUR NIGHTLY CHARGE Includes all the firewood you need and a 10% Hipcamp Service Fee. It does not include 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Convention and Travel Tax. Be Bear Aware : From April 1 - November 1 all food, beverages and trash must never be left unattended and, all of the same, be stored properly. Our Bear Box is large and can accommodate your supplies and cooler.

My land is very private surrounded by beautiful mountains, forestry, wildlife and streams/creeks. The lake has a great beach front for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, etc. There's a boat launch 3 miles away for bigger boats or pontoons. My property also provides direct access to hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, horse trail riding, biking, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. Want to bring your horse? We also offer horse camping, trail riding with overnight trail camping options and stall boarding. Round pen and outdoor arena available soon. If you are looking for quietude, this is your spot! Twenty acres situated minutes from lakes, rivers and US Forest Service land. Partly forested and partly pasture land, we boast Aspen, Fir, Spruce and Pine trees. Wildlife that commonly pass through include coyote, elk, deer and badger. Lots of bird life from woodpeckers and blue jays to eagles and owls. Fuel, groceries and river access available a short fifteen minute drive away. Lake access is only twenty minutes to the closest, Murphy Lake. Half a dozen other lakes within a thirty minute range. We have a campfire ring set up at your RV/Camp site and camp wood is available. You have fresh, potable water on site as well as electric hook-up. No RV dump available. We are pet friendly! Since we do have neighbors and wildlife, we require pets to be leashed when not secured in our fenced area. We are located outside of the range of cell service when on-site however we do have wifi available at the host cabin.

Below is the latest updates on visiting thee Park in 2025. Not mentioned below is that the use of shuttles proved veery popular with our guests last year, but nobody had problems booking the night before. Glacier National Park announces timed entry vehicle reservation pilot for 2025 WEST GLACIER, Mont. [November 7, 2024] – Glacier National Park will once again implement a pilot vehicle reservation system in 2025, from June 13 to September 28, 2025, for the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and the North Fork. Visitors can begin making advance reservations on February 12, 2025. Reservations will be required from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. As in previous years, visitors may enter reservation areas without a reservation before or after reservation hours. New in 2025, the park will be piloting timed entry reservations for the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and the North Fork. Visitors will enter the park according to the time block they have reserved and can remain in the park for as long as they like on the day of their reservation. Visitors who miss their reserved time block can enter after 3 p.m. Multiple time blocks will be available between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Additional information regarding time blocks will be announced in a separate press release. “In 2025 we are continuing successful measures from the 2024 season, including access to Apgar Village, Two Medicine, and the East Entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road outside of the vehicle reservation system. Within that successful framework we are going to try timed entry to see if we can minimize congestion, optimize visitor arrival, and improve visitor experiences,” said Glacier National Park Superintendent Dave Roemer. “Timed entry has proven to be a valuable tool in other popular national parks and should reduce congestion and wait times at the West Entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road.” West Entrance One timed entry reservation per vehicle will be required to travel Going-to-the-Sun Road beyond the Apgar Village area from June 13 through September 28, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can enter before 7 a.m. or after 3 p.m. without a vehicle reservation. Like previous years, visitors with lodging, camping, transportation, or commercial activity reservations can access their intended service within the Going-to-the-Sun Road reservation area with proof of their reservation. Only commercial reservations that originate beyond the Apgar vehicle reservation checkpoint and west of Logan Pass will provide entry in place of a vehicle reservation. As a reminder, lodging, camping (including Fish Creek and Apgar campgrounds), and commercial activity reservations originating in Apgar will not provide access beyond the Apgar vehicle reservation check point. North Fork One timed entry reservation per vehicle will be required at the Polebridge entrance station June 13 through September 28, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can enter before 7 a.m. or after 3 p.m. without a vehicle reservation. A reservation is not required to access the community of Polebridge which is located outside the park entrance. Two Medicine Valley and St. Mary As in 2024, vehicle reservations will not be required to enter Two Medicine Valley or the St. Mary entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road in 2025. Entry may be temporarily restricted at certain times of day (typically between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.) when areas become too congested. Visitors with service reservations (e.g., boat tours, lodging, horseback ride, guided hikes) in these areas will be permitted entry during temporary restrictions. Many Glacier Valley As the park has previously announced, the Swiftcurrent area of Many Glacier Valley will be closed to public access during the summer of 2025 due to ongoing construction. The closure will greatly reduce the amount of available parking in Many Glacier Valley. The park is currently researching access alternatives for the valley in 2025. More information about 2025 visitor access options will be announced in a separate news release. Vehicle reservations and entrance passes Vehicle reservations will only be available on Recreation.gov, the Recreation.gov mobile app, or through the Recreation.gov Call Center (Reservation Line: 877-444-6777). Each of the specified areas of the park will require a separate reservation. Visitors will need to set up an account on Recreation.gov to obtain reservations. The only cost associated with booking a reservation is a $2 Recreation.gov processing fee. Vehicle reservations will be available through two booking windows. · A portion of reservations will be available 120 days or approximately four months in advance, starting on February 12, 2025, at 8 a.m. MST on a rolling basis on Recreation.gov. · The remaining vehicle reservations will be available at 7 p.m. MDT for next-day entry starting on June 12, 2025. In addition to a vehicle reservation, each vehicle entering the park is required to have an entrance pass for any entry point into the park. These passes could include any of the following: a $35 vehicle pass, good for seven days; a valid Interagency Annual/Lifetime Pass; or a Glacier National Park Annual Pass. A vehicle reservation does not include an entrance pass, and the park entrance pass does not serve as a vehicle reservation. Pursuant to the American Indian Religious Freedom Act of 1978, vehicle reservations are not required for tribal members throughout the park. Visitors are encouraged to check the park website frequently for updates and additional information.

Catch wild rainbow, cutthroat, bull trout, and whitefish only steps from your spot. This stretch of the river has over 4,000 trout per mile and over 900 ft of private fishing with many more miles of stream access up and down the river. Launch your drift boat or pontoon for an easy 6 mile float to the Yaak River pullout. Rides may be available to ferry. We respectfully request catch and release fishing only with artificial lures and flies in order to preserve this precious wild resource. Easy access to many thousand acres of public land for hunting, hiking, fishing, exploring and sightseeing including the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness Area. Whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, moose, lions, grizzly, wolf, and black bear viewing almost daily depending on the season. We see more animals within 10 miles here than the last few times we visited Yellowstone or Glacier Parks! Very basic amenities in a rustic peaceful setting: * 2 water only hookup spots on the river * 4 dry camping areas in the forest * Pets on a leash OK * Please refrain from loud music and generators * There is a waste dump site within 1 mile Access via a 200 yd driveway and 100 yd walk to the river spots.
