This is a stand alone structure w/small AC unit and wall heater. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, this IS a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods,pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
One block away is Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. A mile north, explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. 2 blocks south is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has breweries, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, and plenty of coffee shops/restaurants.

The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. The cabin sleeps 4, offering one Queen size bed and one queen futon in the living room that faces a smart t.v. utilizing Starlink Internet. The kitchen offers all of your kitchen needs(minus running water from the faucet).
Also, in the cabin you’ll find a smart speaker to hook up to, two African djembe drums, a ukulele and an Australian didgeridoo. Let your musical side come on out!
Note:
There is no running water on site or septic system. Bring your own drinking water or filter from the river. Water is available in town as well. A porta potty is centered between the camping site and the cabin site.
Generously portioned bundles of firewood including kindling are for purchase located under the cute A-frame structure near outhouse.

Beachlovers, watersports lovers, this is a great location on beautiful Vashon! I call this opportunity "Wild Card Camping" because what I'm offering isn't typical: camping plus limited, shared use of my empty vacation cabin while it's being renovated for a fall rental.
Inside, guests have access to a bathroom with a shower, Wi-Fi, plus a table and chairs for air-conditioned relaxation with fellow campers on hot days. The cabin is otherwise unfurnished. For a small fee ($3), you can also arrange to use the laundry.
There is room for one camp site in a small field below the cabin.
There is a second "site" for one or two people who would like to "camp" in one of the bedrooms. You provide all of the contents of the room. Call it an "ADU" for non-campers or an elderly but still feisty person.

Here's why the location is so special: A short 10- to 15-minute walk through the nearby historic hamlet of Ellisport brings you to KVI, the island's largest sand spit and one of its best beaches. You can also launch a kayak or paddleboard from Crow Beach, a sandy shoreline right next to the bus stop and even closer to your campsite.
During July and August, you can pick blackberries on the property, listen to owls at night, hear eagles and ospreys calling during the day, and maybe even spot a deer wandering through.
Hike or bike to a local café for coffee and pastries, or hop on the Route 119 bus (weekdays only), which stops next to Crow Beach, and head into town to shop or dine at one of Vashon's wonderful restaurants. Ride the bus in the other direction to hike the bluffs at the south end of Maury Island.
Visit the golf course for a meal or a round of golf, or purchase a $17 day pass to the Vashon Athletic Club if you'd like to work out. You can also take the bus to either the north or south ferry terminal for day trips to Seattle or Tacoma.
Wild Card Camping is located at the end of a dirt driveway off a road that has commuter traffic on weekday mornings and evenings. Traffic can also be heavier on summer weekends, but the area is generally very quiet during the middle of the day and after 6:00 p.m.

We had a lovely stay! The off grid cabin was well equipped and Dawson provided great instructions on everything. The sauna is well worth the upgrade. We would happily come back.

3 nights at The Plank and Pillow on Pirate Cove
Thank you for such a fun experience! The best part was all of the water toys we were able to use! Such a quiet and peaceful location. It’s our first time using hip camp and hopefully a bathroom is installed so we can return! That was the only issue the porter potty location. Other than that we enjoyed every bit of the cabin we even brought our projector so we had a movie night outside under the stars cabin is fully stocked Kevin literally thought of everything!

1 night at Sky River Glamp N Camp 🏕️🔥
Beautiful property, right on the river, awesome views adorable cabins each thoughtfully planed. Andrea communicates extremely well and is very friendly. We felt like guests not customers. Private beach access great spot for swimming or water activities. We saw lots of eagles and wildlife. Andrea provided so many amenities, including kayaks. Make sure to visit the sandbar tavern right across the street, so whimsical and fun! We are already planning our next trip.

Weekend Trip to Forest Farm Camping & Coffee
Two cots in each a frame, bring your sleeping bag and comfy bedding if you’re a side sleeper. there was a simple sink behind the right cabin which is helpful to wash up. Lodged for a night after the bioluminescence kayak tour at port gamble. Could hear coyotes at night and chickens in the morning.

Great location and wonderful hosts. Perfect launching off site for Mt Rainier. And a wonderful place to return to relax. We had so much fun on the lake.
Would love to see an indoor restroom, or one that didn't require a hike up a bunch of stairs and a hill to access (for my mom), but otherwise, truly a perfect stay!

This was such a cool stay. The location was perfect and we had an amazing time exploring the whole property. The different areas to relax were very thoughtfully placed throughout the property, and it was a nice walk to the lake. The bed was comfy and the space was clean. Loved having the fire pit at night. Would definitely stay at this magical place again!!

This place is incredible! It’s so well maintained. I was impressed by the lack of spiderwebs on the cabin. 😜 And as others have mentioned, it smells lovely inside. My favorite features were by far the wind phone and community cabinet. We painted rocks and then forgot to leave them there so I’m sure we’ll be back to drop those off. Access to Cedar River Trail is easy and it takes just a few minutes to hop over to Cascadia Pizza or the market. We had fun playing a hot wheels treasure hunt but a few were never found. So have fun to whomever comes next! 😆 Host was super easy to contact with any questions along the way and I’d absolutely return here again. For us, this retreat (just 17 minutes away from home) was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend this gem to anyone who wants a little break from everyday life. Cell service was great but not internet. But you wouldn’t want to use those things here anyways. Thanks again Brittany!

Absolutely lovely little cabin with amazing access to the lake! It was so cozy and had so many great accessories and additions to make our time enjoyable. We especially loved the puzzles, board games and DVDs! The cooking applicances and kitchenware made it so we didn't have to pack anything of our own, we just bought food at the Safeway 10 minutes away. Our dog absolutely loved jumping off the dock right into the lake with us, and we took her to various dog friendly parks in the area in the day time. Would highly recommend for couples of any age

My wife, my kid and I enjoyed our overnight stay in the a-frames enough to want to return again.
Our hosts gave us clear directions & met us when we arrived. Everything was very cordial and relaxed.
We took a twilight walk through the trees & then stayed up late to witness the Perseid event. The hammock was perfect for that!
Although we opted to make our own coffee, it’s nice to know that, and fresh eggs are available.
Overall, the experience was just plain easy. It’d be a very good experience for someone with limited experience camping, such as a teenager. We are very pleased.

Perfect, quiet overnight get away for my spouse and I! We got dinner at the island restaurant and took the nice walk down to the beach access just in time for dusk. Sitting outside on the small deck into the night was super relaxing and we’ll definitely be back!

I really enjoyed staying at this lovely Property. It’s a bit of a communal treat. I felt that things were explained openly and honestly about the arrangements and also she was willing to accommodate a special individual needs. If you’d like a simple place with all the basics it’s a great place to camp or utilize the room if it’s available.

The little cabin was very private and quaint plus a perfect place to bring your dog. There are many extra ammenities the host provides: water dispenser, propane for stove, firewood and fire starters. We found fun surprises inside as well as in the forest nearby. My grandkids and I felt very safe. The location was also quiet and peaceful. We will be returning!

Cedar River Retreat is my pup’s and my favorite! We visit the tent site and the cabin multiple times a year. Brittany is always so kind, friendly, and responsive.
I’m so happy to have shared this relaxing oasis with my family! They remarked on the amenities and extras available that I’ve always appreciated about CRR. We had a few other friends join just for the day and there was plenty of room for everyone to stretch their legs and enjoy the large outdoor space. Another 5 star stay at CRR on the books!
