You've found the best RV parking in Packwood, Washington at the base of Mt Rainier. Enjoy nearly an acre of quiet, old growth, tranquil, forest to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Leave behind the congested RV park and experience a unique and tranquil oasis of natural beauty. Pick between two RV parking spots, with septic, 30 amp electric and water. Enjoy your own fire pit, a covered picnic shelter with lighting, horseshoe pits and a covered porch with a swing. Access the property with a U-shaped, pull-through drive, or simply back in/out. The property is located at the dead end of a road with a large, paved cul de sac for easy turning . You'll be centrally located to the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer: Mt. Rainier National Park (12 miles to the Stevens Canyon entrance and 28 miles to the Nisqually entrance in the summer....longer in the winter), White Pass (including the ski resort and the Pacific Crest Trail), the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, the Cowlitz River, Packwood Lake, and endless hiking trails. Looking for more? You're also not far from Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. While you feel like you've stepped away from it all, you're still just a few miles away from the amenities of Packwood, including shopping, restaurants, gas, etc. Fall asleep to the soft sounds of nearby Butter Creek, and wake up to fresh forest air. Spend your days exploring what makes the Pacific Northwest so amazing, and relax at night gathering around the large fire pit or enjoying time together under the covered picnic shelter. A second RV is allowed for an additional fee (contact owner), though electrical service is only available for one RV (septic and water available for two). One tent is allowed provided it is accompanied by a fully contained RV with a bathroom. The maximum occupancy is 6 persons regardless of the number of RV's or if a tent is used. Some guess have reported that using slide outs leaves little to no room to walk past the slide outs without having to walk off the driveway; if your vehicle has slide outs this may not be an ideal location for your vacation. (note: there is a small residence on the property, which will be vacant during your stay; you are free to use the covered porch area and the porch swing). If you are looking for an uncrowded, truly private and memorable RV parking spot to call home for a while, then this is for you. Sink your teeth into the heart of the Pacific Northwest: we guarantee you won't be able to finish all the hiking trails within a 60 minute drive radius. This is an outdoor paradise waiting for you to explore, or simply sit back and enjoy. The lighted picnic shelter will allow you to make and eat meals, play games or simply sit and talk after the sun goes down. Be sure to bring your horseshoes and play a few games in your own horseshoes pits. The fire pit is huge and will allow plenty of room for everyone to sit around it. You'll feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but just a few miles from the amenities of Packwood, including a grocery store, gas, hardware, auto care, restaurants, and a museum. This is an established RV parking place that has been privately used, but is now made available for others to use. Please note: there are no restroom or toilet facilities provided; you must provide a vehicle with a bathroom. The roads leading to the site are scheduled to be plowed after snowstorms, but the property itself will not be plowed. A snow shovel is available on the porch for use if needed. Packwood does receive snow on occasion, but usually not a lot. The real snow happens at White Pass and Mt. Rainier. However, please watch weather reports and come prepared.

Private RV parking @ Mt Rainier
Great basecamp spot
Overall this was a great basecamp for us. We shouldn't have chosen 4th of july. No description needed ;-)Also the first sentence in the description for the site says, "If you are looking for an uncrowded, truly private". Not sure if that's honest. There are houses on each side and campers across in front of you. There were people at all of them..and you are basically in a neighborhood..so not private. There were people walking around the other houses, and some were having a campfire next door. I was looking for the "out in the woods as described, and truly private" because my partner and I both play woodwind instruments and couldn't play some things we had planned because of the closeness..but, the hookups, including, sewer, electric and water was a great plus. Nice table area to talk, play games or eat which has a cover and lighting, nice touch. There is a nice firepit, and porch swing close by, also nice touch. There were excellent hiking opportunities all around which we took advantage of daily, along with never ending day trip opportunities and Rainier close by as well. If you camper is longer than 22 ft, back in, pretty tight to turn around. Also, be aware of a large rock in the drive coming out and a stump sticking up that could pop a tire if not careful. Town is close..so eating out, saturday market, awesome brewery, gas station, coffee stands and a small market were available. Also, a mexican cafe 3 miles west of town has the only breakafast in the area, really good.

Location was very quiet. Great place to use as a base camp. We have a 45 ft truck/trailer unit and did drive thru with some realigning of trailer but ended up backing in. This allowed us to get the morning sun. We could of used the location to drive to St Helens thru Randle but the roads were not open. We did High Rock and the Cora Lake Trails. Great views.

We had a wonderful time camping at Brandon’s property. It was spacious and secluded but easy to access at the same time. The covered areas were great to have and we really enjoyed being able to have a campfire as well.

Great spot to stage for Mt Rainier
A great spot to stage for explorations of Mt Rainier's South side. Clean, quiet residential neighborhood. FHU, 4G Verizon coverage. Minutes to town, short drive to Rainier NP. Parking spot required a bit of leveling. All good! Definitely recommend.
