We had a great stay at this Hipcamp property. It’s definitely a unique setup and a little gem, with the campsite and a cabin that is currently being remodeled.
Rondi greets you upon arrival and explains where you’ll be staying and how the setup works with the cabin. The ocean shore is just a 2-minute drive or about a 5-minute walk away, which makes it a great spot to unwind after a day exploring the island. Downtown is also only about a 5-minute drive, with plenty of coffee shops and grocery stores nearby.
A few things we’d recommend knowing before booking: read the property’s “About” page carefully. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs, as the property sits directly between two fairly busy roads. We also agree with other reviews that privacy is limited—the cabin is behind the campsite and there are open views toward neighboring private properties.
If you’re considering staying in the cabin as a second guest, we’d recommend checking with the host first, as the small bathroom is shared with multiple people. If a shared bathroom or communal setup isn’t your thing, this probably isn’t the right property for you.
And don’t pack too heavily for the campsite—the site is downhill and the path doesn’t have stairs, so getting your things down takes a little effort.
Overall, it’s definitely a true Hipcamp experience. We had no problems during our stay, enjoyed the location, and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different and close to the ocean.
