Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R, as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep the campground as a single site, larger groups are given preference. Birdsong comes early here, and crickets and frogs light up the evenings. There aren't any city lights, so stargazing is a real delight. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone.
In camp, you will find a rustic kitchen with three picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a sink for your convenience so remember to bring water containers for hand and dish washing.
The resource area for campers is at the second gate and has an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a wagon for transporting items to camp. We have several items for sale, including nice firewood bundles, farm-fresh eggs, and snacks for hand-feeding the farm animals. Lawn games (volleyball, badmintton, bocci ball), hammocks, a parachute, etc. are available for rent.

It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There is only one site so there is a lot of privacy (there used to be two so some of the pictures show the older site right by the pond). It is a rural property with both farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river and surrounding area. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels, or an extended stay.
This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!!
Please, read the site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites but there is a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me, and if you don't want to wait for a reply please feel free to knock on my door). The camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) has a private tent, please be aware you must pack out your waste.
This site can accommodate a large group, please see the prices when reserving. (It can fit up to five RVs but keep in mind it's dry camping and the RVs must have their own toilets.)
I LOVE Dogs and they are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using.
*We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year).

We had a very relaxing and lovely time! We travel in a 30ft class C. We fit perfectly. We also travel with a medium size dog. There is an old logging road right across the street perfect for walks. There are areas on site that are perfect for middle of the night when puppy has to go. Yes, the owners are on site, but other than the initial greeting we didn't see them. We were relaxed. There was enough room to park our extra vehicle and set out chairs. We work remotely, so while our phones were fine, we did struggle to get strong enough service to work. But if you are not working, it is perfect. It was a wonderful spot and we will be back. Oh, Starlink worked great.

We absolutely love this spot! Very private and great views. It poured rain and was very windy this weekend, but we hunkered down, watched movies and read- it was just what we needed! The only downside was getting into the spot. The directions are not clear that you need to back down into the spot- so when you get to the “driveway” you need to back down and it is a little steep. Unfortunately, even though I had read other reviews, we didn’t realize this point & ended up needing to back up onto the main road in 4wd (and luckily we have an F-350- our previous truck would not have been able to handle this even with 4wd). Make sure you assess before you head to the spot.

The View is beautiful. Compared to a campground it is hands down the better option! The site is at the top of the owners driveway so there is some coming and going but overall was very quiet. You can't beat the views and I bet in the summer with the lake so close it is phenomenal. We would stay again for sure.

This was the second time we stayed at The Lookout - and it was even better this time. The Spud airstream was fully loaded with everything we needed, including amazing snacks for our day hike. The dome offered amazing views of the lake and was a magical place to see the sun rise and sunset. This is our favorite place to stay when we plan to visit Rainier. Highly recommend!

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Christie and Thane have really created a wonderful space that balances the outdoors and all the comforts of home. From the views to the outdoor shower, everything was great! The extra appliances in the airstream allowed for us to cook outside by the power pole and we really appreciated the 2nd fridge to keep everything cold so we didn't have to buy a ton of ice. We painted rocks as a family at the picnic table and enjoyed s'mores by the fire all while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake below. The everything down to the porta potty was so clean! And the touch of the panda drum, my entire family enjoyed playing it, it was the highlight of our trip!

Weekend Trip to The Lookout at Mayfield Lake
I absolutely adored The Lookout! Everything was so wonderfully curated and it was the perfect place to get away from the city for a weekend. I can tell Christie and Thane put in a lot of effort to make this place as cozy and welcoming as possible. The view of the lake is breathtaking! Mossyrock is a cute little town (check out Nacho’s Mexican Restaurant), and there’s lots of good spots for fishing around! I’d 100/10 stay here again.

35 ft fifth wheel
Site was great once we were in it. With us being a 35ft fifth wheel the angle getting in and out of the spot was a bit steep so definitely needed a spotter to make sure the truck bed did not hit the 5th wheel bed. It was worth it once we were in the spot.
So private and peaceful. Lovely view of Riffe Lake.
I love the state parks but having all this space to ourselves is unbeatable!

We enjoyed this sweet, quiet, treed little spot. There was a bit of daytime street noise but nothing continuous or extremely loud. The nights were very peaceful.
Linda is very friendly. There was a trash can, recycle bin, and bucket of water at the sight.
We have a 21ft travel trailer. Backing skills a must, and a spotter recommended as the path back to sight is narrow and has a bit of a curve to it.
Perfect spot to overnight after enjoying the nearby lakes, swimming hole, and State Park.

This place was beautiful, but what really made it amazing were the owners. They are kind and hospitable. Anna brought us a basket of fruit from her garden when she met us. Our elder dog unfortunately passed on our trip and we had to skip a day to bring her home. Anna brought flowers and helped to lend some comfort to my children, and then offered to refund our trip. When I refused and assured her it wasn't necessary she still refunded a day. She and her husband are thoughtful and kind,
and I couldn't recommend this hipcamp enough, if only to meet some truly wonderful people.

My friends and I had the best time staying at the lookout for Memorial Day weekend. The land is gorgeous and each of the amenities are so thoughtfully decorated.
Christie and thane were great hosts and very responsive the couple times we needed something. Highly recommend this grand stay.

Great base camp for us to explore Mt Rainier NP. Nice, clean set up. flat spot, private, full hookup and Diane couldn’t have been nicer. Really enjoyed the trip and our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too.
Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks.
The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well.
We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew!
They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved!
The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore.
They had an outhouse too.
The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect
We all can’t wait to come back!

1 night at The Lookout at Mayfield Lake
This place is amazing! The Airstream is comfortable and cozy, with AC, cooking supplies, and everything you need for a great stay. The dome is so unique, and is an amazing place to enjoy the view! The view of the lake is incredible, and this is the perfect place to enjoy being outdoors while having comfy indoor spaces to relax in too. I definitely recommend it!
