Onsite we have a brand-new camp store! We also have a large pool and small pool, a gathering yurt for groups and an event pavilion, a playground, and a jumping pillow is in the works! From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. You can hop right off the interstate, roll on in, and find yourself surrounded by Green Arborvitae Trees . Out here, nature does most of the talking — you might spot deer slipping through the trees, a few turkeys wandering by, or bunnies bouncing across the grass.
This is a host-free, self-check-in spot, so no worries about showing up late. Come when you can — just please don’t roll in before 4 PM without a heads up.
We’ve got a roomy drive-through meadow for easy parking, back-in nooks for smaller rigs, and some new cozy spots tucked away for extra privacy. We’re still expanding and adding more, so there’s always something new taking shape.
We keep things simple and seasonal out here. If you’d like some farm-fresh goods, just let us know — we’ll ride up with a couple of baskets when we’re around. Offerings change with the seasons, but you might find fresh produce, homemade goods, or farm eggs when the hens are laying (they usually take a break through fall and winter here in Zone 6).
If you’re looking to hang around longer, we do allow extended stays when space allows — and there’s usually a bit of farm work or odd jobs available if you’d like to trade some time for a reduced stay.

Fun daytime trips are tubing with River Riders, hike the Appalachian Trail, Bike the C&O Canal, or visit Antietam Battlefield and other local Civil War Sites.

Mid-June update: Firefly season is here and it looks to be another good year, although we havent seen biblical numbers like the past years yet. Soon? Under next week's full moon?? The river is at about 85% peak summer quality this week. Very warm and ready for lounging, floating or kayaking.
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. Experienced horse riders can book horse rides for $50/hr. per person. Inexperienced riders must be led using a lead rope. Signed waivers and provided helmets are required.
Our in-ground, unheated swimming pool is open mid-April to end October. $60/hr.

This spot was just what we needed in a quick getaway. The site was lovely and we appreciated the care in setting up firewood for us. A welcome thunderstorm meant we didn't use the firepit, but we did get to see a fawn jump around the field as the rain started. We had such a peaceful evening and awoke to birds chirping and cows lowing. After leaving it was a quick drive to John Brown's cabin/The Kennedy Farm, the C&O canal and Antietam. We would definitely recommend this site and would stay again!

Somehow rural and remarkably convenient- there was a ton just 5-10 mins away. West is super nice and a great host. A very impressive mix of animals on his farm and lots for our 2 yr old to check out.

Camping on Amy and Russ's land was, I was going to say like being at home, but it's way better than home. They have such a lovely spot 😍! The grass is so nice to walk barefoot through. There's plenty of room to relax in peace and quiet. Amy and Russ go out of their way to be helpful if they can with anything you may need. I can't tell you how much they helped with advice and a water heater install! And the other residents of the property are Bonnie and Kevin and they are also very nice and helpful. I'll be back without a doubt. I almost feel like part of the family.

Amy and Russ are wonderful hosts. They go out of their way to make sure you've been well taken care of.
They have enough knowledge and know-how to help you with just about anything for your rig. They have the ability to empty your tanks for you even!
Lots of grass and birds make it so pleasant to just enjoy sitting outside. My dog so much enjoyed being able to roll in the grass and going for walks.
The water pressure is not good 😐. But! I fill my tank and that does work well!
Reception can be kind of spotty? Which doesn't bother me much because I don't choose to be connected quite so much...

Nathan & his family welcomed us to their farm. The spot included electrical hook up, a fire pit & firewood. The farm is beautiful! Make sure to visit the distillery. Nathan will teach you a little about their family business. I walked up to the onsite cemetery. The view from up there was stunning. Hope to get to stay with Nathan & his family again in the future.
