​Welcome to The Legacy Basecamp—a true-to-roots, semi-off-grid mountain hideaway in Elbe, Washington. Steeped in family history and originally carved out decades ago. It’s an unapologetically rough, rugged, and authentic mountain outpost built for real adventurers who want a no-fuss launchpad for the backcountry. ​If you want a soulful, unplugged space where you can easily access beautiful parks and recreation, use resources mindfully, and sleep under the pines, you've found your spot. ​The Space & Terrain ​Plenty of Room to Spread Out: We have ample open, rugged acreage surrounding the area. There is plenty of space to pitch extra tents, park a rig, or set up camp kitchens so your whole crew can spread out. ​Covered Fire Pit Zone: The heart of the basecamp is a large, covered outdoor area right next to the central fire pit. No matter what the Washington weather throws at you, you'll stay dry while cooking over an open flame, swapping stories, and watching the sparks fly into the deep timber. ​The Vibe: Expect a raw, time-worn setting. You'll fall asleep to the wind in the evergreens and wake up to the distant, nostalgic whistle of the historic passing steam train. ​The Amenities (Keep It Sparse) ​This is a semi-off-grid experience where water and power are precious commodities. ​Water & Power: Minimal resources on-site. We ask all guests to use amenities sparingly and practice mindful conservation. Bring your own drinking water and power banks. ​Toilets: A well-maintained, low-impact composting toilet system is available on-site. ​Shelter: A rustic, weather-worn cabin structure providing basic shelter and seating.Welcome to The Legacy Bascamp located in Elbe, Wa. The Main Cabin ​Ground Floor: Includes a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and filtered running water. Unwind on the loveseat across from the TV, browse the collection of board games, DVDs, and books, and stay warm beside the propane heater. ​Loft: Up the stairs, you will find sleeping accommodations with one queen bed and one full bed. ​The Bunkhouse & Bathhouse ​Bunkhouse: Features a twin bed, a comfortable couch, and a dedicated heater to keep you cozy through the night. ​Bathhouse: Equipped with a sink and an instant-hot propane shower for quick rinses and cleanups. ​Restroom: A private pit toilet is located just past the buildings. ​Outdoor Living &; Camping ​Covered Pavilion: The centerpiece of the property is a spacious covered outdoor area featuring a large picnic table, a BBQ grill, and a fire pit ready for roasting s'mores. ​Campsites: Several flat, cleared clearings surround the property, offering plenty of room to pitch additional tents for larger family gatherings.

Relaxing retreat 😌
The Legacy Basecamp in Elbe
​As the property manager and host for The Legacy Basecamp, I wanted to experience the space firsthand and it truly delivered. While I manage the bookings and guest experience rather than stewarding this incredible land long-term, staying here gave me a full appreciation for what makes this spot so special. ​There is plenty of open space for the family to run around, play, and unwind. One of our favorite details was hearing the faint whistle of the train passing in the distance,it adds such a classic, peaceful touch to the woods. The large covered outdoor space was a lifesaver for escaping the midday heat, and it will clearly be the ultimate cozy refuge once the fall and winter rains set in. ​Between the fully equipped indoor kitchen and the versatile outdoor cooking setups, meal prep was effortless with tons of options. After full days outside, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything we needed was right at hand. We left feeling completely refreshed.
