Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Healing Hearts Ranch was started to inspire hope and healing through partnership with horses. Equine Assisted Learning sessions are available by contacting your host for more information. The ranch is 23 acres partially wooded with a nature trail and open fenced paddocks and fields. We have a herd of horses on the property and offer Equine Assisted Learning and riding lessons onsite. Tent site is in wooded area at back of property, porta potty by the barn available. Water from spigot by tent site. Guests love it here: "What a nice surprise! I was not sure what to expect staying on a horse ranch, but it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Kristy was an awesome host and there was one other group up by the rv pad, but we hardly saw them. Dogs were very friendly and Kristy let us use a propane fire-pit to provide warmth and a fire for our tent site. The bathrooms were clean and there was some water by our site, but we did not use it. The camp, for the tent site… we arrived and she drove us all over her property and told us to just choose where we wanted to camp. We chose to stay in back of the horse area. While we could see the house from there, we didn’t care and if you want to move back in the woods further, there are spots back there too that would provide more privacy if you need that. This is a great site and a one of a kind experience being that close to the horses."

We really enjoyed our time at Witt's End. Jake and his wife put a lot of thought and care into the space they created. It was also fun to watch the salmon coming upstream to spawn. Great place for family and friends to get together and catch up. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Jacob’s spot is very beautifully setup. Gracious and kind hosts. Nice grassy area and a creek across the street. Note for dog owners - the area is not fenced and there is a vehicle traveled road that is accessible by dogs. We have young and energetic goldens so it just wasn’t the best fit for us but I think it’s a wonderful spot for most.

I enjoyed my time at healing hands Ranch, although it was too short! Found a peaceful place to pull my van behind the horse paddocks and enjoyed hearing them while I slept. Very low level traffic noise and felt extremely safe and private. It was very special to get to pet the horses and Kristy was generous with sharing her dahlias from her beautiful garden. I hope to stay there again when I drive through in the future!

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too. Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks. The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well. We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew! They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved! The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore. They had an outhouse too. The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect We all can’t wait to come back!

Witt's End is a well maintained and beautifully landscaped piece of property, that you get all to yourself!! And as a bonus...there is a private creek area to enjoy just across the street. My husband and I really felt blessed to spend a few days there relaxing, playing games, or just sitting and watching the creek run by. We highly recommend it and hope to enjoy it again in the future. We were greeted warmly by his parents Rob & Tricia. Tricia is real warrior; she gives me hope and I wish her an abundance of future health and happiness! And although we did not get to meet. This was our second visit to Pleasant Places, and it was just as great in a little rain this year as it was in the summer heat last year. The kids had a blast exploring in a safe, open area where we never had to worry about traffic or open water, which made it especially stress-free for parents of young kids. The host was so friendly and welcoming, and water was readily available for washing hands and dishes, which made camping easy and comfortable. There’s plenty of space for tents and endless room for field games, giving the kids hours of fun. Ike Kinswa State Park is nearby and worth the short drive for a safe, fun swim day. The property is peaceful, well-kept, and inviting. I recommend bringing battery-powered string lights for around the main camp area—they add a cozy glow in the evenings. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already looking forward to our next trip back!

I just returned from a 2-night stay at Healing Hearts Ranch with my kids, and I can honestly say it was one of the most soul-nourishing experiences we’ve had in a long time. Nestled on gorgeous wooded acreage, this peaceful retreat offered the perfect blend of adventure, connection, and restoration. The kids were completely enamored with the horses—gentle, beautiful animals that made the experience unforgettable for them. They spent hours happily exploring and bonding with the animals, which, to my surprise and immense gratitude, gave me—an overworked parent—a rare chance to slow down and actually relax. There’s something truly special about the land here. Whether you’re walking beneath the trees, watching your children light up with joy, or simply taking a moment to breathe in the stillness, the ranch offers a kind of healing that lives up to its name. I have a large group consisting of 4 families that have been struggling to find camping places that are big enough to spread out and feel like we're not on top of others camping at the same place. Standard campsites are too cramped and you never feel like you got to enjoy nature and the beautiful world around us, but rather only the others campers who are way too close! That is where Pleasant Places comes in clutch! Our group absolutely loved it! Plenty of space and the amenities that Summer provides made it an easy week of camping. An open field in the middle allowed for children to play and since we are so secluded we didn't have to worry about being too noisy to others around us. I would 100% recommend this place to others. Awesome location. Can place tents/campers in between tree to keep them shady so they don't get too hot. Summer had a hose for us to get water from so we didn't have to keep running to the store. Seriously, check out this place! Unless it's the last week of July since that is when we plan to return. lol Great Spot!

This is a great place to stay. The host is very inviting and there is a lot to wander around and see. Our dogs didn’t get along, however the host was very nice and accommodating. She had great communication with us so that the doggos didn’t interact. If you like horses and nature then this is the place for you. The site and hookups were very well maintained. We had a great stay and would do it again!

We had a wonderful stay at Pleasant Places! We had 10 adults, two kids, and a couple of dogs, and there was plenty of space for all of our tents and equipment! Having our own porta potty was great too. We all enjoyed hanging around the kitchen area/fire pit, and Summer was quick to respond to any questions we had. It was a very peaceful and private location, and we had the best time! We would definitely recommend Pleasant Places for your next group camping trip!

Perfect for us. Very attentive host. Water and clean toilet. She helped us get a cord to plug in our campervan frig. It is not totally private, in that the site is sort of in the yard, a little ways from the house and barn. But definitely good enough. Very quiet. Great place if you like horses. Good hike in nature in back of property. The dogs were a little challenging. But generally loved this hipcamp and the host. Would like to come again. And relatively close to Olympia. Highly recommend it!
