Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. Want to add boating to your visit, reach out to South Sound Sailing Tours / Capt. Corey (360) 489-7476, CaptainCorey76@gmail.com .

This backyard shed conversion is a perfect mix of comfy and quirky! Ms Pacman, Beanie Babies, and a lips couch all make an appearance in this suburban backyard glamping experience! At just 186 square feet, this spot is all yours to enjoy away from the noise of the city in our large, lush backyard. You have a private patio to smoke or enjoy meals on our cedar deck, or enjoy a drink in the shared hammock space under our towering Eastern Hemlock tree. Your quiet backyard refuge is equipped with everything you’ll need for a fun weekend away. We are just two blocks from the bus stop--close to the airport, close to downtown, and walkable to White Center. And only two blocks from your door is Westcrest Park, a Greenbelt with trails and a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline. If you feel like staying in, enjoy our “mini arcade” or make use of some of our board games or coloring books. Relax on an iconic Seattle drag bar’s original “lips couch” or grab a book from our queer library. This is a stand alone structure w/small AC unit and wall heater. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, this IS a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods, pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. A mile north, explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. 2 blocks south is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has breweries, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, and plenty of coffee shops/restaurants.

Professionally managed by RR Bed and Breakfast, on site. Highlights: -- Easy on/off from US 101 at SR 3 (Shelton) -- Single cottage and RV site = privacy -- Pet-friendly -- Stone firepit with half-moon seating -- Creekside deck at the outlet of Lake Isabella – private, no neighbors -- Kayak to the lake (also a nearby WDFW boat launch) Details: 17 min to Hood Canal, 30 min to Lake Cushman, 50 min to the Staircase Entrance of Olympic Natl Park (33 miles). Perfect location for setting up camp with your RV, then taking your car up into the Olympics. Looking for dog-friendly hikes? Several Olympic Natl Forest and Skokomish Wilderness trails can be accessed from Lake Cushman, including Mt. Ellinor, Mt. Rose, and Mt. Washington. When returning, enjoy what the property has to offer. A trailhead beckons you to the shores of Mill Creek. If you pause along the trail, wildlife will stir from their hiding places. Song birds, rabbits, deer, voles – yes. But also river otters, beavers, ducks, owls, and coyotes. The trail is historic to the property - you will find remnants of fallen barbed wire fences, an abandoned electrical post from 70 years ago, and a 1960’s sedan, all taken back by the forest. A wetland boardwalk ushers you to a creekside deck. A birdwatcher's paradise, here you can kayak into Lake Isabella or tube downstream. This is private access -- the expansive wetlands prevent neighbors - you will only share this special space with the occasional kayaker. There is a beaver dam just upstream, and if you visit at twilight you will hear them stir from dens along the bank. When hunger stirs, stroll north along the trail to a secluded upland picnic table. Dine among the woodland animals. Between our rental cottage and RV site is a large propane fire pit with half-moon seating - perfect for roasting S'mores late into the evening or stargazing in a region remote from city lights. With just a single RV site and cottage, the nearest neighbor acres away, and only State land between the property and Hwy 101, you can expect a private stay in a forested setting with easy freeway access to the Olympics on one side and an idyllic private creek side nature preserve on the other. We welcome you to the beauty of Washington's Olympic Peninsula.

Welcome to The Legacy Basecamp—a true-to-roots, semi-off-grid mountain hideaway in Elbe, Washington. Steeped in family history and originally carved out decades ago. It’s an unapologetically rough, rugged, and authentic mountain outpost built for real adventurers who want a no-fuss launchpad for the backcountry. If you want a soulful, unplugged space where you can easily access beautiful parks and recreation, use resources mindfully, and sleep under the pines, you've found your spot. The Space & Terrain Plenty of Room to Spread Out: We have ample open, rugged acreage surrounding the area. There is plenty of space to pitch extra tents, park a rig, or set up camp kitchens so your whole crew can spread out. No matter what the Washington weather throws at you, you'll stay dry while cooking over an open flame, swapping stories, and watching the sparks fly into the deep timber. The Vibe: Expect a raw, time-worn setting. You'll fall asleep to the wind in the evergreens and wake up to the distant, nostalgic whistle of the historic passing steam train. The Amenities (Keep It Sparse) This is a semi-off-grid experience where water and power are precious commodities. Water & Power: Minimal resources on-site. We ask all guests to use amenities sparingly and practice mindful conservation. Bring your own drinking water and power banks.
