Camp Forever Young

2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Quilcene, WA
We invite you to come and enjoy the homestead campground we’ve created. We moved here a little over 5 years ago to create a peaceful and relaxing environment where you can connect with nature and disconnect from your busy lives. We have two private sites that offer unique accommodations that are perfect for a group of friends, a family trying out camping for the first time, or a couple looking for a romantic getaway in the woods. During your stay you can feed the goats and meet some of our other charming farm animals. Sustainable living is important to us and we love to inspire people who may be interested in such a life by teaching what we've learned and showing how possible it is. We are always looking for ways to improve our land, our life and our campers experiences. Ask us questions, give us ideas and enjoy our growth with us.

Secluded Olympic Cabin ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)

1 site · Lodging2 acres · Brinnon, WA
Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite

1 site · Lodging1 acre · White Center, WA
This backyard shed conversion is a perfect mix of comfy and quirky! Ms Pacman, Beanie Babies, a lips couch, and Space Jam all make an appearance in this suburban backyard glamping experience! At just 186 square feet, this spot is all yours to enjoy away from the noise of the city in our large and lush backyard. You will have full rein of a private patio to smoke or enjoy meals on our newly built cedar deck, or enjoy a drink in the shared hammock space under our towering Eastern Hemlock tree. Your quiet backyard refuge is newly converted with everything you’ll need for a fun weekend away. We are just two blocks from the bus stop with access to Seattle’s great transit system. This space is close to the airport, close to downtown, and walkable to the home of the The Rat City Roller Derby in White Center. And only two blocks from your door is Westcrest Park, a Greenbelt with trails and a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline. If you feel like staying in, enjoy our Mr and Mrs Pacman games in your “mini arcade” or make use of some of the supplied board games or the sudoku/coloring books available. Relax on an iconic Seattle drag bar’s original “lips couch” and grab a book from our queer library with beer available for purchase in your kitchenette. This is a stand alone structure that is separate from our main house. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors. You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

Tarnside Chalet

1 site · Lodging10 acres · Olalla, WA
A pastoral getaway in a custom-crafted mini lodge on our family farm on the Pacific Northwest Peninsula. Washington State Ferry from Seattle to beautiful Kitsap Peninsula. The Red House Farm overlooks the Olalla Valley, where eagles soar and spectacular sunsets paint the sky over the ridge. Tarnside Cottage sleeps 4, in 1 double and 2 memory-foam twin-size beds in a loft above; equipped with hot pot, and 1 ET toilet (odorless, enviro-friendly); hot shower, refrig, hot plate. The space Tarnside (Anglo-Saxon for beside a small body of water) is a wonderful place to get away from it all, to finish a writing or drawing project, or just to get off grid and rest and relax without the complications of city life. (Brookside and our Gypsy caravan are also available and sleep 2 in a cedar-lined barn-conversion cottage with farm Americana décor, and 4 in Gypsy cart queen and two twins, respectively. Enjoy the privacy of being at the top of the farm with a beautiful view from your front porch of Olalla Valley and the setting sun. Behind Tarnside is a secluded seating area with firepit and BBQ (not available during burn ban). Our Inspiration The inspiration to develop guest lodgings on our farm came from our visits to Banbury Hill Farm in the UK (where the former owner and author Douglas Bond directs the Oxford Creative Writing Master Class) and from Tree House Point in nearby Fall City; we invite you to explore Pete Nelson's (EMAIL HIDDEN) as you consider a wilderness getaway. The Red House Farm is a working family farm in a beautiful hillside setting, with grass-fed beef, organic chickens, goats (currently away), and other furry critters. Currently we have three guest lodgings completed for your repose and relaxation. The saltwater is only three minutes away, Olalla Winery closer still, a corner grocery is a short walk away if you want to heat up soup for your lunch on one of our hotplates, and Al's Pizza (local eatery, grocery, micro brews on tap, and wine tasting) sits right on Colvos Passage looking across to Vashon Island (a recent (2018) Honda ad was filmed along this gorgeous stretch of waterfront roadway).
