This farm is ancestral land of the Sauk and Fox peoples and has been our home since 2001.
It offers diverse natural beauty including fresh springs and the Tetes des Morts
Creek, quiet woods on sloping bluffs, various songbirds and other wildlife. We tend a few sheep and a flock of 20 laying hens, a small orchard and large vegetable gardens. Our black Labrador retriever wanders around here freely.

In the foreground is a natural field with small Cedar trees, Scrub Oak, Sumac and prairie grasses where deer often eat and bed. Built in 1860 by its first caretaker botanist, this homestead was propagated over its many years of life and is busting at the seams with medicinal and edible herbs. n*Everland Barnyard is an eccentric art installation space created from found, recycled, and repurposed building materials in the heart of Grant Wood Country in Jones County, Iowa. We are not a commercial campground. We focus on Zen, mindfulness, peace, and tranquility. Firmly in the realm of Outsider Art, Gothic and rustic, Bob Kellogg has created a place unlike anywhere else in the world that represents freedom and inspires endless creativity. The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within walking distance and less than a mile from our land.

You will be sleeping beneath the stars; which are never ending when the lighting bugs are around. The smell of fresh cut grass envelopes you and the soothing melody of running waters surrounding you. Once in a while if you are really patient and quite you can see wild animals like deer, turkey, coyotes, and maybe a fox or two. One of the few signs of people will be an occasional car passing on the gravel road. There are many local attractions such as out door theater, winery, and local festivities in near by Richland center. One of the highest recommended activities is kayaking on the pine river. We bought the farmette with much work outside and home interior remodel to complete. We slowly turned the property into our family oasis. We neighbor a pasture with cows. There are free range chickens running around during the day. Geese greet us every evening and morning at the pond...as do the many bullfrogs. Occasionally you'll hear the coyotes, but they keep their distance. The stars shine peacefully and the sunsets are picturesque (most afternoons). The pond is a great place to swim and fish. The hillside is a nice walk for exercise or take the easier route and sit under the great oak tree in the other pasture. Campsites are off the road, behind our main home. You won't find a sign...we keep it simple.
We allow pets at the sites for a $5 per pet/per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed on the Extra during the booking process.
We have firewood available for sale, $5.55/bundle. This is located in the Extra section during the booking process.

Forty acres of woods, meadows, and fields, in the Heart of the Driftless Area, offers space to unplug, slow down, renew and rejuvenate. On a dark night, stargazing is glorious, and some summer evenings one can barely tell where the fireflies end and the stars begin.
Also available here is a sound therapy studio with gongs, crystal and metal bowls, wave drum, hoop drum, chimes, and more. Our location is about 13 miles from the town of Viroqua, which has a wonderful Saturday morning farmer's market May-October, the renowned Driftless Cafe, and the Viroqua Food Co-op, among other things. The Organic Valley Food Co-op was established in this area in 1988, and the area in known for an abundance of fresh organic 'farm to table' food. The famous 'Driftless Books' is also found in Viroqua, along with live music on Court Street every other Saturday. Music in the Parks also offers live music in the area on Wednesdays throughout the summer.
We are 22 miles from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, and a bit further North, from Ontario WI, one may embark by canoe or kayak, through some of the most stunning landscape to be found in Wisconsin.
This area is called The Driftless because it lacks glacial drift, which refers to the deposits of silt, gravel and rock that glaciers would have left behind had they passed through this part of Southwestern Wisconsin. The area is unique in that the land here was never flattened by the ice that came through most of the Midwest during the last glacial period/ice age. When glaciers were in surrounding areas, the melt-water sometimes made its way into the Driftless Area and contributed to the formation of the valleys and bluffs which characterize the landscape, which is known for steep hills, forested ridges, deeply carved river valleys, and karst geology with caves and spring-fed cold water trout streams. Ecologically, the Driftless Area's flora and fauna are more closely related to those of the Great Lakes region and New England than those of the broader Midwest and central Plains regions.

The property is 125 acres, triangular in shape and bound by low-traffic township roads on two sides and by farmland at the back of the property.
We have valleys with three ridges, total elevation is about 300 feet from low point to high point. We have two springs on the property that are the source for a small unnamed creek that feeds into Trout Creek and then the Kickapoo River.
The property has walking paths in the grassy pasture areas in the valley (partially mowed), unmowed trails up and down the hillsides and on the ridges, and a high bluff overlook.
We are between the towns of Soldiers Grove and Readstown, 2 miles from the Kickapoo River and US Highway 61 on paved roads. There are public restrooms with showers a 5 minute drive from site in Soldiers Grove, where there is also an RV dump station.

We were passing thru on a Van roadtrip and needed a place to park and stay pretty short notice. We were delighted to find N*everland and Xenie and Bob were kind enough to host us last minute. They have a beautiful property that we enjoyed walking our dogs around. There was a bathroom and shower available to us, which was a bonus. Anamosa is a cute town and we were a very short drive away from downtown for dinner. Overall a very pleasant stay and a very friendly and communicative host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Everland! Robert and Xene have crafted a peaceful plot of land where you can park your rig, kick back and enjoy some peace and quiet. Take a nice walk on their trails or nearby Wapsi State Park. They provide plenty of dry firewood and a clean restroom with a shower as well as a portalet in other areas. Their chickens produce some tasty eggs! Their outdoor sculptures and whimsical ways or repurposing everyday items is inspiring!

Finding a place to unwind from urban jungle is hard to find, especially during the dead of winter, but Mary's cabin is a golden nugget just accross the Mississippi. I had a wonderful time at her Wifi free cabin, as it allowed me to read books, relax, and disconnect from my regular hustle. Mary's cabin is cozy and comfortable. With the firestove, it warmed my body and warmed my soul. I am glad to have found her cabin. I will be returning to Mary's cabin either in a warmer time or back again for another wintry retreat. Also being greeting by their dog, Cleo, is a wonderful delight in the morning. Thank you again Mary for your hospitality. I hope to talk to you again.

Such a lovely space in a gorgeous place with great hosts! Betty and Ed were super welcoming, friendly, and accommodating to our needs as guests. Their land is stunning and it was so nice to step right outside the cabin to go on nature walks. The nearby towns are fun to explore too.

The surrounding hills and trees are beautiful. The only challenge was finding a flat spot for tents. A couple areas aren't too bad, but most of the clearing is on a bit of a slope.

This was a trip for my spouse and I to celebrate our anniversary, and it was the absolute best experience to have one-on-one time away from kiddos and to be in nature. Betty was a wonderful communicator, very thorough in her instructions and directions, and gave us the lay of the land upon arrival. We were kicking ourselves that we didn’t reserve more than two nights. From hiking to fishing to cooking outside, firepit, cards and movies inside, it was a lovely experience. The cabin itself was perfect. Brand new and very functional. We truly had everything we needed and more. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

This place is everything. My friend and I booked with Jessica last minute for a night after getting rained out of our original site, and our only problem is we wish we could have stayed longer. Cozy campsite, Jessica is an INCREDIBLE, generous host (with great soaps), and what an amazing, magical piece of land to be on. Also- world’s cleanest porta potty. Had to say it. What a super cool place! Robert and Xene are incredible hosts, with the most epic camping world ever. The art exhibits are beyond wild, and fun to explore and get lost in. The camping was serene, including visits from deer and turkeys. The free firewood was such a nice touch, as was the ability to buy fresh eggs from their chickens. We had such a great overall experience and can’t wait to visit again!

Weekend Trip to BoscoBelle
The view at Boscobelle is great and David was very welcoming. It is set in a valley so the sun gets to you in the late morning. I have seen other reviews saying it is not level. It does have an incline but there multiple places where it is very easy to set up a tent and be perfectly comfortable.
It is close enough to town that anything you may have forgotten or want access to is a five minute drive away. It was a great way to usher in fall.
