Camping at Ross Lake gives new meaning to “getting off the grid”. Tucked deep in the North Cascades of Washington, this reservoir isn’t accessible by car (on the U.S. side, anyway). You can hike in —or, paddle from Diablo Lake up Riprap Creek and portage your boat overland to Ross Lake.

It takes some effort to get in, but the work is well worth the reward. Wake up to views of snow-capped summits at your lakeside campsite. Fish from the shore, or paddle out into the brilliant blue water.

Feel like a walk? The Pacific Northwest Trail and the East Bank Trail are right in your backyard. Hike along the 23-mile lake toward Canada. On the Sourdough Mountain Trail, you can climb high into the Cascades. From there, the views over North Cascades National Park are breathtaking.

There are 19 campgrounds on Ross Lake, each with 1-7 campsites. Whether you choose a boat-in or trail-accessible site, you’ll need to get a backcountry permit. At Ross Lake Resort, you can rent boats and book floating cabins.

Spring, summer, and fall are the best times for camping in the Ross Lake National Recreation Area. In the winter, heavy snow causes avalanches and road closures. Due to changing water levels, boating is possible from July through September.

Welcome to Lil Bit O' Heaven Camping! Here you will find beautiful and unique places to camp right on the Cascade River, approximately 3 minutes outside of Marblemount, WA. We are right next to the Marblemount Boat Launch and within an easy walk into town if you want to visit the local restaurants or need camping gear. Our property has five tent campsites on the river as well as a 26' glamping dome (previously used for artic research) completely painted with a galaxy of the night sky. A converted antique hay trailer turned tiny house with an 8' ceiling loft with 3-way views of the forest and river, deck, and private "magic spot" on the Cascade River. The Lil Bit O Heaven Campground is the perfect base camp for your summer adventure! Firewood is available onsite most of the summer. Fresh, clean drinking water, permanent bathrooms and a private shower are available for all campers. An outdoor (completely private) shower is available for those who book the tiny house. Please note that you must follow any local fire bans. Please check the fire conditions PRIOR to making a campfire. Please note that there are areas where you can get directly to the side of the Cascade River, and the river is swift and dangerous! The Gem is a beautiful tiny home in a cozy setting in the woods. It has a semi private drive. Hiking trails through the woods, with a glimpse of Church mountain out the door and just a jaunt to Cornell creek. Bodigers bond across the street and the Mt. Baker/Snoqualamie national forest right out your front door. It's a 1/4 mile from Glacier, Wa and 17 miles from the Mt. Baker ski area. Please note, this cabin accommodates 3 people. I will allow 5 but there is not beds for 5 people. 2 people are welcome to sleep in a tent under the poll barn. There is an additional charge for the 2 extra people. We don't allow dogs in the Gem at this time. Feel free to check out our other cabins on the same property. The Nook and The LTC both allow dogs.

Enjoy two tiny homes as your base camp for adventure in the Cascade Mountains. Sleep 5-6 guests comfortably without the hassle of setting up and tearing down tents or worrying about the ever present threat of Washington rain. The bathroom is not in the same cabin at the beds. This situation may present challenges to folks with mobility difficulties. Your outdoor kitchen complete with sink and propane cooktop in addition to your campfire ring will be all set on your arrival! Give yourself time to set up your campsite just the way you like it. Stainless steel custom counters, dishes, pots, pans, tea kettle, make-shift coffee strainers, popcorn popper (Whirly Pop) hand crank snow cone machine (bring your own ice and syrup!) While this is an off grid location, some electricity is provided. Both cabins have DC electric lights supplied by the solar panels via battery inverter attached to both cabins. In addition, there is a booster for cell service. While service is not reliable, Tmobile has 5G coverage in optimal conditions. (I have Tmobile and regularly get 4 bars.)

I loved my stay in Michael's Woodland Cabin. It was the perfect blend of tiny house living and camping. The outdoor bath under the stars and short hiking trail in the forest through lush ferns and moss made my stay even more special! Perfect spot to unplug completely (or even sneak in a little work while enjoying the view of the mountains and reliable internet, to boot). Add in the easy check-in/out, quick responses to questions and friendly host means I will be back!

Our stay at Woodland Cabin in Chilliwack was wonderful! The cabin was cozy, and surrounded by peaceful forest. Michael was a fantastic host — friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. We loved the quiet atmosphere and all the little touches that made it feel special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and recharge!

The perfect 1 night getaway from the city. We are right for money right now but we wanted to get out of the city and Michael made that possible with his accessible pricing. He provided everything we needed so packing was light. The bathtub was a wonderful addition and both of us (both 6 foot plus) could fit comfortably inside. Will recommend!

This place was a great find! My daughter and I were so happy with our stay here. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The little kitchenette was perfect for our needs, and we enjoyed several simple meals. The bathroom is tiny but completely functional. There is only about 4-5 minutes of hot water for showering, but that’s enough if you know about it ahead. The location is terrific, close to beautiful trails and a slightly longer drive to Mt Baker. The host provided great instructions—definitely screenshot them as she suggests because there is no cell phone service in the area. We couldn’t figure out the animal-proof trashcan, unfortunately, felt bad about that because we had to rush out to make our boat on the last day. This place had everything we needed, and we’d love to visit again!
