I'm located between Wisconsin Dells and Lyndon Station on a cozy little 3-acre corner lot at the intersection of Highway 12 and Oak Glen Circle. The property is mostly wooded with beautiful white oak trees that I've done my best to preserve. Each year, I welcome nesting bluebirds, robins, and ruby-throated hummingbirds as well as many others. You'll also find several bird feeders that attract a wide variety of songbirds, along with squirrels, rabbits, and woodchucks that call the property home. Please note: I do have neighboring homes nearby, but it's a very quiet neighborhood of homeowners with no noisy renters. Please also note that as the host, I do live on property. I offer you your privacy but on occasion you may see me outside doing random chores on property. Please also note, I have 2 dogs. They are very friendly animals and it's very possible at some point during your stay, they may introduce themselves to you. Thankyou for understanding. Nearby Attractions Wisconsin Dells – Just 3 miles away, offering endless attractions, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. River Bay – Only 2 miles away, with Wisconsin River access and a public boat launch. Bring your boat and experience one of the best stretches of the Wisconsin River. The fishing is excellent, too. Dells Motor Speedway – Just 1 mile away. Races are held every Saturday night, and the speedway has a long history of racing tradition. It's always an exciting experience, and I've been attending since I was a kid. Chubby's Exotic Resort – Located just 1 mile away. Everyone is welcome. Chubby's is a premier club offering one of the best experiences of its kind in the state. The Edge – Located directly across the street from Chubby's, The Edge is family-friendly and features live music on weekends, along with a full food menu. Please contact them directly for more information. There's no shortage of things to do in the area. Wisconsin Dells offers a tremendous variety of attractions, restaurants, and outdoor recreation. cabin is an off-grid, 12'X20' insulated structure, with a 7'X8' loft and a 12'X6' screened covered porch/deck. That overlooks a small stream and a cattail marsh. It is in the center of our 90 acres and is very private but near to some rural houses, only our house is (barely) visible in winter and you might see some lights of one other neighbor when the leaves are off the trees. We are 1 and a half miles from the village of Belleville and 5 miles from New Glarus. The Badger State Trail runs across the western edge of our property. It connects with the Sugar River State Trail 8 miles away. Near by New Glarus has many shops, restaurants, Baily's Run winery and the famous New Glarus Brewery (tours daily). Everything can be easily reached by bike or, in season, snowmobile. The marsh is a haven for all sorts of birds and wildlife. Spring brings an abundance of winged migrators and returning residents. There are: sand hill cranes, red wing blackbirds, a number of ducks; buffleheads, mergansers, woodducks, blue winged teal and shovelers just to name a few. The American woodcock can be heard overhead most spring mornings and evenings. The spring peepers (small frogs) are a symphony on their own and they continue into early summer. The woods has many spring flowers and the fall colors are wonderful. In summer there are many song birds like: bluebirds, finches, orioles, humming birds, cedar wax wings, robins, cardinals and herons. Sitting on the screened in deck one can hear a kaleidoscope of bird songs and activity. And an abundance of fireflies in later May through late July and then some. The cabin is off-grid, what that means is: there is NO RUNNING WATER in the cabin and only a chemical toilet (port-a-potty). A limited amount of water is supplied for drinking and washing. There is a sink with a drain in the cabin but no bathroom or refrigerator so bring a cooler. Very limited electricity. There is basic LED lighting and you will be able to charge your phones/devices. The power is supplied from batteries/inverter charged by solar panels on the roof. There are LED lights and a coffee maker. There is NO air conditioning but excellent ventilation and a small, cozy wood stove for heat. If you're uncomfortable or unfamiliar with a wood stove, it may not be wise to stay here in the winter heating season, but we can show most people how to use the stove safely. This is still considered "camping" so be prepared to bring camping gear: your own pillows, sleeping bag, food, drinks, cups, plates, cooking utensils etc. There are carryout options a short drive away. The only thing you won't need is a tent, the cabin is very cozy, warm on the cold days and cool on the warm ones and there is a picnic table, lawn chairs and a gas grill with a side burner. There are a few spots around the cabin for tents if you have additional friends staying. There is an additional charge for additional guests (over 2) but please be advised: any loud "parties" or disturbances and you will be asked to leave. This is a place to enjoy nature and quiet time. To get away from it all. No extra charge for children 12 or under. Insects are a part of the woods environment, if you're afraid of bugs this may not be the right fit for you. We rarely have any real issues, so we're reluctant to use toxic chemicals to kill most (normal) bugs. Normal bug repellent is about all that is necessary. Why we have this cabin; It's a way to share this special place that, judging from the artifacts found here has been a camping area for thousands of years. We want to let others enjoy the seasons; the return of the migrating birds, the spring peepers in the marsh, the fall colors, the silence of a winter day in the woods and the warmth of a wood stove. (many people have found the stove to be their favorite feature) The cabin gives you a front row seat in the middle of, comparatively, pristine nature. Campers will have access to our fine trails for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and biking. (we would allow a snowmobile from the State trail to the cabin). All campers take note: 1. Please do your best to arrive/check in before dark! The cabin is dark; no yard lights, no streetlights, and if it isn’t a moonlit night, it IS very dark. Some of you are not used to real darkness. We provide some flashlights and headlamps (if you forgot yours) and there are LED lights in the cabin we keep charged for you. Camping headlamps are great for cooking, using the port-a-potty and finding your way around, etc. Bring yours or you can borrow ours, just ask. 2. Take safety precautions with the wood stove and learn how to use it correctly. The only source of heat in the cabin is a small, very nice wood stove. Those without any experience with using wood for heat are advised not to stay at the cabin during the cold season. Those that are eager to learn--we can help you, but safety is very important and you must at least have some basic skills to handle wood heat: using a propane torch, using kindling, splitting wood, operating the stove airflow. 3. Campfires: Campfire wood can be purchased for a reasonable price @$10 for a tote, or @$20 for a large pot/container. We do allow people to bring their own if they are coming from less that 50 miles away. Some exceptions do apply. 4. It has been very enjoyable meeting the many campers. Everyone has been very well prepared and it has been a pleasure seeing them have fun. We especially have enjoyed the families with young children and people with their dog(s). All have been very well behaved and very enthusiastic. 5 Dogs are welcome, but please let us know if your dog does not get along well with other dogs, so we can let others know. We have a young golden retriever that is very friendly and does very well with other dogs, kids and all people. If your dog doesn't get along with others (dogs or people) please let us know in advance, so we can warn others and please, for safety, keep them on a leash. Your hosts, Dan and Anne

We are in the heart of Amish settlement and are close to many Amish stores, bakery and produce stands. We are 6 miles from Ontario, canoeing capital of Wisc, on the Kickapoo River, Wildcat Mountain State Park can be seen from our ridge top  Kickapoo Valley Reserve is minute away for hiking adventures.We have 2 attached bedroom and rooms to our barn. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a full bed, the living area has a twin sleeper sofa. Also included is a coffee maker, microwave, electric fireplace, fan, and freezer. We have a porta potty with lights right next to the barn. There is hot and cold water and a wash tub in the barn. You can share your morning coffee with our calves and turkey chicks, We have several miles of groomed paths on our land for hiking. Deer, turkeys, song birds, foxes all can be seen on the property. There is a gas grill, campfire ring, and large overhang with picnic tables . We also have hookup for electric and water for campers. This is an easy pull-through camper hookup on each end of the barn. Sparta and Viroqua are a half hour drive for dining, movies, music festivals and farmers markets, We are beautiful 45 min drive from Lacrosse.

My Dog and I usually tent camp, but we decided to "glamp" for a couple nights . Yeah I checked out this property a few times to actually tent camp but then I thought the camper would be kind of fun and a little less work. We had an absolutely amazing time and it was a very cool piece of property at the campers on. It's awesome nice to have plenty of restaurants and activities to do nearby as we did a lot of hiking and spoiled ourselves eating out. I highly recommend this place to anybody who enjoys staying in a pop-up camper. It is not an rv, but it was comfy for us. Steve is an awesome host as well.

I had such a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful with so many gorgeous sunsets! It is such a peaceful and relaxing place. Christine gives you privacy but is only a text away if you need her. Christine went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. There were fresh flowers and treats waiting for me when I arrived, including some of my favorite candy bars, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. She was incredibly kind and full of great recommendations for things to see and do in the area. She would even periodically send me messages about local events and activities happening during my stay, which was so helpful and made it easy to discover things I might not have found on my own. You can tell how much care she puts into making her guests feel comfortable and making their stay special. I truly appreciated her thoughtfulness and hospitality, and the beautiful sunsets were the icing on the cake. I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a memorable, welcoming, and relaxing getaway!

My Dog and I are traveling and decided to spend a couple noghts in the Dells. We usually tent camp but found this cabin for a reasonable price so we gave it a shot. I knew it was very basic with no linens provided or a bathroom, but the portapotty was literally a short walk away. It had A/C so I "assumed " it had heat too. It does not, so make sure you prepare for that. Other than that, it was great.

Dan was a great host, and the cabin was beautiful. Dan has really thought through the experience he wants folks to get out of their stay. Lots of well thought out amenities including multiple LED lanterns, vacuum, fan, some cooking equipment, pumpable water, etc. It is well worth the price. The many trails accessible from the campsite are well manicured and fun to explore. Also, the property has excellent cell/internet reception unlike many other rural hipcamp sites. My wife and I will definitely return.

We were so happy to find this dome after a last-minute electrical issue with our camper changed our plans. It ended up being such a wonderful find! The fall leaves were absolutely beautiful, and the property felt incredibly private and peaceful. Our dogs loved having room to roam and explore. It was also conveniently located so close to Siren, where we were able to shop, grab food, and enjoy the charm of the small town. The dome was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We had such a great experience and honestly can’t wait to come back!

First off, the location is perfect. It's super close to multiple state parks and Wisconsin Dells. The area is cute, private and has a huge fire ring with firewood readily available to use. Steve was really friendly and helpful and super communicative before and during the trip. He helped us figure out everything we needed to know and his dogs are super friendly and sweet. The camper itself was cozy and comfortable. Really great price for the location and everything included. Would stay again!

This was such a perfect little cabin! Don’t be fooled by the word rustic. There is heat! There is electricity, 2 burner camp stove, mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker, as well as pots, pans, and dishes. 2 fans were also in the cabin. The outdoor toilets were clean and there was a water spigot to wash dishes and hands. The bed was comfortable. The view from the property was beautiful. You could see so many fall colors. There were many groomed trails to explore. The stars at night were incredible! A great place to connect to nature and heal. Beth and Pat were responsive to any questions I had. Peaceful, clean and relaxing place to get away from the city noise/distractions. Christine is a very welcoming host and available. Beautiful property and farm animals. Got a chance to milk a baby calf , walk the country roads and visit the Amish which was a highlight. 2nd stay enjoying with my fur baby who enjoyed as well. Extremely safe for a solo female traveler. This is a great little cabin on an interesting property. There's a little walking trail on the property with a creek (seasonal dependent) but the real stars are the trees and quiet. The cabin has the bare essentials - I imagine it would be a little hot in the summer but perfect for chilly temperatures with the wood fired stove.
