My husband Rob and I own a 40 acre property approximately 10 miles from Bayfield, Wi. We have a micro organic farm with hundreds of wild apple trees and believe in leaving the land better than we found it. Rob loves permaculture, managing soils, pruning apple trees and feeding his community nutrient dense food. I work as a hospice nurse and help out on the farm when I am able and we have 2 boys, Arlo and Owen. We keep busy! We offer 3 rustic rentals onsite, but each is very private and secluded. Hi there!
We have 5 yurts spread across our 40 acres with each yurt having lots of individual space and privacy. We hand built our yurts from scratch using wood from our land and local lumber, as well as sewing all the vinyl ourselves. The yurts are almost completely locally sourced, everything was handmade by us, and sustainably sourced. We are really excited to share the land we love with folks from near and far.
Your yurt is equipped with a full sized futon, two burner stove kitchen with all cooking appliances and utensils, 2 gallons of fresh drinking water (as well as oil, salt, pep, coffee, and tea all provided), a small dining table with chairs, and an outdoor fire pit.
A short 7 min drive from our property is beautiful Little Sand Bay beach. This free, public use National Park beach is gorgeous with views of Sand and York Islands, great swimming spots, $2.00 hot showers, and kayak launch.
Important things to note about your yurt site! The access to our property is via a long dirt road, this road is accessible for all vehicles but it is about a 2min drive through the woods to get to the yurt sites. Once you arrive on the property your yurt is a 2-4min (depending on which yurt you choose) hike up a hill from the parking area. I recommend backpacking in your items. Wheely coolers and bags will not enjoy the terrain. The Portapotty is located at the parking area as well. That being said, a little bit of walking will be involved in your stay :) If you love walking you are in luck and can explore the trails on the property!

~What to Bring~
-No bedding is provided. Please bring your own sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and linens.
-Only a tea pot is provided.
-No cookware or dishes are provided. Please bring anything you'll need for cooking, eating, and drinking.
-Solar lights are provided, but we recommend bringing headlamps or flashlights for nighttime.
~Cooking~
-We encourage outdoor cooking over the fire with the provided grill grate.
-The propane stove is intended for light cooking and boiling water.
-Never leave the stove unattended while it is in use.
-Keep flammable items away from the stove.
-Open a window or open the door slightly while cooking for ventilation.
-Make sure the stove is completely turned off along with the propane located on the exterior of the yurt after each use.
-Never use the stove for heating the yurt.
~Water~
-Bring your own water.
-Empty water jugs and a water crock are provided.
-A low-pressure artesian well is available at the canoe landing within walking distance of the yurt.
-A map showing nearby artesian water sources is available if you need additional drinking water.
~Before You Arrive~

-Firewood is not provided at this time.

-Ticks are common in northern Wisconsin, especially during warmer months.
-Bring tick repellent.
-Tuck your pants into your socks when hiking.
-Perform a thorough tick check after spending time outdoors.
~Before You Checkout~
To help us keep our nightly rates low by avoiding cleaning fees, please:
-Sweep the floors.
-Wipe down all surfaces, including the mattress cover if needed.
-Use the Swiffer on the floors.
-Lint roll the couch if necessary.
-Shake or stomp out the rugs outside.
-Place all trash in the dumpster.

We are an organic vegetable farm and apple orchard. We also raise sheep, pigs, and make maple syrup. Half the land is forested, some is pasture, and other is growing fields for vegetables. We have an on farm store people visit daily. The farm is 10 minutes from the town of River falls which is on the Kinnickinnic River and has some great trails and fishing. We are about 45 minutes from St.Paul, MN.

Very welcoming place to spend time in the woods. My wife and I spent a few days up here for our wedding anniversary and it was wonderful! Isabelle left a wonderful note and flowers for us and The yurt was awesome! Definitely home away from home. Everything you need and the sauna was incredible. The only thing to be aware of is that you can hear a lot of the traffic from the main road that is not far from the retreat.

A magical little yurt village nestled in between the trees was the perfect getaway for a sister’s weekend. We had everything we needed from cooling to heating options to make s’mores fires and loosing track of time in the sauna. You can tell that the details really matter to the owner. This place is very clean and simply ready for any occasion. I hope that when someone finds this listing they don’t think twice about staying here! The yurt itself was a beautifully set up — spacious, warm, and very accommodating. Even with the cool October evenings, the heated yurt kept us toasty, and gathering around for games of dominoes while being warm and cozy. If you’re looking for something memorable and a little different, I recommend this yurt. The blend of nature, comfort, and family connection made it one of our favorite getaways. I had the best time staying here with my dog. The area is far enough away from things that it can be deafeningly quiet at night. Had all the supplies I needed just like advertised. All yurts were reserved and I only saw the neighboring folks as they walked to their car. Never heard anyone! Truly a peaceful little spot and you can tell the yurts were made very well. 10/10 coming back and going to have friends rent the other yurts for a fun weekend. I had just enough cell service to make a call in the parking area, and enough to send and receive texts at the yurt.

Great place to stay! All necessities provided (even coffee and tea)! Peaceful, quiet, and tranquil even though other yurts were nearby you’d never know it. There was a cart at the bottom of the hill for toting your supplies, which was incredibly handy. Lots of downed trees nearby for firewood.

Directions were clear. Property and yurt was beautiful and very clean!!! Host was very attentive accommodating and friendly!! We did not have grilling utensils and I just sent a text and Isabelle brought them right to us right away! This trust had everything I needed for a much needed relaxing weekend. I even ready two books that were provided inside the yurt! Unfortunately I did not get to enjoy sauna due to husband wanting to go to the bike festivities. I will be rebooking next year for a girls weekend! Highly recommend this cute little yurt ❤️

This place was so cool! I loved staying the YURT. The surrounding wilderness and stream on the land made it so peaceful. A lot of bird watching, wildlife sightings, and gorgeous flowers and trees. I enjoyed the comfort of being high up with a locked door and windows open to hear the crickets. I will return for another trip. Anytime of the year would be fine since there is heat and air conditioning. So lovely!
