Legacy Creeks Ranch

A great location far from town that's quiet, relaxing and provides an amazing stargazing experience at night. The hosts are wonderful people who bend over backwards to take care of you while giving you plenty of privacy. While it is a drive into the mountains (about 4,000ft elevation according to my phone), the property is easy to find and accessible via paved roads if arriving from the East/Whitefish. There's no cell service, so bring a satcom system or use the one generously provided by the hosts. The two RVs sites are in tandem along their access road. They're not private and may take bit of leveling on your arrival, but are easily accessible by even large trailers.

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect quiet getaway for us. We really enjoyed the pond for the dogs to swim in. The wildflowers covered the property. It was lovely. These hosts were top notch. Very friendly as well as informative. We plan to make another visit when we can

Great hosts! Nice location with a pond (well cared for) and creek on site. Stayed in a camper, water/power/sewer were great. Flat area. Lots of deer. Very quiet area, great to sit and listen to your surroundings. Property very well cared for. Internet was pretty solid. Streaming video was great, sometimes MS Teams didn’t like it but that platform is sensitive. Calls over WiFi were perfect. Did I say the hosts were fantastic? Be aware that it’s a bit of a drive from whitefish so plan ahead for drive time. Stayed for 3 nights. If in the area again, this place is my first choice.

A Quiet and Peaceful Escape

The RV site at Legacy Creeks Ranch (LCR) sets the bar high for all other RV sites on Hip Camp. From the detailed directions & communication we received as soon as we booked the site to their gracious welcome, the hosts made us feel right at home. They live on the ranch, but were in no way intrusive. The RV site is situated along a wooded side of the property facing a large meadow, pond, and Mountain View. Deer graze in the meadow at dusk and the openness is perfect for night sky views. The site is a level pull through site with great water pressure, electric, sewage, and the best WiFi we’ve ever found while traveling. Because it is set on the edge of the national forest, there is no road noise. LCR is close enough to Whitefish to enjoy the restaurants and shopping, but far enough out to feel away from everything and everyone—a quiet and peaceful escape.

Tranquil Stay with Gracious Hosts

Our stay at Legacy Creeks Ranch was phenomenally peaceful. We stayed for a month and truly enjoyed the tranquility of this land. Both James and Debbie were so helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. We even had my in-laws stay in one of their cabins when they came to visit and that was such a bonus! Their cabins are so well crafted and really give the farm house feel. My little one year old loved running around the property and playing and our dog was so happy to be off leash the entire time! If you’re thinking about visiting this area, you can’t go wrong! Just be sure to back your coolers before the long drive from town, because it takes about 45-60 minutes to get back to a store…which that kind of remoteness makes for some great stargazing! We even lucked out and caught the Perseid Meteor Shower! It was spectacular! Thanks James and Debbie!

This was a beautiful property. We loved staying here and will definitely be back in the future! Our dogs loved the freedom they had, kids loved the water to swim in and we loved the peacefulness of it all. I worked from this site a few days and the internet worked great for me. Ultimate Montana Camping Experience

This property is absolutely the best! We were here 6 nights and enjoyed everything about it. The rugged, raw Montana beauty, peace and quiet, nearby lakes, visits from deer, and two days spent at Glacier National Park. James and Debra were awesome hosts and took care of every need we had. Amazing!

This property sits on 100acres next to thousands of acres of forest service. It’s the last residential property before making your way to Silvia Lake only 10mins away. Such an amazing property. James and Debra were incredibly hospitable and have done an unbelievable job with creating the space. Complete peace and quiet here. Saw many deer, fished in the meadow creek, enjoyed our solo stove fires and grilled food. Will definitely be back, thank you again Hames & Debra!

This was a beautiful spot! The hosts are super helpful and gracious. We holed up for three days enjoying the mountain air and loved it! It's off the beaten track, so if you're hoping to get out in the mountains, this is perfect. Kids swam in the creek, went fishing and had a great time.

We just spent 11 nights at this beautiful property...and we would have loved to been able to stay longer! What an amazing place! It is extremely secluded and remote to get the true feel of the Montana wilderness. We saw many deer as well as moose and elk near the property. We spent several days fishing at beautiful nearby Sylvia Lake. The stargazing every night was absolutely phenomenal! We also spent time in Glacier National Park and all around Flathead Lake. The drives were always full of amazing scenery and never felt overwhelming. James and Debby are the perfect hosts. They truly care about you and your whole experience, not just at their property, but all of your Montana adventures! They have found the perfect balance of being there for you in a completely unobtrusive way. Ask for ideas and suggestions! Their wealth of knowledge will enhance your trip. James even let our dog spend a day with him so we could enjoy a day of non-dog friendly activities! I can't say enough great things about our stay at Legacy Creeks! Thank you James and Debby!

Our favorite Hipcamp stay, ever!

For the last 3 years, we’ve lived in our trailer about 9 months a year and traveled and stayed in gorgeous places in 30+ states. Legacy Creek is our favorite. Fantastic hosts, quiet, beautiful setting. An outdoor paradise—hiking, biking and paddle boarding. Thank you for everything Deb and James!

Wildlife, Stars and Quiet

Debra and James have a wonderful location for camping. They were very helpful and friendly. The location is about 30 minutes outside of Whitefish and is very quiet. There's a river running through the property, ponds and lots of beautiful trees and wildlife. We stayed at one of the two RV sites and had great WiFi reception. We saw deer and elk on our drives to and from the property. It's far enough away from the city lights that we were able to see the Milky Way. They gave us great advice about things to do around the area and how to get access to Glacier National Park. James was eager to help us with anything we needed.

Surrounded by beauty and peace

Amazing. Everything about it. From the views to the wildflowers to the kind and considerate hosts. We could not have asked for a more perfect place. It is remote so no traffic and city noise but still an hour drive will get you to everything you need. Full hookups, water is so clean and the WiFi is great! Love the mulch circle drive to park on and the setup is perfect for an RV, no matter the size. Our kids enjoyed playing in the trees and feeding the fish. It has so much space to roam and view wildlife!! And did I mention how wonderful and accommodating the hosts were? James and Debbie, you went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thankyou!

Loved our time at Legacy Creeks

Camping in our RV at Legacy Creeks was wonderful. It was quiet and so peaceful. James was around each morning but not intrusive and super helpful and responsive to each text. The wifi was great since there was no cellular coverage. We loved staying there and would recommend it to anyone!

This property is absolutely beautiful! It is near to lakes, forests, and hiking trails to explore, and or you can sit, read a book, and enjoy the day by their pond. James and Debra are amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. I truly could not recommend this place enough!!

Excellent Experience, 5 STARS!

This stop was an absolute GEM. Legacy is off the beaten path just enough, but close enough to go out and explore. At Debra's place you will feel nothing but welcome and lucky to have found this beautiful little stop. We pulled in with our 44 ft RV and ended up staying an extra night. What you will find at Legacy is an impeccable property with fantastic and kind hosts. Our kids spent time feeding the fish in the pond, enjoying the outdoors and passing out treats to Debra & James's two gorgeous and well mannered Labs! While lodged at Legacy, we took a day trip to Glacier National Park, visited Whitefish & Kalispel, all close enough to Legacy and quaint little towns for a visit with great food. The property at Legacy is easy to navigate in and out of with a large RV and we had plenty of space to hookup and enjoy the outdoors. James and Debra were great at communicating how to navigate to the property, about any recent wildlife we may encounter and were so pleasant to rent from! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the area. 5 stars for this one!!! Thanks Debra & James for sharing your place with our family!

🍾A Toast to the Host🥂

Being a Hipcamp host myself, I'm well aware of the hard work that goes into being a host. We are now full time "RV'rs." This was our first eperience as a Hipcamp Camper 🏕. Everything about Legacy Creek shows the dedication Jim and Deby have in presenting a beautiful and welcoming place for their guests. They are incredibly attentive to making your stay everything it can be. They checked in regularly with us, making sure we had everything we needed. They have an expansive and well maintained property with an awesome trout pond and expansive views of the mountains. We loved feeding the fish. There's plenty of gravel and paved roads around to get in an intense 🚲 bike ride, 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ run or 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ hike in for your healthy lifesyle. Nightly and morning visits from deer were awesome! We enjoyed driving to Glacier for the day and then returning to their peaceful camp to chill. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thanks SO much Jim and Deby for your WONDERFUL hospitality! We sure hope to see you again on our journey! 🥰

Absolutely amazing!

Absolutely amazing is all I can say. 30 minutes up in the hills from whitefish so you can escape the mass of people in town and 15 minutes from a Great Lake to swim when it’s warm out.Great views, full Hook ups ,Wi-Fi, pond with trout and amazing hosts make this place one of a kind. They met us at the top of the drive to greet us and once parked welcomed us with huckleberry jam and food for the fish. What was most apparent thought is James and Debbie truly care about their guests and always go the extra mile to make sure your stay is the best. We will be returning, next time with our dogs as they are very pet friendly as long as your pet is friendly.
