Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. This cabin is peaceful. It had everything we needed for comfort. It is maintained with thoughtfulness. The cabin is clean and stocked with supplies making it easy to care for while there. The weather was very cold (26 to 38 degrees) as expected and we stayed toasty,
The roads are well maintained and the mountain spectacular.
We will come back when we can spend more time outside enjoying the grounds and exploring.
This was a fabulous place to retreat and spend time with friends.
Our dog was so happy, she is part husky and was in her element outside. She loved it. We all did.

Weekend Trip to Rainier Explorer|MRNP|Ski|Hottub
We loved staying at the Rainier Explorer cabin! Overall we found the cabin to be comfortable, warm, and have all of the amenities we could need. I would highly recommend it to a friend who wanted to visit Mt. Rainier National Park, Packwood, or go ski White Pass.
The cabin was well stocked and clean. The heater and electric fireplace kept use perfectly warm over the cold winter nights. The queen bed in the primary bedroom was really comfortable. The hot tub is just what we needed after a long day skiing.
The cabin is a 5 min drive from Packwood, WA where you can find all you need to stock up for your stay and recover after a long hike/ski.

What a perfect spot! So happy my husband and I found out about Anderson Island and this cute cabin. With the short ferry rides and quick drive to anywhere on the island, this made for a perfect weekend getaway for us and our 7 year old. The microwave went out on us when we arrived but the host was quick to resolve the issue and replaced it with a brand new one. We loved reading through the books and also the private beach access close by, was our favorite part. It’s a nice wooded walk down to an untouched beach with sea glass and whole shells from lack of foot traffic and picking. The mattresses and blankets were so soft and cozy and even with a compostable toilet outside and no running water, we never felt like we were “roughing it” too much. The locals were so friendly and seem to love living there. Talk to them and they give great stories and insight. We chatted it up with folks and were given a private tour of the farm old homestead located at the historical society and bought some shirts and treats at the gift shop. We actually ended up staying an extra night since it was so nice and didn’t bring enough food but the golf course restaurant, that is very close by was open late and fed us while we watched the Seahawks game. Since we were out of coffee, we hit up the cute diner for breakfast and coffee after we checked out of the cabin and then drove to see the abandoned sinking ferry and old gas station. Still more we want to explore so we plan on being back soon!

Brittany's space is a sweet little haven. I have booked this spot a few times for a Winter Solstice celebration and it never disappoints. We love gathering around the big fire pit for hours, sharing in ceremony, music, and reflection, and ending the night with a cozy sleep in the cabin. I happily recommend this spot!

If you like to camp in the winter, like to take your dog, and want a roof with a heater over your head, this is perfect! It was a perfect island adventure. Fred's special touches included easy access pottable water and dishwashing sink on the porch of the cabin, a clean/neat outhouse, a bug flap, heater, microwave, fridge, and COOKIES! We walked down to the beach, took a couple trips to beautiful parks, and enjoyed the views of the water from the cabin. We brought a tent/shelter and put it up for an extra "room" to enjoy the views and grilled cheese/tomato soup, hot cider, and apple crisp. We heard coyotes howling in the distance, owls hooting, saw deer, coyotes, and river otters. We truly had an island adventure we will always cherish and remember. Thank you Fred for providing us this opportunity!!

Weekend Trip to Pipe Lake Cabin
The cabin was larger than I expected! You enter into a large room with the main bed (bedding included), pullout couch, armchair and fireplace. Then there is the kitchen area with a good size dining table. Bathroom is right off the kitchen. No shower but that didn't bother us. Basic amenities for the kitchen is all provided and there are plenty of extra blankets. Just a PSA, your door code will be sent 30 minutes before the check in, we found ourselves worrying as the time got closer and closer!

This place is glamping at its absolute best. It has everything you need and more, yet you feel at one with nature. My wife and I stayed for one night with the idea of shutting away from technology for the weekend and boy did it deliver. This place is awesome! Dawson has done an amazing job with creating the space. It has everything you could need!
You can really tell a lot of thought has gone into the place and a lot of work has been involved. We had the best time and were so cozy together. We were lucky to have rain over night and it was so peaceful listening to the rain on the roof as we fell asleep.
The directions provided made it very easy to find and a couple of wagons and a lantern are available to help you get your things out to the cabin.
As we came in November, we didn’t get the opportunity to use the outdoor space. But we still braved using the shower and it’s worth it, so toasty and incredible views!
Inside is cozy and comfortable. The kitchenette has everything you could need. That bed though! So comfy, as someone who deals with chronic pain, I really appreciate how comfortable the bed is!
It was really nice to get off grid a little and put our phones away for the night.
We had such a good time we are definitely looking to come back again next year in the summer hopefully!
If you get the chance to stay here, do it!

Perfect for the first stormy weekend of Fall. Lots of reading, listening to the rain & hail! We did get a little sun & got a bit of fishing in. Wonderful & close views of an eagle, sitting right in a tree off the deck.
Pro tip: Shut the door between main room and kitchen. It makes the heater much more efficient. Can't wait to get back in Spring. Charming and peaceful.

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island
I loved staying at Fred’s cabin! Truly had everything you need including an incredibly friendly and thoughtful host. It was quite stormy the weekend we stayed but it was perfectly cozy in the cabin with the little heater :) Fred even let us know when he heard about a nearby orca pod, we didn’t get to see them as they went on up to Tacoma, but he let us borrow his binoculars and told us all about the island and its animal sightings! 10/10 stay and weekend- hope to be back soon!

Make sure you look up the right entrance before heading out. The entrances do not connect to each other. Very long slow line at the entrance, get there early.
