Our sites are completely primitive (no running water, no electricity, no sewer) hike-in or 4WD accessible only, in several locations on the hills behind our residence. Potable water (2.6 gallons in a jug with spout) and portable toilet in privacy tent, or shelter, provided. *Permanent privacy shelter on two out of three sites*
All sites are ideal for tent campers, overlanding-style rigs, or possibly a small, off- road trailer/camper, with fire ring and firewood provided at each site. You will have access to all trails (for hiking only) and shared access to the fishing pond (Catch and Release only at this time). There are plenty of trees for shade, hammocks, etc. There is also an abundance of wildlife: Birds, deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, and even an occasional black bear.
Large firepit at pond for socializing, if desired (Quiet time from 10pm to 8am as a courtesy to other campers).
We are pet friendly as well as off-leash friendly (on leash on trails or pond area if not friendly). *We do have two off-leash dogs on our property as well*

Family-Owned 43+ acres. nearly all wooded. This property has been minimally developed so as to allow it to be as clean and as natural of possible. There are some trails making hiking the property easier. A few locations on the property are available for quite private camping stays or family friendly getaways.
When you drive up the driveway stick to the right. The houses on the left are different properties. Park where the driveway first levels off or up near the flagpole. Trails are not meant for vehicles. Dual purpose / adventure motorcycles are ok to drive right up to the sites. No ATV's
Solar/fire heated shower near the flagpole. Closed during colder months (Nov-April). Always test the water temperature before use.
Hand pulled wagon is there to make it easy to get your things to your site. Return it to the parking/flagpole area when not using it.

Leftovers of an abandoned mine give Lake Hope State Park its rustic charm, where a nearly 3,000-acre lake provides ample opportunity for outdoor fun in the sun. Seven hiking paths and eight biking trails mean you'll have multiple chances to discover the steep gorges that characterize this densely forested area. Hunt in the adjacent Zaleski State Forest or catch some crappie or bluegill in the expansive lake for some fresher than fresh dinner. While we don't allow hunting on our property, PUBLIC HUNTING is permitted in Zaleski State Forest (bordering our property) as well as the neighboring Waterloo Wildlife Area and the 5000 acre Wild Turkey management area.

Located in Boyd County, Ky (less than two miles from US 23), our 50 acres are on a one-lane, dead end road which makes for a peaceful, quiet night’s sleep under the stars and amongst the trees.
Our sites are completely primitive (no running water, no electricity, no sewer) hike-in or 4WD accessible only, in several locations on the hills behind our residence. Potable water (2.6 gallons in a jug with spout) and portable toilet in privacy tent, or shelter, provided. *Permanent privacy shelter on two out of three sites*
All sites are ideal for tent campers, overlanding-style rigs, or possibly a small, off- road trailer/camper, with fire ring and firewood provided at each site. You will have access to all trails (for hiking only) and shared access to the fishing pond (Catch and Release only at this time). There are plenty of trees for shade, hammocks, etc. There is also an abundance of wildlife: Birds, deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, and even an occasional black bear.
Large firepit at pond for socializing, if desired (Quiet time from 10pm to 8am as a courtesy to other campers).
We are pet friendly as well as off-leash friendly (on leash on trails or pond area if not friendly). *We do have two off-leash dogs on our property as well*

They were so kind and helpful! When we didn’t realize JUST how cold it was going to get (17 degrees), they stepped right up to make sure the fire was going a little so we got there in a semi-warm place. A few wasps that were not happy with us bugging them (see what I did there?) greeted us but they love to find places to get in everywhere we go. Their property is SURROUNDED by state and national parks. WOW. So much beautiful history, wildlife, and dirt roads! We drove into Athens for coffee and to Salaam for dinner. We hiked all over Zaleski State Park, saw the Moonville Tunnel, visited Fairfield County Infirmary on the way back home. I can not WAIT to come back!!!

Absolutely amazing site. My partner and I booked this before a snow storm decided to roll in, and we decided to still try it out. The camp site is very pretty and in a secluded enough area that you don’t hear any vehicles driving by. Denise was very kind and hospitable, and offered complimentary firewood to help us stay warm in the sub 20° temperatures! 10/10 and I will be coming back.

Good spot! Creekside site is maybe a little small for tent camping but no issues with a 2-3 man tent. Good spot for a car camping rig though. Great host and the showers are great to have after a day of hiking!

We had an excellent time! We didn’t get to explore much around the camping area due to weather, but we stayed very warm with the wood stove! Everything was so cute and the amenities were so nice! We ended up being over prepared because so much was already provided. Located perfectly to go spend the day at the multiple surrounding parks and trail systems!

We had a wonderful time at the Peppermint Patty Wagon. Austin and Kate were great hosts!
The P.P.W. was a nice camping trailer.
The outdoor kitchen is right up near trailer. We had booked fishing with Austin, that went good. We could not catch any fish because of the weather now, but Austin was too good at it. He even taught us filleting and that was sweet.
We didn’t get to see much of Kate, she was off with her work. But Austin was around like always when we needed something. Also, genuinely impressed by Austin’s knowledge.
