AMENITIES/THINGS TO DO: -There is a communal bunkhouse on property available to guests with a flushable toilet and a hot water shower. It also includes a kitchenette and we welcome you to use any of the kitchen/cookware and appliances. Our 2 French Bulldogs also stay in this building but they love humans and all the attention you can give them! -We have a wellness yurt with well equipped gym that is available to use as an add-on. -There is an infrared sauna that can sit up to 3 people located next to the yurt accompanied by a cold plunge as an add-on. -You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast. -Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, piggy, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending 21 miles from Buckley to Puyallup. -Communal fire pit areas with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. There is one close to the communal kitchen area, one closer to the field by the barn, and we have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed. -WIFI is available closer to the communal area. LOCATION: 2 miles from downtown Buckley with Blue Max Meats and the Rainier Fresh Country Store for a quick trip down the road for groceries and less than 15 minute drive to Enumclaw with more restaurant options available and Bonney Lake also 15 minutes away with Costco, Fred Meyers etc.

Tents can be pitched under four apple trees close to a fire pit for cooking. Beautiful area with horses and livestock to see in the neighborhood. A Blueberry Farm is across the street on Veazie picking around August. A Christmas Trees farm is across the street on SE 384th. Eagles, hawks, robins, doves, owls, and hummingbirds visiting hillside flower garden, are a few of the birds for your enjoyment. Check in is at 4:00 check out at 11:00 am, early check in is possible. Two State parks within four miles. Four miles to the town of Enumclaw.  We have a 3 or 6 person tent for rent, a queen air mattress, sleeping bags if needed as well all at reasonable rental prices. The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors. You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. Enjoy an outdoor shower on the edge of the woods with on-demand hot water. You’ll also have your own custom made steel fire pit with fire wood available for purchase (or you can bring your own). We have an outdoor picnic table as well as a table inside the tent for late night card games. There's a lovely little bathroom with a composting toilet and a sink with running water. We allow up to 6 people (absolutely no pets) and request that parties respect the limit so that our composting toilet can keep up with the demand with minimal servicing while you are here (to maintain your privacy). Please contact us to set up a time for a guided tour if you are interested in seeing the farm up close. Please no U-pick or tours without guidance. We’d like to make sure to point out that there is convenient and dedicated parking for campers but the camping spot is about 200 feet from the parking area and over uneven ground. A cart is provided for unpacking your vehicle. Because it is very dark here at night, we would request that campers arrive before dark to safely find their way and unload with adequate light. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. If you like to camp in the winter, like to take your dog, and want a roof with a heater over your head, this is perfect! It was a perfect island adventure. Fred's special touches included easy access pottable water and dishwashing sink on the porch of the cabin, a clean/neat outhouse, a bug flap, heater, microwave, fridge, and COOKIES! We walked down to the beach, took a couple trips to beautiful parks, and enjoyed the views of the water from the cabin. We brought a tent/shelter and put it up for an extra "room" to enjoy the views and grilled cheese/tomato soup, hot cider, and apple crisp. We heard coyotes howling in the distance, owls hooting, saw deer, coyotes, and river otters. We truly had an island adventure we will always cherish and remember. Thank you Fred for providing us this opportunity!!

The cabin was larger than I expected! You enter into a large room with the main bed (bedding included), pullout couch, armchair and fireplace. Then there is the kitchen area with a good size dining table. Bathroom is right off the kitchen. No shower but that didn't bother us. Basic amenities for the kitchen is all provided and there are plenty of extra blankets. Just a PSA, your door code will be sent 30 minutes before the check in, we found ourselves worrying as the time got closer and closer!

We had a wonderful stay, sad we didn't get a longer visit. There is tons of places to explore and we would definitely love to come back. The folks were helpful, kind and welcoming. Definitely has a family friendly welcome. The yurt was warm even though it was pouring all night long. First night we left heat on low, second night we left it off. They have probably one of the most well appointed kitchens we have ever seen, big and roomy. There are games and books and seating. Big family style table for games and dining. Like home away from home with loads of hiking trails near by. We brought our dogs and they had a blast. Next time we come to visit I wont be in class all day. We cannot say enough about how beautiful it is in camp and the surrounding area. 100% recommend!

This place is awesome! Dawson has done an amazing job with creating the space. It has everything you could need! You can really tell a lot of thought has gone into the place and a lot of work has been involved. We had the best time and were so cozy together. We were lucky to have rain over night and it was so peaceful listening to the rain on the roof as we fell asleep. The directions provided made it very easy to find and a couple of wagons and a lantern are available to help you get your things out to the cabin. As we came in November, we didn’t get the opportunity to use the outdoor space. But we still braved using the shower and it’s worth it, so toasty and incredible views! Inside is cozy and comfortable. The kitchenette has everything you could need. That bed though! So comfy, as someone who deals with chronic pain, I really appreciate how comfortable the bed is! It was really nice to get off grid a little and put our phones away for the night. We had such a good time we are definitely looking to come back again next year in the summer hopefully! If you get the chance to stay here, do it!

I loved staying at Fred’s cabin! Truly had everything you need including an incredibly friendly and thoughtful host. It was quite stormy the weekend we stayed but it was perfectly cozy in the cabin with the little heater :) Fred even let us know when he heard about a nearby orca pod, we didn’t get to see them as they went on up to Tacoma, but he let us borrow his binoculars and told us all about the island and its animal sightings! 10/10 stay and weekend- hope to be back soon!

We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

West Perch – Smaller site with water and power, tucked along the western edge, pull through parking. Side Step – A simple park-n-camp offshoot along the lower driveway. Gully Vista – A hike-in, tent/hammock site, via a narrow trail down into the gullie. Most guests tent camp or bring vans. If your trailering, and the trailer weighs more than your 2WD tow vehicle, this place probably isn’t the best match. ✅ What Makes This Place Special: Backs up to 150+ acres of state timberland (10–20 year growth). Hunters: check regulations. Our new link trail connects to the Howell Lake ORV network—tight at first, then opens up. Trail map posted in outhouse. We’ve got firewood—might not be perfectly dry, but it burns. Bring kindling in wet seasons. Trash-free land. Please keep it clean. No glass (if you bring it, Do not break it). Howell Lake seasonal swimming hole nearby with rope swing. 2-mile hike (4/10 hardness) or 10-minute drive. Big night skies—great for moon/stargazing. Campground runs on solar. ⚠️ A Few Notes: Some sites have steep drops—stay alert, especially at night. 1-mile dirt driveway is bumpy—take it slow. 280ft water well, Fresh water, but passes through non drinking water rated tanks and lines so I can't legally recommend drinking it. Huge old century-old cedar stumps litter the surrounding woods and you'll see where loggers in the early 1900's cut into the sides to place their springboards. The trees surrounding the property today are mostly fir and alder. The 16'x20' cabin sits tucked back against the forest, looking out with territorial forest and mountain views of the Cascades. Outside you'll find a firepit with chairs and a picnic table for your enjoyment. Off to the side you'll also find our tidy and clean-smelling outhouse. Inside the cabin you'll be surprised at the roominess and open feel given the cabin's dimensions. A counter with sink hides all of your plates, utensils, pots and pans. An L-shaped dining nook seats 3 comfortably. Across the room you'll find wonderful wood-stove for those chilly nights, and a sofa to relax on. A wide ladder leads up to the sleeping loft where you'll find a double -sized (full) futon bed tucked under the window looking out toward the mountains. Given the cabin's size, it is best-suited for couples. There is a nice flat tent-site at the cabin as well. Maximum occupancy is 3 guests at the property at any time. Please note, this is an OFF-GRID cabin with NO ELECTRICITY or RUNNING WATER. You're welcome to bring a portable generator to plug into our lighting system. In the Spring/Summer we have a rain barrel that may provide limited water to the sink for washing only, NOT for drinking. *SEPTEMBER 2025 UPDATE* The neighbor and his camp mentioned in some of the reviews this summer has packed up and moved on, along with his dogs. The property is back to its quiet, private, and welcoming environment.
