My husband & I put a lot of blood sweat & tears into making this a place our kids would enjoy during our weekend vacations to Leavenworth. We love hiking & there are a ton of nearby hikes. Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy this glamp spot! Utilize the dry cabin equipped with two twin size beds, a pullout couch bed, a dining table with 4 chairs & extra seating. With plenty of space outdoors, feel free to pitch a tent or bring your RV for friends! It is a dry cabin meaning there is no running water. We have it powered with a solar panel which should give enough electricity to charge phones & lights as needed. There is also an outhouse with a compost bucket if you'd like to use that. The downside to this lovely parcel is it's on the opposite side of the train tracks, so there will be occasional noise. Maybe it adds to the uniqueness? Just keep that in mind as once in a blue moon, the train does stop so you may be stuck for a few minutes. Oh & those power lines sometimes make a crackling noise. Sometimes we notice it & other times we don't. Now that we got that out of the way, the pros are it's a great place to explore. There are a ton of nearby hikes. This spot is in between Stevens Pass & the famous Alps candy store, with each being about 15 mins away. There is a gas station/convenient store, a few diners, and a rest stop within 5 minutes. Historical Leavenworth is about 20 mins.
There is a spot for campfires, a small 2 burner propane stove & an ice chest for your convenience, but you will need to bring the propane.

This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is
Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls).
A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle.
Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas.
Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River.
In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had

This space is close to the airport, close to downtown, and walkable to the home of the The Rat City Roller Derby in White Center. And only two blocks from your door is Westcrest Park, a Greenbelt with trails and a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline. If you feel like staying in, enjoy our Mr and Mrs Pacman games in your “mini arcade” or make use of some of the supplied board games or the sudoku/coloring books available. Relax on an iconic Seattle drag bar’s original “lips couch” and grab a book from our queer library with beer available for purchase in your kitchenette.
This is a stand alone structure that is separate from our main house. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

Please enjoy TV that comes with the Roku and my subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. You'll find a fully stocked kitchen, a stove and refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kettle and French press coffee. Extra additions such as an Instant Pot, small blender, and popcorn maker are also available.
The home includes:
- 4 spacious bedrooms
- An indoor dining space that comfortably seats 6 with leaves that can be added to be able to accommodate 10 people - and 2 additional seats in the kitchen bar area.
- A large outdoor deck with a grill for BBQ, eucalyptus wood table and bench that seats 8 for outdoor entertainment
- Expansive garden surrounded by forest and woodland trails to enjoy alone, in groups, or with your dog(s).
- Outdoor hot-tub with mountain views lit with globe lights for ambience.
- Yoga studio (which can be heated during the winter).
- Your stay Includes bath towels, hot tub towels, robes, toiletries, etc.
What you will find near Pentoria Lodge:
- The log home is located on a hill close to the Skykomish River with a view of the mountains.
- There are three towns located nearby.
1. Duvall is my personal favorite and is 20 minutes away to enjoy boutique shops, breweries, lunch spots, great dinner restaurants, ice cream, and a Safeway.
2. Monroe has everything you would need including restaurants, shops, hardware stores, pet stores, antique stores, and grocery stores.
3. Sultan is on the way to Stevens Pass ski resort and is much smaller but has a great bakery!
Nearby activities include hiking, skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding.
All the spots that I would recommend visiting can be found in the Welcome Guide upon your arrival.
Important things to know:
- Staying in this home means you are staying within nature. Deer are regularly around the property, or can be seen in the woods during your drive up. Please be respectful to them. There has been the occasional bear sighting, so please be aware. There is bear spray in the property, but I have only seen a bear twice and have been able to scare it away with a tap on the window! My space is surrounded by woods and forest, and though I treat the exterior to keep out pests, there are all sorts of creatures great and small, including insects and mice, which unfortunately can be a reality of nature for all the homes up on the hill. Please take into consideration that my home may not be a right fit for those who are extremely phobic of these and other wildlife, but for others, it can bring enjoyment.
Please take a look at my house rules to familiarize yourself with the do's and dont's, especially if you will be using this space for a larger entertainment gathering.

Guest access
There is enough space for 3 cars to park at the top of the driveway and next to the log cabin. Any other cars can fit down by the yoga studio and garage, but please note, the driveway is not for the faint of heart - it is steep!
During the winter months you will need a 4-wheel drive to make it to the top of the driveway. When it gets icy, it is not recommend to drive the driveway, but parking at the bottom and walking up through the pasture is what I do to get home!
There is an electronic lockbox for your convenience that will let you into the house with a special code that I will email to you once the property is booked and you are confirmed to be arriving.
Your GPS may take you a slightly different route. I will email instructions on the easiest way to the lodge. There will also be signs to 'Pentoria Lodge' to follow for easier directions.
Other things to note
There are deer, squirrels, rabbits, owls, and other critters that may roam the property as the log home is surrounded by forest and is home to many creatures great and small. Some of the tiny ones may get into the house from time to time. Refunds cannot be granted because of a spider, fly, wasp, mouse, or any woodland critter. I strive to keep the property as thoroughly clean as possible with monthly pest control to mitigate the chances of seeing any creatures in the property and appreciate your full understanding should an insect or critter make a small appearance. Should this happen, please reach out to me asap and I will do anything I can to take care of it and to make your stay a 5 Star experience!

Thirsty Creek Farm has been a 10 year project to create unique places to camp and stay with full appreciation of the beautiful mountain setting. We are on a five acre wooded parcel at the top of the Stillaguamish River Valley (near Darrington). The North Cascades National Park is just 40 miles away, but there are great places to hike, rivers and waterfalls to see so much closer (some within walking distance). It is about a 15 minute walk to a good swimming hole in the "Stilly" river.
Originally built for us, the tiny cabin is now available for rent. We lived in this Cabin for 5 months while we were building a house on the property.
The bed is a queen size memory foam mattress, with seasonally appropriate bedding.
We provide a mini fridge inside for your perishables. Bring a cooler if you need more space.
We have 2 propane cooktops, one outside and one in the pantry. There are electric lights and enough power to charge your electronic devices.
There is an outdoor kitchen for washing up and a rainwater outdoor faucet.
The toilet is a flushable camp toilet.
The Tiny Cabin is our premier off-grid accommodation. With full views of Whitehorse mountain and a limited amount of solar electric power the small cabin is the perfect cozy getaway for 2. For families we can add a cot or 2 for a total occupancy of 4 (but very tight). Extra guests are $10/night per guest.
If you want to make it a group, there's plenty of space to put a tent adjacent to the Cabin, and even a space to park a small camper/Van. Additional parties are $40/night. Maximum People on site is 6.
Winter campers:
In Winter we do not have water (due to freezing), but we supply you with 5 gallons of potable water in a jug. For heat, we are insulated and we can provide a small electric heater to keep the chill off. The woodstove is more than adequate to keep the place warm and we do have wood on hand.
Summer Campers:
Once we turn the water on in spring the cabin has heated rainwater for showers and for washing dishes. We also have a cold water rain shower outside.

My husband & I put a lot of blood sweat & tears into making this a place our kids would enjoy during our weekend vacations to Leavenworth. We love hiking & there are a ton of nearby hikes. Despite it being located on the other side of the train tracks, we always seem to have a good time. We hope you enjoy it too!

Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy this glamp spot! Utilize the dry cabin equipped with two twin size beds, a pullout couch bed, a dining table with 4 chairs & extra seating. With plenty of space outdoors, feel free to pitch a tent or bring your RV for friends! It is a dry cabin meaning there is no running water. We have it powered with a solar panel which should give enough electricity to charge phones & lights as needed. There is also an outhouse with a compost bucket if you'd like to use that. The downside to this lovely parcel is it's on the opposite side of the train tracks, so there will be occasional noise. Maybe it adds to the uniqueness? Just keep that in mind as once in a blue moon, the train does stop so you may be stuck for a few minutes. Oh & those power lines sometimes make a crackling noise. Sometimes we notice it & other times we don't. Now that we got that out of the way, the pros are it's a great place to explore. There are a ton of nearby hikes. This spot is in between Stevens Pass & the famous Alps candy store, with each being about 15 mins away. There is a gas station/convenient store, a few diners, and a rest stop within 5 minutes. Historical Leavenworth is about 20 mins.
There is a spot for campfires, a small 2 burner propane stove & an ice chest for your convenience, but you will need to bring the propane.

This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is
Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls).
A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle.
Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas.
Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River.
In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had
spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then.
The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost!

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at the potting shed. We booked for Valentine’s Day weekend and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We were shown around when we arrived and the hospitality was above and beyond.
From a relaxing forest walk, romantic fire pit, well equipped kitchen nook, and cozy sleeping space, every detail was appreciated.
I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to escape for just a night or a longer stay.

Absolutely an amazing time away from the real world. From walking around on the trails to sitting next to the fire pit, it was great to get away with my dogs. Good communication and instructions from host. Just make sure to bring a lot of wood if you’re staying in the winter and for more than one night. The wood burning stove is the only heat source so if you plan to relax at the cabin you’ll need quite a bit!

A wonderful stay. The site is gorgeous. There's a really nice mountain scenery that can be enjoyed directly from the comfort of the living room. There's a wood stove that creates a great atmosphere and helps keeps the cabin very warm. As a bonus, theres plenty of wood to chop outside if you'd like to try that. (There's also already chopped wood so it's not necessary to do it). De Ann was a wonderful host and stopped by to say hi. She was very accommodating to our schedule too.

Brittany's space is a sweet little haven. I have booked this spot a few times for a Winter Solstice celebration and it never disappoints. What a fantastic spot. Valhalla Tree Farm is the perfect place to unplug and get cozy. The off-grid cabin was simple and comfortable, and the propane heater kept us toasty the whole time. Even with the water shut off for the season, everything was easy to manage, and the covered fire pit meant we could still enjoy a fire while it sprinkled most of the trip. Shannon was super helpful and responsive, and we loved being able to wander the property and let the dog run around off-leash. The backdrop of the escarpment is beautiful and makes the place feel extra special.
Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to hype it up too much because I do not want to fight for dates next time. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Camp Keyser Forest Camp
Second time staying here, and it’s one of my favorite local get aways. You feel so secluded, but it’s only 90ish minutes from Seattle.
Bed is ridiculously comfy, and it’s a great way to reset off grid. Lots of great hikes nearby, too.
It’s definitely cosy, so recommend preparing food in advance so you can easily cook without tripping over each other.
You’re close to a highway so you’ll hear car noise, but it doesn’t bother us at all. The lane is quiet and a great walk with the dog in the am to see the cows

Weekend Trip to Pipe Lake Cabin
The cabin was larger than I expected! You enter into a large room with the main bed (bedding included), pullout couch, armchair and fireplace. Then there is the kitchen area with a good size dining table. Bathroom is right off the kitchen. No shower but that didn't bother us. Basic amenities for the kitchen is all provided and there are plenty of extra blankets. Just a PSA, your door code will be sent 30 minutes before the check in, we found ourselves worrying as the time got closer and closer!

I loved camping at Money Creek! Our site was one of many on the river. There was plenty of firewood for sale at the host station. Bathrooms and potable water were close. There are trains that do go by often. They were background noise for us, but others in tents closer to the tracks might not like that.

Mt Baker is one of my favorite places to explore in WA! If you want an easy, family-friendly location to visit, but still get to take in the scenery, I’d recommend Artist Point. There is a small trail that you can hike on along the mountain as well as glaciers that don’t melt during the summer!

Verlot is a small campground that is very close to some great local hikes (Lake 22 is an excellent hike). If you're planning on staying, make sure that you take a look at the campground map. Some of the sites are far less desirable than others (because they are along the road or have little privacy). The better sites are along side the river, but also allow only limited privacy.

If you go in late fall, around the lake you should keep an eye out for toads migrating. It's amazing!

This is my Happy Place! I discovered it one day while driving Chinook Pass from Yakima to Kitsap, and have been camping here ever since. It's quiet, shady and beautiful, and I hope it stays that way forever. Happy Camping!

The campground is in the valley under the highway making it very loud and not somewhere we'd likely go back to.

Tucked in the trees past several other campgrounds. Most sites don't have a view of the water, but there is a raft put in, that provides access to the water. There are a few quirky sites, one with an old shelter, some with very large trees, other's clinging to the hillside. Pit toilets and very quite.

The perfect place to escape from the city for the night. A series of lakes greets you after a quick hike through the woods. Can be done as a day hike, but I recommend bringing a tent and utilizing the raised tent platforms at the end of the lakes. Great little overnight trip!

It's open again! Road up has been paved. First come until summer if 2018. All spots gone by Friday at 4pm, mid July. Loads of hiking from the campground. Dispersed forest camping along the road. Lovely campground.

There is some freeway noise and many people come over from the Seattle area for day use on the weekends. This isn't a camping area to "get away from it all."

Stayed August 12-14, 2016, in the west campground. The campground is very secluded and the sites have a lot of privacy. The river noise is a nice background that blocks out any other neighbor noises. The flies were pretty bad during the afternoon and evening, so consider bringing a screened tent to cover the picnic table. Heed the warning about limited accessibility to anything larger than a small trailer. You need to bring your own water or a way to treat river water.

Very convenient campground just off of I-90 on the banks of the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River. Friendly camp host, water is great and flush toilets with hand dryers are a bonus.
This campground is very popular and is worse for wear though. Site was strewn with trash when I arrived, cleaned up the best I could. Tent pad was uneven with poor drainage and created puddles around my tent with rainfall. Adjacent trail to Franklin Falls was completely overwhelmed with groups of day hikers, more trash, dog feces left on trail.
Verdict: Might be in better shape in the offseason, otherwise, trek further to less popular sites.

From the camp ground there is a bit of freeway noise. I would prefer another campground if you have a choice. Down the road are some nice spots (keep going and you will see them) but there is a bit of trash strewn around because they are not kept up. A fair bit of burn piles as well.
