Everything was wonderful. It was a very cozy stay and we loved being on the New Hope Farm with Mary and Rick. They are such nice people and we enjoyed visiting with them and exploring their property, especially the woods and meadows and springs. The cabin was just what we needed, very comfortable and with the basic necessities for glamping that made it ideal. We hope to keep coming back and to experience all the seasons there.

Finding a place to unwind from urban jungle is hard to find, especially during the dead of winter, but Mary's cabin is a golden nugget just accross the Mississippi. I had a wonderful time at her Wifi free cabin, as it allowed me to read books, relax, and disconnect from my regular hustle. Mary's cabin is cozy and comfortable. With the firestove, it warmed my body and warmed my soul. I am glad to have found her cabin. I will be returning to Mary's cabin either in a warmer time or back again for another wintry retreat. Also being greeting by their dog, Cleo, is a wonderful delight in the morning. Thank you again Mary for your hospitality. I hope to talk to you again.

This was a perfect, off the grid cozy stay. It was pretty chilly while we there, but we were still able to see a variety of birds and wildlife!

For me it was a time to see all types of wildlife. I saw small birds as the harry woodpeckers and large as the great blue heron. A mink even came to visit from the stream. Two lovely dogs also came for a short visit as well. I place catch with one of them. The cabin is immaculate and ready to meet your needs. The hosts communicate with you and willing to help in anyway possible.
There is a small library and my favorite were the Flannery O’Conner stories. I sat in the hammock outside as I read. At night I sat by a fire and watched the half moon rise.
The cabin is private and looks out on a meadow on the front and the back screened in porch has a view of the stream gently flowing. You can walk the land and find a path leading into the woods then to a huge meadow. It is a wonderful get away from it all place just to Be.

My cabin stay on New Hope Farm was everything I was hoping for and more! Private and serene, with plenty of land to wander.
The cabin is quaint, with thoughtful details and supplies for renters. Many birds and wildlife.
Location is perfect for those who want to explore the country and also be close to Dubuque for quick runs.

Mary was an exceptional host--very communicative and accommodating. The cabin itself is a perfect retreat with a well stocked cooking area, a comfy bed, and a serene view. Would definitely return to enjoy Galena, the Maquoketa cave State Park, and the farm.

My husband and I stayed here for our 15th anniversary. The cabin is absolutely adorable, the property is beautifully peaceful, and the location just outside the city affords both serenity and a wealth of activity options. Being truly off the grid (no phone, no internet) was such a breath of fresh air. We would love to stay again!

This cabin is in such a beautiful location between a spring and a meadow. Mary was very thoughtful in furnishing everything we would need. We had a very relaxing weekend and would definitely come back again!
