We have many exciting changes for our guests this year! Along with the geodesic dome, RV sites, wood-fires sauna, store, and cafe added last season, this year we will have 3 stargazer tents! Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail.
A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.
Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

Looking for an off grid'ish experience but want some of the comforts of home?
Come stay in my cozy cool cabin at the base of Mt Adams in Trout Lake, WA. Cabin has one Queen bed and a fold out camping style cot under the bed. Max capacity 2 adults and 2 children.
What makes this cabin cool? Well, it is a retired DNR fire watch cabin! The cabin is as original as can be! Equipped with battery operated and solar lights along with propane heat! Porta potty right next to it for your use! There is a full bathroom and amenities to include fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air fryer just a short walk away! Dishes are not included and cooking utensils are very limited.
Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend!
Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away.
In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat!
There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban.
Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up.
Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area.

Rustic propane fire places have been installed in each cabin along with air conditioning units to make sure our guests are warm and cozy on the coldest winter nights as well as cool and comfortable on those hot summer days. Parking is ample within steps of each of the cabins and is more than big enough to fit snowmobile trailers, horse trailers, RVs, or any other toys you may want to bring along for your trip.
Trout Lake Cozy Cabins was formerly known as Serenity's, named after the restaurant that sat on the property. The Restaurant burned down a number of years ago. Since the restaurant building was rebuilt, we have been excited to have Mt. Adams Pizza on our property for the last 4 years. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe.
The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. Of course, having grown up in the area, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a "local's" tip/suggestions. Don't be shy, we are very friendly people and will go out of our way to make sure you have a memorable stay with us!

I have nothing but lovely things to say about my stay at Brian’s cabin! Such a simple and functional space, it felt very clean and straightforward. Comfy furniture & they had anything you’d need for basic cooking. Shower was lovely and there were space heaters available for use, lots of space for my dog to sniff & explore. Brian was friendly and all instructions were very straightforward and easy to understand. Incredible stay, especially at its price point. I would recommend to anybody as well as go back 😌

This was a very beautiful place! 6 out of 5 starts highly recommend! Instructions were clear. We had a very informative welcome introduction from Brian to go over the grounds and cabins uniqueness.
The cabin is tucked away from view of the main house which provides a cute romantic little bubble. Very pet friendly, excited to bring my dog on the next go around.
They provided a fun variety of games and some good old CD classic music.
So glad they had a selection of coffee since we forgot ours lol

Weekend Trip to The Village at Rainier
Super cute little cabin! Just as described, it’s perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. Plenty of amenities were provided. Theres a toaster oven in the room and a portable single stove. Dishes, bowls, cups and cooking utensils are all in the room. You’ll have to bring your own towel though. Firewood was also sold on property. Really close to the Longmire entrance of Mt rainier national park.

I loved staying in this cabin! Location is close to a couple lakes we fished at during the day. Cabin included a kitchenette, bathroom, small couch, heating, and a loft bed. Hot tub was amazing and we also had a fire at the fire pit.

The cabin and grounds were absolutely lovely. We needed some relaxing downtime and this fit our needs to a tee. It was great to hike around the trails behind the cabin. The cabin was very comfortable and has everything we needed to cook our meals. We have a a very shy reactive dog and she had a wonderful time with so much isolated space. We will definitely return.

Despite a slight mixup at the start, Dawson was a very gracious host and we had a comfortable stay at the Eagle View Cabin. The quarters are cozy with mini-kitchenette, bed, and loveseat all within arm's reach of each other. The outdoor rear porch shower & composting toilet worked fine. The propane room heater gets the cabin quite toasty, even on cool nights. If the weather is good, the front deck is fun for eating or watching the sky.

Blackberry Cabin offers a perfect slice of solitude! The peace that came from listening to rain pattering on the roof and the wind chimes singing softly along with the warblers and sparrows was the perfect anecdote to the stress and business of everyday life. My dog, Abby, and I loved the off-leash walks on the trails among the birches! The cabin is wonderfully cozy and beautifully designed- the detailing on the ceiling of the bed nook was especially lovely. The cabin is outfitted with all the essentials- all I needed was my clothes and toothbrush! Brian is an excellent host. He made me feel very welcome on his property, showed me around the cabin, and then the place was mine to enjoy for the rest of my stay. I’m looking forward to returning sometime soon!

I almost don’t want to share the experience, as to avoid bringing others to a spot we plan to revisit! But I must.
My husband and I took our two dogs to Brian’s cabin for an “all to yourself” quiet getaway. It was exactly what we needed - Away from the loud and chaotic world. We spent the whole time walking with our dogs (off leash and able to fully enjoy the nature and space around them) or posted up around the gas fire, listening to the woods around us. When shut in for the night, we had just the right amount of kitchen gadgets to enjoy simple meals for two. When waking up to the sunny forest around us, there was a stocked shower with thoughtful natural/essential oil infused shampoo/conditioner/body wash. For any point in the trip, there was a plethora of blankets for us and the dogs.
It was really everything we wanted. As soon as we got into reception range, I immediately started notifying friends and family about how they needed to visit this place. It is the recharging-kind-of-place we Oregonians all long for amidst the overwhelming routine of life.

This was a great spot for exploring Mt Rainier National Park, especially in the cooler weather. We loved soaking after snowshoeing and hiking and the space to cook and relax. Janet was very helpful and responsive with her communication.

Great Visitors center! Going back for hiking!
I stopped at the visitor center while driving back to Seattle. I have passed it a million times and this was the first time stopping. Just 10min off the highway. Will definitely be planning a trip to do some hiking north of Mt. St. Helens now!

Bee Inspired?? Yes!!
We had a wonderful stay at Bee Inspired Gardens! We were in Site #3, which easily accommodated our large 39’ fifth-wheel with plenty of space to pull in and set up comfortably. The site included water and electric, which made our stay even more convenient.
The gardens were absolutely beautiful—clearly a labor of love and care. Kay gave us a personal tour of both the gardens and the apiary, and shared her knowledge about creating pollinator habitats. It was both educational and inspiring!
A picnic table was provided at the site, and we were delighted to find a vase of fresh flowers waiting for us—a thoughtful and welcoming touch. Communication with Kay was excellent from start to finish.
Highly recommend Bee Inspired Gardens for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and educational stop!

Loved our visit to MSH! The views all along the drive were amazing. We played in Coldwater Lake and visited the Science Center-breathtaking views. We enjoyed 2 hikes. Loved the vegetation. Wish we had more time and better understood the different entry points and trails to know how to best utilize our time.

If you're in the area, you HAVE to visit! It's so pretty and underrated mountains. It has tons of history, display and learnings! We truly enjoyed the visit. Stop by Coldwater Lake if you have time, it's worth it!

Johnstone Ridge visitor center at the end of the road was still closed, but Coldwater Lake visitor center just reopened, and offered a great view of the mountain.

Although the center was closed for renovations, the walking path and bathrooms were open for use. We ventured up the mountain to the many viewpoints and forestry learning center and ended at Coldwater Lake due to road closure. It was a great trip and highly recommended.

Gorgeous hike! Went to Mt. Adams South Slope glacier. Had to snowshoe 2 miles to the site due to road conditions and lots of still still inaccessible by car in March.
