The forest to the west of the Preserve is Washington State land, and on occasion locals go up into the hills to target shoot. In the unlikely event that this happens during your stay, don't be alarmed; the British are *not* coming. This land is a nature preserve with lots of wildlife. You're welcome to bring your pet, but keep small animals close to you as there are coyotes and predatory birds in abundance. Black bears and mountain lions also live in the hills, so please always be cautious while hiking and exploring. Offering a lovely, personal campsite area surrounded by beautiful trees nestled at back of a ranch with horses (and chickens) on the outskirts of the small, charming town of Yelm. (In some of the pictures you will see horses in camp area, but are not turned out when campers are there.) There is 20 amp elec. (which can safely power a 30 amp rv unless you run too many things at once) and water/hose. There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience. We also offer a small bunk room in the barn. Heated and cooled (fan) with a small "kitchen" area, it has a pull out futon which sleeps 2 and requires you supply your own bedding and towels. Our Internet connection out here in the country sometimes has outages which we cannot control. IF having reliable internet access is important to you, we may not be your best choice. 1 Hour to Mt. Rainier Nat. Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia Nat. Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing aplenty. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses, a fabulous movie theater and only 15 minutes to Red Wind Casino. There is a railroad track next to the property, only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but it has never run after dark or early morning. (We are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads and not highly traveled for the most part.) **Trigger Warnings: We are near JBLM military base so you may occasionally hear military doings. Country neighbors occasionally do target practice, so you may hear some shooting. As a horse property, we require that everyone sign a release of liability waiver and show legal ID. * We require a completed profile with a picture before we accept a booking.

This is a 10 acre camp of wooded hills. This campsite currently has an rv pad for rent and a featured camp site with a hobbit house. Soon to be more tent sites. There is a firewood stand on site and bundles are only $5! The hobbit house is built back into a hillside and is underground, round doors, and arched ceiling stays true to hobbit architecture. This is a glamping opportunity. Inside the hobbit house there is a full bed for two, with a quality mattress and an adjustable bed frame that has a motor to lift body to sit up or you can raise legs. There is power inside and a small microwave for cooking. 30 feet away is a sink for cleaning and good drinking water. There is a bathroom area a short way down the hill with a flushing toilet and heated shower. Outdoors includes a fire pit, a few small springs and ponds and lots of trails to explore. Your shelter and mattress will be top notch, however this is still a campground and you need to be prepared as a camper. Currently we do not have a refrigerator, bring your own cooler. No silverware, or plates are provided. You can heat things in the microwave or cook over the fire. Bring whatever utensils are needed. Within a couple miles of our location is Lewis River Golf Course, as well as popular water spotd of Merwin Lake Park, and floating the Lewis River. We have a scavenger hunt set up on the trails of our property if you want the challenge of finding our targets as you walk the trails.

We had an incredible stay and couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the very beginning, Marc was an outstanding host—friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. He was quick to answer our questions before and during our stay, helped us work through a few questions about the water, and was even accommodating with a later checkout. His communication made everything easy and stress-free. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. It's peaceful, private, and exactly the kind of place where you can truly unplug. Our kids spent the entire trip running around, exploring, and just being kids, while our two dogs had an absolute blast with all the space to roam. It was the perfect setting for quality family time and making memories together. One thing that really stood out was how much thought has gone into creating a welcoming experience while still preserving the natural beauty of the property. It felt like a true escape without sacrificing comfort. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with an exceptional host. Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

Alder Grove Retreat was such a beautiful space! It was surrounded by trees and had a beautiful view of the forest. We really enjoyed the sauna and the peacefulness that the space offered. Dawson was very communicative and the experience felt well thought-out. Dawson and Gabrielle are also wonderful people if you happen to run to into them! Highly recommend and would come again

We loved camping at yuliyas campsite! We flew in from out of state, and yuliya provided everything we needed and more to have the best camping and hiking experience. Our site felt secluded and cozy. We were nervous about the only bathrooms being port a pottys, but they were so well kept and cleaned. They were cleaner than some gas station bathrooms we've been to haha exceeded our expectations. Yuliya is a great host!

1 night at All Provided & Stress Free Camping

Wow, this host literally has everything you might need to camp already there and set up for you to just show up and use! It was so convenient, clean, and the level of detail in supplies at each campsite was next level! We had a comfortable stay and will be back. To be able to camp and not have to deal with all of the set up and tear down or millions of little things you have to remember to pack was everything! Just brilliant!

Weekend Trip to HolisticLifeFarm Clatskanie OR

Great yurt on a beautiful farm. The setup has everything you’d need plus a comfy bed. Cardamom the goat was a riot, James the farm dog was friendly. Short, 12 minute jaunt to the (very steep) Beaver Falls trail which leads to the cool waterfall (20 min or so). All in all very quiet and relaxing.

Weekend Trip to Glamping In The Wild

Incredible experience. Marc is an outstanding host. He has created a truly unique and unforgettable experience at the Riverbend Preserve. I am typically skeptical when a listing claims to provide a private and relaxing experience. Let me tell you, this was the real deal. The property is expansive and the acreage is breathtaking and serene. Our two dogs had the run of the land and had an absolute blast. The campsites are pristine and the amenities are plentiful. A ten minute drive away is a small town grocery store which has lovely owners and everything you need to restock. Marc has bundles of firewood that he will deliver to your site upon request for a very reasonable price. My only regret is that we didn’t properly explore the preserve. We will DEFINITELY be back as soon as possible. Hands down the best Hipcamp experience I’ve had.

This was a very nice place. The hobbit house is beautiful. The property has a lot of trails to follow. We loved being able to have a fire to cook on and it is located pretty close to the National Park and other swimming attractions. Rob has a video of how he built it. All in all it was worth it and would recommend to any LOTR fans.

2 nights at The Plank and Pillow on Pirate Cove

We had such a great time staying at this pirate-themed cabin for two nights! We came to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday, and the host made it extra special by leaving her a birthday shirt. There was also a welcome box with everything we needed for s’mores, which was such a thoughtful touch. The lake was definitely a highlight. Having our own private pier and access to kayaks, boats, and floaties kept the whole family entertained for hours. Even when it rained, we had plenty to do with all the games and movies inside the cabin. The only thing I wish had been different was having an indoor bathroom. The portable restroom worked fine, but it’s at the top of the driveway, which could be tricky with kids. It definitely wouldn’t keep us from coming back, though! Overall, it was an amazing stay, and you can tell the host has put so much thought into making this a fun experience. We made some wonderful family memories and would absolutely stay here again!

1 night at Alder Grove Retreat

We had a wonderful time at the Alder Grove Retreat! The cabin was comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and stocked, and the view was beautiful. A perfect place to spend the night after kayaking on Lake Alder. It was also a cool place to wait out a thunder, lightning, and hail storm the next morning. Dawson was an attentive and responsive host, we are just sad that we got rained out this morning and didn't get to stop by the crystal shop!

Weekend Trip to The Plank and Pillow on Pirate Cove

Our family had an amazing weekend at the Plank and Pillow at Pirate Cove. Before our weekend began Kevin was a gracious host, answering all of our pre-trip questions and giving us all the helpful information to make our trip great! The location was perfect, felt like we had the cove to ourselves and the views were spectacular. We have a couple of teenagers and a one year old in our family and there was plenty of fun to be had by all! The teenagers were out on the water the whole trip except to eat or sleep. They loved all of the water crafts and really enjoyed learning to kayak and paddle board! We brought some fishing gear and had some luck fishing off the dock and even took the row boat out for some fishing too! The cabin itself provided everything we needed and it seems Kevin had thought of everything! The sleeping arrangements worked perfect for us, one of the teenagers had the bunk room, one stayed upstairs on the pull out bed and the captain’s quarters had a comfortable bed with enough room to put a pack n play for the baby! The portapotty may remind you that you are camping, but a nice warm shower after a swim in the lake in a the outdoor shower gives you some relaxing resort vibes! We had a fantastic stay and hope to that the winds have us sailing back in for another stay in the future!

Lovely spot! Super cute! Quiet. Bed really surprised me. I've stayed in many hotels and this bed and pillows are more comfortable than most of the hotels I've stayed in. Scerene. Would stay again.
